Before you choose this company Get a written quote explaining each item that will be done. Ask for it to be written so you can understand what will be done, not what the irrigation managers understand. Be on site when the workers come to do the work. Do a walk through before they begin and make sure they do a run through after they finish the work. Keep after GT landscape to give you a timely invoice. (They sent our invoice 6 months after service and then wanted payment immediately.) Make sure you get a guarantee for the work. You don't want to have to have another company come and re-do the work because GT landscape didn't do it correctly. read more

After 4 years of good service, we cancelled GT landscape, something has happened at this company, the work they do has gotten horrible. It was slow at first; they just spent less and less time at my property. Then recently they just stopped doing the things they were contracted to do. It got to the point that I called into complain. After to speaking with Mary 4 times no one called me back. They work they do is bad now. And the customer service DOES NOT EXIST! read more

I must add my one star rating to the many that are already posted. I had a very bad experience with GT Landscape. There were long waits before they provided requested services. Communication on their end was slow and poor. They installed a new filter for my irrigation system, but offered no instruction or training as to how to maintain the system. When it failed multiple times, they charged a small fortune to fix it. When I asked them to resolve the situation, they didn't answer for two weeks, then sent an email stating that everything was my fault, and they were not responsible for anything. I have switched to Abiqua and have gotten outstanding service from them at a much better price! read more

I agree with the other 1 star reviews. This company used to be good years ago, but the good landscaping guys left. Now they do a bad job and are not honest. Each year their service has been getting worse. When you ask them to come back to do the job right, Johnny, the service manager is super defensive. Last year they slipped a term in the renewal contract that wasn't there before that required payment of 10% of the remaining time of the contract if you wanted to cancel with them. So they are doing a terrible job and you cancel their contract. They you have to pay them. Also, when you give them notice that you are canceling, they will stop showing up to do the work. One of the last two times, they only came 1/2 hr for a big apartment complex. We brought it to Johnny's attention and he said that they had done extra work the other times in the year. So it was OK to only do 1/2 hr of landscaping. Anyway, do yourself a big favor and avoid this company! read more

Sadly, all the negative reviews here are correct....based upon our experience. Just an expensive Mow & Blow with a different crew almost every other visit. Can't keep well qualified help. They have to be TOLD what services they're supose to be providing per their contract. Ruined a pond liner but, vehemently denied it. After several heated emails and two visits by supervisors they finally relented and acknowledged culpability. "Rosie" of the office staff schedules all the work crews and handles finance and billing. When I informed her that we were NOT going to renew our contract she could have cared less. Didn't ask why or express dissappointment from a business perspective. She's as dry as toast. She should treat herself and buy some personality. Very relieved to be done with sham. read more

I do not recommend this company. Terrible customer service and supervisors had no intention to address the issue and nothing is ever resolved. Apparently, customers do not matter to them and customer's feedback means nothing. I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt that they do a good job. I wouldn't know as I didn't go with them. I needed a fairly simple irrigation system. A small lawn in front, medium size in back. Small amount of shrubs back and front, plus a valve for future irrigation on a hillside, somewhere down the road. The person that did it put in sprayers back front for the lawns on two separate zones, a third zone for the shrubs on drip, and an unused zone for future expansion. He did it for $2,500. No doubt Green Thumb would have put in more zones etc. etc. But here's the thing, they wanted $7,700. Again, I do not question they might have done something better, but would it have been $5,200 better? I guess each customer has the choice, right! read more

I am the manager of an apartment complex and it is very difficult to find a crew that is willing to cover all needed aspects of my property. The Green Thumb crew is VERY affordable and do phenomenal work! They had a crew of 2 guys come out to my property and within 1 hour the guys did more work than 4 months of my previous company. The flower beds were weeded, the bushes cut back, areas that have been ignored since last year were taken care of, and the entire property looks 1000 times better! Their supervisor is really flexible with coming out and doing property walk-throughs to make sure everything I was worked on gets accomplished, and they are very flexible with when the weekly crew comes out. I have worked with a lot of venders and Green Thumb is by far the best I have come in contact with! Very friendly, very affordable, and very profession. I recommend them over anyone else! read more

