My review is mainly for the experience of attending a summer concert, as I am not a fan of amusement park rides in the slightest. As such, I really appreciate the option of buying an affordable season pass (440sek/approx. $45) that allows you to visit every day all season long, and attend every concert. The price only includes entry into the park itself, none of the rides. The rides require their own individual tickets or passes. I love this arrangement as it lets me ride one or two of the classics by paying individually, while not having to spend money on a ride pass that will go mostly unused. Once you're inside the gates, you're a captive audience in a tourist attraction during peak season, so expect food and drink prices to reflect that. On concert nights and weekends, it might also be a challenge to find anywhere to sit and enjoy said food and drinks. But really, all of that aside, there are few things that match the vibes of a gorgeous summer evening at Gröna Lund. The crowds, the sounds, the water, the energy of it all. It's unlike anything else. Please do experience it if you get a chance. To get here, take spårvagn 7 from stockholm central, or a commuter ferry from slussen. We were on a cruise that docked in Stockholm. Look out from the balcony and saw the drop towers and roller coasters. Almost in the middle of Stockholm! Had no plans for the day except to wander around the city. Looked up the park and decided to go. It was a 10-minute water taxi from the cruise pier. Stood in the admission line for about 10 minutes until they opened. It was like a step back in time for an American. Everything about the place was family oriented but also had great rides for adults. The face down drop tower was incredible. In fact, all 4 of the drop towers were great. They have an old wooden roller coaster that's fast and intense. Haunted house ride was fun and worth a couple of trips through. Good variety of food, including vegetarian and vegan, available at reasonable prices. A hidden beer garden on top and of a restaurant, while also being under a steel coaster. Fantastic day at the park. It's part of the Tivoli group of parks including Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. Well worth a day visit. read more

Don't waste your time or money here. I went with three kids ages 11-17 and we paid for admission plus the unlimited ride wristband. Issues started with their website which has a payment system that wouldn't accept any of the four US cards I tried. So I bought tickets in person which were $5 more each. What they didn't tell us is you lose the two Jetpasses (line bypass) that come with online tickets and there's no way to buy them separately, and the park experience is way worse without these passes. Lines were pretty bad, and Jetpass made it worse- several times enough people were using Jetpass that the regular line wouldn't move for several turns. After an hour and a half we'd made it on to two rides- we bailed on our first try because the full line is hidden until you make it inside (mouse coaster). This was midweek summer so crowded but not extreme, but one roller coaster was broken so more people were going on other rides. Then at our third and fourth attempts, we waited 45 minutes each only to be told when we were near the front that the ride had broken. Nothing to make up for it like a pass to come back to the front of the line, just that we could wait an unknown amount of time or go somewhere else. In the second case we were literally strapped in to the Catapult only to be told to leave. So now three of the rides were broken and we'd waited in another 90 minutes of lines to get nothing out of it. At this point the kids were sick of it and just wanted to leave. Final damage- 3 hours, two rides for each of four people, $228. Over $28 a ride. read more

Phenomenal theme park in the middle of Stockholm! We were incredibly surprised how charming and perfect Grona Lund was during our recent visit. It's an incredibly compact park built right on the water with very scenic views for many of the rides. They have a great selection of coasters, flat rides and attractions for kids along with games, great food offerings and some entertainment. The park also has great operations and incredibly polite and helpful staff. We also enjoyed doing the upchage haunted house - it was really well done for a year round experience. Can't wait to go back some day in the future - it is on my list of a "must visit" while in Stockholm for sure! read more

Sweden - ahhh - Sweden. This is the life. Grona Lund is on the island that also has of so many great parks and museums and things to do for kids that you can't help but make an entire day of it. Gruna Lund is and old park - - -and so it has quite a few "old'" rides - like a love canal. But it is wonderful and honest and fun. Bring your little children. They will prove it to you. Then eat. Gruna Lund has lots of great places to chow down. read more

This review is mainly for tourists or foreigners who visit Stockholm and would like to go to an amusement park. I would personally not recommend going to Gröna Lund if you do not have children with you. Firstly, the amusement park is nothing special since it does not have as many fun attractions as parks in other bigger countries. I guess a lot of people woult see the Stockholm theme park as a fair more than anything else. It is beautiful and all but might disappoint you if you are looking for bigger crazy rides and other attraction. Secondly, it is very expensive to go there, and it is not worth queuing for the rides that they do have available. But if you do, buy the unlimited wriste band, it is by far the most valuable one and can be used for everything escept the ghost house. Last but not least, the food at Gröna Lund is extremely expensive and is not really worth it either. But as a theme park should have, they have chorizos, cotton candy, hot dog, popcorn and every other imaginable theme park candy. Unfortunately I can't see what is so special about Gröna Lund except that it is an amusement park that is over a century old. Stockholm has so many more fun attractions that are worth seeing that Gröna Lund becomes dull in comparison. read more

