My Prius had a dead battery after sitting unused for four months. When I called AAA for assistance, the technician who arrived refused to replace the battery. He claimed the person who scheduled the service must have made a mistake because AAA doesn't offer battery replacement for Prius models. In reality, he simply didn't know how to handle a hybrid car. He couldn't locate the battery to jump-start it or test its condition. He started searching through my car--trying to remove the back seat and open the trunk--clearly unsure of what to do. I had already looked it up on YouTube and tried to tell him where the battery was, but he wouldn't listen. Eventually, he gave up and said they couldn't provide service. I asked him to send another technician, and that's when he suddenly changed his approach--saying he'd follow my directions and, with my permission, use the YouTube guide I mentioned. Long story short, he still failed. Later, his supervisor called and asked what they could do to avoid a bad review. I told him to just send a second technician to replace the battery. The second technician called me but also said he couldn't do the job. So I ended up going to AutoZone, where I met a mechanic named Vicente. He wasn't obligated to help me at all, but he volunteered to remove and replace the battery. It was a scorching hot day, yet he worked with a cheerful smile the entire time. His kindness and positive attitude truly brightened my day. He's truly a great asset for AutoZone and a wonderful blessing for its customers! THANK YOU, Vicente!! read more

Hahaha Anyway, this morning when I started my car, it was making a fairly rough sound and the while car was jerking back and forth. It happens when I press on the brake or park. It seemed fine while it's running. But there's no way I can just keep it moving until I get to my destination. I made an appt with the dealership but decided to cancel it bc it was 30mins drive and I didn't feel safe driving that far. My husband told me to go to Autozone because they can scan it for me for free. I walked and asked someone which they no longer scans it for you but they can lend me the scanner for me to do it myself. Brenda was the one that helped me and she showed me the instructions and all. Then another staff printed the report out for me. I hung around for a bit longer googleing if that's someone I can fix it at home by getting the parts there. Brenda again helped me by showing what I would need based on the report but the report shows more than what I can diy so she recommended a nearby autoshop that was obit a few minutes away. Even though I didn't end up getting anything, I really appreciate the staffs help. Esp Brenda, really knows her stuff! read more

Walked in to this Autozone to help get a jump and ran in to one of the best employees i've ever met. His name was Jonathan. he rushed over to help me using every starter kit he had. he even showed empathy when neither of those solutions worked. He even offered to use his car to give me a jump but his boss said it was against policy. The employees at this AutoZone are always super friendly. I usually feel a little nervous before going in but when they help me they go above and beyond to make sure I'm purchasing the correct item. I came into auto zone because my check engine light came on and I wanted to know the issue and buy whatever part I needed. There was one guy helping the semi long line and I waited patiently. When the line started to get longer, the guy asked for help and a lady in a grey shirt came out. I told her I needed help with my check engine light. She handed me the scanner and I told her I'm not sure how to use it or what to look for. She told me to look under my steering wheel for the plug which I did but I didn't see anything. So I went back inside and asked Jose V If he could help me. He told me I had to wait because there were other customers. I said I understand that but I waited for my turn and it should not matter. He literally said out if his mouth well you have to wait because it's a courtesy. It's not that big of a deal. At that point I was done. And I told him that is no way to speak to customers working in customer service. And he said ok with such sarcasm. Once I got the information I needed. I left without purchase. Refused to warranty my battery, despite being the "best one" they offer, died after 6 months, come in early to swap it before work and manager Jose denies the warranty until they charge it, 3 hour wait time, then when asked to provide proof of policy fails to do so. Helped my sister with her car situation with what she needed and even did a diagnostic check for her! Bad Customer Service. They never have anything in stock and when you ask them for help to install a battery or windshield wiper blades their answer is always "we can't". The guy told me I had to go to my dealership for wiper blades, instead I drove to PepBoys down the street , they had what I was looking for. I purchased a fan belt yesterday afternoon At the auto zone in south El Monte on Durfee and today I went in to exchange it for the next size bigger. I know I should have had my receipt in hand but these days who keeps a receipt for a fan belt. Especially when I own seven vehicles and have been a loyal customer for 25 years!! Dina Cabrera, the manager, began to loudly demean me in front of customers saying that I could not have purchased the belt yesterday because there were no warranty recorded in their system . I explained to her that the clerk had not asked for my phone number but Dina made it very clear in a loud and unprofessional manner that was not possible, basically calling me a liar in front of all the people in line. She went on to say(still with a loud and unprofessional demeanor) that the last time this belt was sold was back in July!!! I went home and looked through my garbage and found the receipt. I went back and did the exchange and no one had the common courtesy to give me an apology!!! There is a professional way to deal with customers and Dina did not demonstrate those qualities!! I rather drive further to get better customer service than to deal with an unprofessional employee who unfortunately represents auto zone!! read more

I frequent many Autozones' as a result of owning several vehicles and I just love working on my own cars. I've never experienced horrible service at any of these establishments...And recently I was in this area, south el monte, and they were wonderful! I read some of these previous reviews ... And complaining about a sign not telling you were to pay or not pay..Is the least of my worries... And not to mention Autozone is a corporation last time I checked so I'm pretty sure the employees are not allowed to create or post up their own signs on a whim.. as for my experience there, I was acknowledged upon my visit, I received correct parts at reasonable prices WITH LIFETIME WARRANTIES, the ladies that helped me out knew more about these parts & cars than some of my colleagues and service was quick without rushing me out!
