Amongst everyone contacted me, Kirby seemed more genuine and professional in the replies. Time went by with another artic freeze last December. Ok, time to revisit my request. I messaged Kirby on Yelp. He remembered our conversation and replied right away, as usual. After I sent him the pictures, he quickly replied with a quote. Then, he agreed to show up on my day off. My husband wanted me to fix the front door since the freeze we all endured over 10 years ago. I tried my DIY fix from foam patch to stuck some towels, to seal the seams with packing tape to adding a drape... Yaddi yadda. Ok. Time to call a professional. Because it's an exterior door, it has to be fiberglass door because steel door will conduct temperature from outside. Hot out hot in and cold out cold in. No lying. I researched before agreed to get it installed. Also, because of the door frame had been badly damaged with years of abuse from the weather, everything has to go. I was told by some carpenters who wanted to just replace out the bad piece of door frame with a piece of wood plank. No way, José. I was so glad that I refused to get another DIY person's work and getting charged for a professional price. According to Kirby, his Mr. Handyman Kirby business has been handed down from his grandfather to his father... for generations. Kirby specializes in doors, drywall repairs and other handyman's tasks. He was professional and polite. My neighbor came by to inquire about his business. I had to give them his card and information. He gave 100% of his attention to my project. That's very important. So, he won't get distracted and delay my project. I really appreciate his policy in taking care of his clients. Guess what, I'm going to enlarge his business card and tape it to my door. After doing some searching, Danny was one of the first to call me back. His rates were fair, and I decided to go with him to install a ceiling fan, mount a TV, and install a bathroom cabinet. I'm so glad I trusted my instincts--Danny did an outstanding job. I actually received another quote that was about $20 cheaper, but I've learned the hard way that sometimes trying to save a buck ends up costing more in the long run. That definitely wasn't the case with Danny. His work was thorough, neat, and professional. He even stayed longer than he originally estimated to make sure everything was done right. I voluntarily gave him a little extra because he truly earned it--and honestly, I wish I could've given him more. He was worth every penny. I didn't have the lightbulbs needed for the ceiling fan installation, and without hesitation, Danny offered to come back on Sunday after church to finish the job. Thankfully, my daughter was able to run to Walmart and grab what we needed while he completed the other tasks. Then they sent a link to their Google reviews which all looked pretty good, so we scheduled. One man arrived at our home to mount 4 TVs and install 2 outlets. We immediately asked about him having someone to help him with the 85" TV to which he informed us that someone else was coming shortly. We walked him through the house to show him where all the TVs needed to be moved to. In the first room, pictured below, I showed him a bookshelf that folded down into a desk and I showed him that the TV needed to be clear of the desk so it could fold down. I opened the desk and we proceeded to mark with a pencil (circled in blue) where we needed the bottom left corner of the TV to be, which gave plenty of space to allow the desk to fold down. He started in the first room and was in there for a while. Then he moved onto the second room and was in there for a little bit and then came out to let me know his partner was on his way to assist with the other two TVs. It was at this point where he told me that unfortunately he would not be able to install the outlets after all, even though he had been in the rooms for a while. So, I checked the first room and immediately tried to open the desk, but was unable to do so, because the TV was mounted in the way. I asked him to fix it and he started working on it. Then he came out and took down the third TV (which was to be moved to another location). A little bit later the second man arrived. They went into the first room where the second man was able to install the outlet like we previously agreed on. Then they moved into the second room to install the outlet there. I checked the first room and the TV was still in the way of the desk. I asked them again to fix it. After they finished with the second room, the second guy moved into the master bedroom and my husband and I went to check on the first room again. It was STILL in the wrong spot. The first man tried pushing it over to the right and my husband told him he was going to have to take it down and fix it. The second guy asked where we wanted the TV mounted and I show him. Then he takes the mount from the living room and mounts in the master bedroom. We get called back into the first room where the TV is finally out of the way of the desk, but just barely and it is nowhere lined up with the marking we made originally. Back in the living room, the second guy told us that the type of TV we bought for the living room typically didn't work with the mount they had and he mentioned that he would have to retrieve a different one. He went back and forth about whether he could have it in 20 minutes or maybe he should come back another day. We were hesitant to accept them coming back another day, they decided to try to get it done the same night. They proceed to take the TV out of the box and all its wrapping. I walk into the master bedroom and see that the TV in this room was mounted so high, that the outlet (and wire/plug) were clearly visible beneath the TV. Not hidden at all like we previously agreed. At this point I asked my husband to have them stop. He agreed to pay them for the work they had completed and had them leave. He Zelled them to the number they provided and it appeared to belong to a valet service. Immediately after they left, I scheduled an appointment with a different company to come back out to re-mount the TVs in the correct location and mount the last TV. When they pulled the TV down in the first room, we realized what kind of damage they did to our wall. I had to pay someone to repair our wall and someone else to actually mount the TV's so I requested a refund. To which they never responded. It was a complete waste of money for them to come out.