Never do business with these people. They are the most disgusting and dishonest landscaping company we had dealt with. I don't even know where to start. My husband called 5 different landscaping companies about winterizing our sprinkler and four of them were so HONEST enough to tell us that we don't need it anymore since it was the last week of January and the temperatures are not below freezing. Unfortunately out of the 5 we called Green Thumb said they will come out for free estimate. And said they will call before they will do so. But since we were convinced that we didn't need this service. And no calls were made to confirm they were coming. We thought we are good. Until i got a frantic call from my 80 year old mom that someone was knocking hard at our door. She is alone and don't just open the door unless someone is with her. Sure enough the guy left his estimate $65 clearly said estimate job and that someone needs to accept and sign it. But no one signed and agreed to it in paper or even by phone. So we never called because it's just an estimate. After a week we got a bill stating that we owe them now $65 because they performed the job. Which is crazy. How can they do it when the faucets for the sprinkler are inside my property and my mom didn't open the door. I also have locks on my fence so how did the guy get in. I called them about this but they insisted the work has been done. I talked to a Jackie and told her what happened but got nowhere. When i also got my bill/ invoice i was already set up for a monthly billing every 25th of the month. I ask Jackie about it but her explanation made no sense at all. How can you set me up on your billing system when i did not even agree to any of these!!! I just wasted my time and energy talking to her. I just paid her. I hope this kind of company will have its end sooner than later. I told her i will never do business with them instead of making me feel better as a customer, she told me. Don't let them test your backflow preventer - especially if they show up UNANNOUNCED at your door... I don't know anything about their arborist credentials, but I'm not happy with their backflow testing. While I'm sure it passes as legal, I had one of their employees knock on my door before I'd even gotten my City of Salem notice that I needed to have my "backflow-prevention-assembly" tested... They knew my date was coming up, and as they were right across the street testing my neighbor's assembly they rang my bell. I admit that I was a bit confused because I'd had to have the preventer replaced during the last year because someone drove into my yard and crushed my sprinkler valve box (and I'll wager $100 that driver was texting.) No price was mentioned, though I asked if he needed a check and he told me that they'd bill me. I gave the go-ahead... When I got the bill, it was at or near the top of the range - $45, vs the coupons that I received AFTER I got the City's notice, for $27! If that wasn't enough, nearly TWO months later I received a letter from the Salem water department stating that they "had not received a valid test report indicating that my assembly has been tested as is operating properly". Needless to say, this is NOT GOOD SERVICE! read more

After a year long contract with this company I cannot recommend them. I will not recommend them! Following through on contract issues with this company has been an issue since day one! They constantly change crews and the work becomes mediocre at best. Any attempt to address a issue and they refer you back to the ladies in the office, who then have to call into a foreman, who then have to contact the crew..blah blah blah. All we are ever told is "it will be addressed and looked into" but nothing is ever ever ever resolved! We chose this company and have paid their expensive rates over the last year and our yard looks unmowed currently. They come for approximately 10 to 15 minutes and that's it. We question if they've ever been here each and every time. They now have stopped leaving door hangers to even let us know that they've been here. My yard should look good enough to know if they've been here or not. Disgusted with this company. We are done. Thank goodness. read more

I would highly recommend that you look for another landscape maintenance company in the Salem area. They were great during the scoping of our weekly service plan, providing a quote in near real-time. However, once the contract is signed the service falls short. We had signed up for full-service, to basically take care of everything. The crew that showed up simply edged and mowed and were gone as fast as can be, just like the ground coverings they destroyed. In fact they had no clue that we were full-service, a case where the office wasn't communicating with the crew. We asked for the gentlemen that contracted the service to come out multiple times as the crew wasn't doing what was supposed to be done and he stood us up multiple times. This all happened within the first month and we knew this wasn't going to be a good partnership. They don't meet their brand promise, agreements and therefore I wouldn't recommend. read more

Let me echo the other poor reviews...I had high hopes for this company when one of the managers came out and reviewed with me the MANY things I wasn't happy with when we started our 1 year contract. He took photos, agreed with my concerns, and promised they would be addressed. Not only were they not addressed, I wasn't ever able to reach him again (no returned emails or calls). Every time a crew came out, they were either there a very short time or performed questionable work. Once they piled yard debris along my neighbor's fence forcing him to remove the mess. Don't buy into their contract pitch that you'll get a better return on the value during the months when there is more yard work to be done.
