We had the pleasure of having Kool Covers install 3 covers (patio, carport, swim spa) and a cement pad. The 23ft x13ft for a 19ft x 8ft swim spa 23000lbs wet weight 4 inch rebar). Jeremiah stayed in close contact about the appointment for the bid. He was prompt, friendly, professional and discussed freely and openly all pros and cons to each option. We had 11 other bids. Most bids were higher (2 extremely high), a couple lower (you had to question the ability to do a good job) and several in the same general range. The choice to have Kool Covers was an easy choice the honesty, experience in the industry, price, and quality expected in their work stood out. The job had to be done in strict time frames. The pad had to be poured and cured, fence removed to bring the spa in, the fence had to be back up the next day and the new siding painted and the covers installed. The pad was done less than a week after the contract was signed. Due to weather and other parties delays the spa and fence were delayed 6 weeks. Jeremiah stayed in contact via phone, text, and email. This was nice not having to worry about when on if the cover crew would be here and working in the allotted time frame. With weather cooperation and the other contractors completing their jobs Kool Covers went to work on schedule! The crew of two men worked like a well oiled team. The crew answered any questions and explained everything they were doing. Three covers one patio 10ft x27ft, one carport 20ft x20ft, and one spa cover 24ft X 14ft X 12 ft tall. Installed in one day!!! The crew swept, and left NO mess (unlike the other contractors). The spa cover and patio cover each have an additional two foot tall cement sleeve around the support poles. We learned a valuable lesson with our first covers about male dogs and rain. The old covers support pole and attaching bracket rusted due to male dogs and rain water puddling around the pole and slab attachment. Thanks to Jeremiah his willingness to discuss pros and cons, as well as positive attitude finding answers the dogs and rain won't rot/rust out at the bottom. Would I use or recommend Kool Covers YES, YES, YES for myself, family, friends or anyone wanting a professional, reputable, fairly priced and good quality job!!!

The objective of the project was to find and create more space within the existing footprint, update and upgrade our room space and the quality of materials, and lastly to create a new custom look within the home, so it would last us for many years to come. The first and most critical phase of the project was to make sure that the existing house bones could withstand the additional loads of adding a new floor to an existing structure. Levi and his team were extremely thorough, they took time to understand our wants, wishlists, and needs. They drew it all out for us so we could clearly see the changes. When it came time for demolition, framing and building the new structures - this process went very quickly - and all the new built items exceeded my expectation in terms of the quality used - as well as the specs it was built to. Additionally, Levi and his team found many existing issues with our building - that he went above and beyond to correct them while we had openings in all our walls. Levi always served as a voice of guidance, a regulation rule follower, and treated our house like it was his own. Nor corners were cut, no shortcuts were made. The best part of the project was that it was completed within the budget and on time - and in this market that is a truly remarkable accomplishment.

We've had experiences with many contractors over the years. Electricians, plumbers, general contractors, etc. It is sad to say, but it is so frustrating to find an honest and trustworthy contractor. Often times, they quote you an exorbitant price, upsell other services/products, and leave a mess or unfinished work once they get paid. Mitch has repaired our pipes after the February freeze. He also helped install new flooring to our attic space, and completed several projects for my in-laws (flooring, roofing, water heater replacement, drywall repair). We finally found our handyman! He is communicative, courteous, and extremely trustworthy. He completes his work from start to finish with the utmost detail. I mean the level of detail that is usually reserved for one's own home or close family members. It speaks to the man's code of ethics. He believes in honest work at an honest price within a reasonable timeframe. His prices are extremely fair, that is not to say cheap or expensive, but fair for the quality of work being done. I plan to continue to work with Mitch for any and all home repairs that are within his capacity.

Job Date: 7/2/2012 Project cost: $14,000.00…read more Description of work: They rebuilt the roof on my 1200 sq. ft. workshop. This included removing the old roofing, decking, ridge beam and rafters; reframing the roof, hurricane strapping, re-decking and laying on a new Timberline roof. Overall, I couldn't be happier. Their crew was out bright and early a few days BEFORE what I was expecting (based on what was specified in the contract), and by the end of the first day, all the roofing and decking had been removed, picked up and was ready for disposal. The second day was miserable - rain on and off - and bless their hearts, instead of getting out of the rain, they stayed up on our workshop spreading a huge tarp I had over our belongings so they would not get wet, THEN they got themselves out of the weather. This, in my opinion, was "over and above" what I expected - especially when they did this several times that day. The third day was much better, and for the rest of the week - clear skies and a lot of work. By that Friday I had a new, stronger roof structure installed and decked out. Saturday, the cornice crew came out and trimmed out everything, installing new Hardee board soffits and fascia and the following Monday the roofers installed our new roof. They laid approximately 16-17 squares, and stayed with the job that day till it was completed. Tuesday was some minor clean-up, a final inspection and close-out. Would I hire them again? Most definitely - as a matter of fact, here's my comments on the second job John did for me . . . Job Date: 8/10/2012 Project cost: $9,000.00 Description of work: This was the second phase of our workshop rebuild. In this part, John's crew stripped the old siding and storm sheathing off my workshop's walls, installed new storm sheathing, Tyvek house wrap, trim and Hardie-Plank siding. They finished up by painting the workshop to match our house. My workshop was pretty much ruined during Hurricane Ike (6' floodwaters). I had started some remodeling and repair work shortly before the hurricane hit. I was removing old weathered T-111 siding, removing windows, reframing and installing new OSB storm sheathing. About half of the structure was in the new OSB storm sheathing when the storm hit. Unfortunately, due to the massive amount of damage sustained to our house, my workshop had to wait till now. By the time I was in a position to rebuild my workshop, all the "storm-chasers" and transient carpenters had moved on to other projects, and construction contractors were somewhat harder to find. I had recently heard about "Angie's List" and decided to give it a try - this is where I found John's "Green Leaf Contracting" company. John's crew restored my workshop in two phases. First phase, which I've already reported on, consisted of rebuilding our roof structure and installing a new 50 year Timberline roof. This last phase involved stripping all the remaining old siding and storm sheathing down to the wall studs, installing all new storm sheathing, wrapping the entire structure in "house-wrap" moisture barrier, installing Hardie-Plank lap siding and painting the entire workshop. What was nice about this phase was we had some concerns about leaving open areas in the walls overnight (vandalism). I expressed these concerns and John's crew made sure the building was secure every evening before leaving the job site. As with any construction job, there is always going to be some clean-up afterwards and his crew did what I thought was an exceptional job of cleaning up. I had jokingly referred to my workshop rebuild as my "Sow's ear to Silk Purse Project". John's crews really did pull it off!