Woop my first time in Gröna Lund was just epic! We purchased the season pass which gets us access to ALL the concerts happening here all summer long! For two people that was only €60 to see bands like Madness, Lionel Riche, Wolfmother etc! Incredible! We got the day pass for excess on all the rides! We tried as many as we could without feeling ill! The "insane" is unlike any ride I've been on before! Defiantly worth it! We also did the other roller coasters and a large eclipse ride. It's defiantly a fun fair more than a amusement park but it is a fantastic facility to have in the middle of a city! There are games, roller coasters, scare tunnels, fun houses, and a smaller kiddy section also :) awesome fun, really friendly staff! read more

5 stars for the memories and nostalgia, 4 stars for what it actually is, an above average theme park. For me, it was always easy to spend an entire day here. There is a fee for entering and then fees for rides, you can get the wristband that gives you unlimited rides apart from a few attractions. For a whole family though this gets a bit pricey. There are a lot of concerts in the summer. I believe the park is only open in the summer months. This is an old style theme park, so don't expect all the latest and craziest state of the art rides. But it has a good mix of family friendly rides with some adrenaline rush rides too. And some that are good for the kids. Some rides have been there since forever, but they do put in new ones once in a while, the variety is pretty good. The viking ship, magic carpet, haunted house (live ghost actors), bumper cars, ghost train, flying swings, lady bug, fun house and free fall tower is what comes to mind. The rollercoaster is a bit tame and not among the top 5 in Europe. In the 90s (not anymore) there used to be a theme park attraction inside Grona Lund with separate entrance fee, where people (slightly intoxicated and obnoxious men) would throw rubber balls on girls sitting in bikinis on a ledge by a pool and if the girls were hit they would fall into the water. This was an actual thing, if you can believe that! I don't see an activity like that going down well in this day and age. Just, for the record I never took part in this myself, I would have been 12 years old and too shy to talk to girls, let alone throw balls at them. The general atmosphere and park grounds are pleasant, some folks enjoy just walking around, playing some carnival games and getting snacks. read more

Thank goodness I check their opening hours as soon as I got to Stockholm because it was the LAST day of the season. I thought it would be very crowded since it was the last day but I was still able to ride the rides with minimal wait time. I loved the rides since they were very different from what we have back home in Hawaii. I especially liked the fun house. Usually it's pretty lame, but this one was actually really fun! The park is great for families because they have super-toddler-friendly rides all the way up to the hell-no-I'm-not-riding-that rides. Even I didn't have the guts to ride some of the scary looking ones. Oh, and the swings! WoW... it takes you all the way up up up in the air. It's a great way to check out the city. If you're in the area, it's totally worth a visit. read more

I like Gröna Lund, but perhaps more for nostalgic reasons than because it's a great spot. If you really like riding roller coasters and such, you'll be disappointed with this place. They have two great ones: "Fritt Fall", which drops you from a height of 80 meters - make sure you choose the "tilt" option where you sit on bike seats instead of chairs and where it tilts forward before dropping you, and Extreme, which is a short but intense roller coaster. There are a bunch okay rides, but it's 100 SEK (~15 USD) just to get in to the park and then you have to pay for the rides (or get an unlimited ride pass which is fun if you're a kid - adults get bored fast). Some rides, like Extreme, are twisting and turning so much that you can't have anything in your pockets (unless you can zip them up). This means you have to put your stuff in a locker, unfortunately a lot of lockers were broken last I visited and there are not many to begin with. They also cost you 10 SEK and you must have coins. Food is not good here. It's on par with airport food, both quality wise and price wise. One disappointing thing about coming here for a fun night is if they have a concert. The acts are pretty big (Whitesnake was there the night I visited, and Lady Gaga has made a gig here) but a lot of the rides close down during the concert so if your'e not into music you'll be disappointed. It's a good place to kill one or two hours, but it's not an amusement park by international standards. read more

