As an August baby, he will always be one of the youngest or oldest in his grade, and we kept running into schools--both public and private--that wanted to place him in TK rather than kindergarten. Whittier Friends School gave us another option. He gets to learn and grow at the pace that is right for him, in a wholesome environment that emphasizes fairness, individual growth, and community. What has impressed me most is the people. The teachers are incredibly caring and attentive, and the parent community is genuinely involved in the life of the school. It feels like a place where families know one another and adults truly know the children they're teaching. I'm so grateful we found WFS.

The way the teachers pour their knowledge, love, and kindness into the kids is a Godsend! They have amazing field trips, creative ways of teaching, small classes for a better learning experience, and a strong encouragement of parental involvement. Our son can't wait to go to school the next day! It brings us so much joy knowing that he is excelling at such a high rate. This is his second year and he will continue to attend Whittier Friends School for as many years as he can!

She is incredibly hands-on, always ready to assist in any classroom that needs support. She is protective, kind, caring with every child, and exceptionally patient. I also want to give honorable mentions to Ms. Katrina and Ms. Jasmine, two outstanding teachers who help my son feel safe while making learning fun every single day. Before attending this school, my son struggled with eating independently and socializing. Now, he is so much more confident -- he eats on his own, uses more words to express what he wants, and is far more open to making friends. The growth we've seen has been incredible. I remember reading some negative reviews before enrolling him and feeling skeptical. However, after our experience, I can confidently say they do not reflect the environment we have encountered. I am genuinely so happy to share such a positive review. If you're having second thoughts or feel unsure, I encourage you to give this school a chance and see the difference for yourself. Watching your child grow and thrive here is something you won't regret.

My daughter has struggled with self-regulation issues in the past and has often been dismissed or labeled as "challenging," but the staff here has been incredible. They are genuinely willing to work with her while I manage outside support, which allows me to keep working without constant worry. Without this school, I honestly don't know where I'd be as a working mom. The staff is amazing -- so supportive, attentive, and proactive -- and they keep my daughter engaged, happy, and thriving. I can't recommend Keystone Montessori highly enough!

I have received guidance and support that have helped me grow as a clinician and have been given opportunities to provide mentorship to those seeking to advance their career or their education in this field, which has also contributed to my growth as a clinician. I appreciate that Behavior Frontiers offers monthly CEU learning opportunities that are engaging and informative. I have always been highly motivated in school, and I love how this job allows me to continue learning. Additionally, there is a high standard set for Behavior Technicians. New Behavior Technicians are given a strong foundation when they go through our training program. This allows me to further their growth while still being able to provide quality services to my clients. For those Behavior Technicians that are not meeting company standards, there are clear protocols in place that state when it is needed to hold a disciplinary action meeting. This allows me to convey an action plan so that the Behavior Technician can clearly understand what is needed to improve. Overall, Behavior Frontiers has policies in place that allow me to complete my job duties while growing as a clinician, and I can definitely see myself here for many more years.

I chose this school in part because I attended South Ranchito myself as a child and had a good experience, so I never imagined we would be dealing with this now. That said, it is important to note that the school was very different back then and structured differently than it is today. Before enrolling my son, I was repeatedly reassured that he would receive support learning Spanish and that the language barrier would not be an issue. We are now six months into the school year, and that reassurance has proven to be inaccurate. My son is struggling significantly due to the language barrier, and it has affected his confidence, attitude, and academic performance both in Spanish and English. Homework has become a daily struggle because he dislikes the school and feels overwhelmed. These issues never existed before. He is now falling behind academically, and I am genuinely concerned that he may not pass the year. I recently received notice that he must stay after school for additional ELA testing, which unfortunately confirmed that he is being pushed back academically rather than supported. Communication has been another major concern. I am contacted when my son is involved in an incident, yet there is little to no communication when something happens to him. Minor issues are treated as major problems, and I receive repeated calls stating that he "doesn't listen" or "has difficulty following directions," despite my explaining multiple times that the language barrier plays a significant role. Instead of offering understanding or solutions, responses have felt dismissive and authoritative rather than supportive. I also attempted to contact the principal regarding my son's academic struggles and transition. I left a message and never received a call back. For a parent raising serious concerns about their child falling behind academically, this lack of response is unacceptable. As a single working mother, I am unfortunately forced to keep my son enrolled until the end of the school year due to after-school care availability. However, he will not be returning next year. I strongly discourage enrolling your child here if Spanish is not their first language unless you thoroughly research the specific classroom and support system they will be assigned. While this may be a classroom-specific issue, based on our experience, this school has failed to support my child academically and emotionally. Avoid if possible.
