The owner and one of his top mechanics were race engineers for Honda when they still lived in Japan, so suffice it to say that you'll be in good hands with them. The reason I didn't give them higher ratings are the following: 1). They aren't computerized. Therefore they have no record of what's been done to our car. They also won't know what maintenance schedule to follow aside from the general intervals. 2). They aren't tuner friendly. What I mean is that if you've got a car with various tuner mods, they won't mess with the settings even if you ask them to. But keep in mind, this isn't a tuner shop and they don't want to be liable should anything happen. However, installation of basic tuner parts are generally performed if requested (ie suspension, brakes, intake). For basic maintenance at affordable prices, you can come to these guys. I've been doing so for nearly a decade now for both my daily driver and tuner and have had no issues. They're good people that perform good work.

Admittedly, from the outside, you might not think you are driving into a spectacular establishment. It's no Pepboys or Aamco or other chain store that has flashy (or established) curb appeal. However, if you have found him, it's because you know he's a private entrepreneur who is passionate about what he does. And it is the popular word of mouth that is keeping him afloat and growing. I will say that while I read many reviews, and base my decisions off them, I do not often write them. But this vendor deserves a written review. 1) The price is right. In fact, it's going to be better than anyone else out there. The owner is hungry and believes it's better to make less profit from repeat customers than gouge one-timers. 2) The work is great. I went in for a complete auto detail, and the hard-working crew cleaned every millimeter of my car, inside and out. Including under the hood! It's like I bought a new car when you look under there. 3) They were willing to pay attention to personal details. There were a couple scratches / stains / sticker residue that always bugged me, but I was never able to get off... and when I pointed them out to the crew, they made sure they took care of it right away. 4) Trustworthy. The owner kept to his hand-shake / word about the price, and even went above and beyond with the service he provided. I payed extra for the service (tip) not because I felt like I had to, but because I wanted to. Also, I know this seems strange, but in the past I have definitely had my quarters stolen out of my armrest (you know, for meters?) from other mysterious vendors. Ridiculous, I know. Not Avlacor.. they guys were trustworthy. All of our belongings were either right where we left them, or in a plastic bag in the trunk. (and they went out of their way to let us know that anything we don't see is in a bag safely in the trunk) I know it's a silly note, but to me, it's worth mentioning. 5) Repeat customer. I know I would come back to Rocky and his crew again. Sure, it doesn't have the "curb appeal" that a lot of other places have. But I took a chance (for me, it was a chance) and feel like Rocky deserves the best chance anyone can give him. He is highly reviewed on Citysearch, which is how I found him. Again, I don't often write reviews, but I felt it's businesses like Avlacor Auto Body and Paint that deserve and need people like us (who write reviews) to spread the good word of mouth for them.