'Ello chaps! Ready for a wild ride in Stockholm's famous Djugarden island? Gröna Lund is an amusement park in Stockholm, Sweden. It is a park that has a lot packed into it's small size. Multiple roller coasters, haunted house, and more! What always captured my attention were the carnival games where the prizes were HUGE boxes of candy. I mean, the things are HUGE, and it's like everyone wins something. Grona Lund IS a part of the Stockholm Pass attractions program, which is a great way to gain entry into the park. Okay, so it's no 6 Flags or Disneyland... but it's not claiming to be either... This old "theme park" of sorts has loads of charm and history. There's fun for all ages here, from about 5 years + The big drop rides are actually extremely high and quite the adrenaline rush if that's what you're looking for. The roller coasters are easy enough that almost anyone can ride them, but they have just enough loops and turns to make them a bit exciting. The games are fun for all the kids and of course the huge sticks of Cotton Candy, the super sized icee drinks and all the great carnival snacks are always a huge hit! I guess it feels more like an American "fair" than an actual theme park, but that's just fine for me - I love it all just the same PS: buy the unlimited wristbands - better value! read more

There are so many memories associated with this place, from going to concerts or going with friends. Riding everything over and over again. It's a fairly small amusement park but it has some cool rides. Like free fall (never again!) or other roller coasters. The main thing I like with this park however is not the rides, it is the atmosphere. It is such a nice place to just walk around, enjoy some food, a drink, popcorn and just take in the view from the dock. You can go here by boat from slussen, or by trolley. Either way it is simple to get to. One big plus for me is that the entrance fee is separate from the fee of riding everything. Yes, you DO have a choice in the matter (unlike Busch Gardens). I don't like rides so for me it makes sense paying the entrance fee and then I'm happy with that. So you get the other choices of what you want to do inside. You can pick from a wristband that will let you ride everything over and over, or you can even buy coupons and pay for maybe one or two rides. There are some rides that - in my opinion - are missed. Like the giant viking boat that goes upside down, and others too for that matter. But new generations need new things. My favorite will always be disco jet (not it's name anymore ... ), the fun house is always fun. If you're visiting Stockholm during summer this is a place to see. Doesn't matter whether you are in to rides or not, I'd say go. It's worth it. read more

I had not been to a amusement park for ages ! Nevertheless, I had an awesome time there. To be honest the waiting times were not as bad either , the max I waited was 15 min. The park itself has it's own charm but it's pretty old and does lack some new entertainment , besides that , it's really fun for all ages ! An okay place to visit if you're coming to Stockholm. I believe it's operated by the same people who own Tivoli in Denmark. In my opinion though, the park in Copenhagen is better. They have rides, amusement games, lots of shops and food stalls to keep you busy and your wallet empty. Admission is pricy, plus you pay extra for each ride. It's SEK 25 per token and most rides are 2-3 tokens. Purchase a Stockholm Card to gain access to save money. It does stay open pretty late until 11pm do you may want to save this activity until the evening when it's a little less crowded. read more

We visited Gröna Lund on our family trip to Sweden. By comparison to many other theme parks I have been to it is small and mildly carnival like but it does have charm. The staff is friendly and helpful. The girl at the ticket booth was very helpful and helped us decide if we wanted to get the unlimited pass or just enough tickets for the bigger rides we wanted to go on. She also told us which rides we should skip and which were a must do! The park was not that busy and we breezed thru all the lines and rode all the coasters and both free fall rides. It has a great location next to the water and easily accessible by the ferry. It is clean and seemingly well kept up. It appears there are music concerts there almost everyday. The price for the entrance and the unlimited ride pass was comparable to what I would pay to go to Six Flags here in the states. We had a great day in the park and would check it out again! read more

There's no summer in Stockholm without a visit to Gröna Lund! The views are amazing and there's so much more to it than just an amusement park. I always recommend to buy the season card which allows entrance any day of the week during the whole summer, including all the music concerts, only for 240kr! Wether you seek the adrenaline rush or just want to sit in the sun and enjoy an ice cream, Gröna Lund delivers. The city views are fabulous and make sure to take the ferry boat, either to or from the park. Nothing more feels like summer than the warm breeze of the sea :) read more

A very impressive theme park for the small size, with many great rides and food options. The roller coaster Insane is the most intense ride I've been on in my life. The tall swings are terrifying. The tall drop rides are a lot of fun. Will go back next time I'm in Stockholm. read more

It was a fun day. My kids loved it. There is a lot to see and a lot of rides. Lines were not bad. (I checked the website and went on a day that was flagged to be less people). I have 2 little ones so we did the coupon booklet since we wouldn't be able to ride all the rides. We repeated our favorite rides also. Cost was expensive as you paid an entrance fee for everyone and than the cost of the coupon booklet (you can do unlimited rides with a bracelet). We packed lunch which was nice and there is plenty of sitting everywhere. Bottom line: We definitely had a fun day! read more
