Beware of GTC! They do not care for customer experience. I was seeing Avatar and had some talkers and on their cell phone. I asked a manager earlier to mitigate the issue. They came in and saw nothing. Another 45 minutes of this had happened, but this time I went ahead and said something to them directly. The woman and, mind you a mother, started cursing at me. I went and got another supervisor who was with a cop. I told them what was happening. As I was heading back to the theater, out comes the woman still cursing at me. With the cop and manager standing there, she admits this was happening. Instead of reprimanding her, the manager said she could move me and give me tickets while nothing happens to this lady and her children (one of them even sleeping btw). The cop said they can't do anything because it's heresy, but yet the woman admitted that it was happening. read more

This is a local theater chain (the G stands for Georgia). I found a movie to see despite their website being clunky and making it tough to figure out what was showing. It was a smallish place inside, with no restrooms past the ticket checking unless I missed them (you could go out and come back in I suppose). The seats were spread out and quite comfortable recliners, so at least you're getting a good experience there. It's not a huge screen place to see a blockbuster, though, so I would only occasionally look here. read more

Went to see Captain America: Brave New World. Posted time was 4:30 and I got there around 4:15 so plenty of time to buy my ticket and get snacks. There was no one posted in booths to buy a ticket but there were kiosk just inside the door. I was a bit disappointed they didn't have tap to pay, so I ended up buying a ticket on my phone which was about $8.50 w/taxes and fees. I used the restroom, they were clean and had soap, not sanitizer because that seems to be a thing lately but no paper towels, just blow dryers. Then I moseyed on over to the snack bar and got a #2 combo which was a large popcorn & drink with one bag of candy, $24! I think I'll go back to sneaking things in the movies because that's crazy! Went to enter the theater and told I couldn't use my phone as the ticket so I had to go print it on the kiosk. *Deep breath* once I finally got to my seat on the back row, I proceeded to recline and unless I'm dense and couldn't figure it out, they didn't recline back, only out. Is it like the back row of the plane!? Any who, I'll have to check out other theaters to determine if this one is worth coming back to. read more

Always driven by, but never visited. Yesterday that changed. We came to see Onward, which I highly recommend by the way. It was a little confusing as you buy tickets at the concession stand, but I enjoyed one transaction for everything. They have a rewards program that I didn't know about. You have to sign up 24 hours before hand so we didn't get credit for anything we got yesterday which is a little disheartening. The theater we got was huge and had reclining seats. Honestly looking at it from the outside, I wasn't expecting such nice and spacious seats. Because our two year old was lap sitting, we didn't have to pay for him, but honestly he could easily fit with big sis in the same chair and still have room. I liked that the drinks were refillable, especially the icee machines. I had a very happy four year old. Not sure how crazy it gets during peak times, but we enjoyed our visit, had clean restrooms, and friendly staff. I can say I had a better experience here than the other theater. Came for an affordable movie on Tuesday. Prepaid for my ticket, manager who said her name was Grace, was not helpful. There system was down, not my fault. And said she couldn't give me popcorn for the price with my loyalty, which was the purpose of coming on this particular day. She then told me she couldn't refund me because the system was down. I said I want a refund, unless she could give me popcorn for the loyalty price. She gave me a refund, rudely and annoyed. she wasn't apologetic of my inconvenience. she didn't give me all my money and i had to return back to get it. absolutely ridiculous. i will never be returning. situation could have been handled better and if your system is down make it right for the customer read more

So I wanted to bring my son out tonight to see a movie. We decided to see Onward, and the theater we usually go to (Riverwatch in Augusta) only had really late showings. This theater is right down the street from us (only like 5 mins away), and we always drive by it but never go in. They had a 7:30 showing of the movie so I figured I'd try it out. It is literally just like Riverwatch. The seats recline and are comfy, and I think they have free refills on drinks. Actually, I forgot to ask about that, haha. But they do have the drink machines outside of the concession stand. Everyone there was very nice, and the theater looked clean. We will definitely be coming back. Especially since it's so such much closer than Augusta. read more

Can you say, UPGRADE...I'm talking first class people. The only thing that would make it better is if they served alcoholic beverages and dinner. I took my daughter to see Frozen II (again) and was pleasantly surprised when we walked in to see the new setup/concessions. It's all shiny and new, plenty of choices and clean. I'm a purist, either Reese's Pieces (E.T. left a big impression on me), Raisinets or popcorn. I didn't pay much attention to the rest of the menu aside from seeing nachos and Nathan's hotdogs being offered. My point being-lots of options. Moving along, you get to choose your seats when you purchase your tickets and I love that because sometimes I get anxious having to find seats and not being too close to the screen or seated closely by Mr. or Mrs. Perfume. There really aren't any bad seats in the house and there's plenty of space to literally kick back and relax in those sweet reclining chairs. I don't even have to move my legs for people to get by. High five! The bathrooms could've used an upgrade but I'm not sitting on that chair for over an hour...so the money was allocated to the appropriate places. read more

So this theater is conveniently located in Evans and close to Grovetown. The staff is generally friendly, willing to accommodate sickening amounts of butter on the popcorn, and better yet...the popcorn isn't burned! The sofa dispenser is behind the counter so they have varying sizes, and one option with unlimited amounts. A combo with one soda and medium popcorn is 11.00. The theater is clean as are the bathrooms. The location is safe, as well. Military discount on tickets at certain times and there is a reward programs! Seats do not decline. It's a very cold theater and also very loud. Overall - great location and service for a theater. read more

I really didn't feel like driving cross town to Riverside GTC Cinema so I stopped and tried evens cinema and was very surprised at the renovations that I seen. Negatives first for this movie theater- *** NO MILITARY Discount*** I went on a slow Monday night. Service was lacking, the staff is rude and short with movie-goers. There is no reward program. The theater has an unpleasant urine odor. The screen was tiny, and had a scratch of another color across it. On the positive side... Sound system was at a nice volume, seats were comfortable and pop corn was actually good. Not my favorite if I am spending movie night money. Needs improvement. read more

I much prefer this theater to the one in Augusta if I can help it. It's much cleaner, and the concession is comparable to the other theatre as well. It doesn't show all of the new releases but beggars not be choosers when you want a shorter line, comfortable air and no stickiness underneath your shoes. They're ran out of nachos the last time I was here but maybe it was a sign to slow down on the munchies. Their ICEE machine was up and running thankfully as the Burger King across the street doesn't sell them. I really only need nachos and soda anyhow. read more

I think this is the best movie theater in the area. I probably feel this way because it's never really flooded with a lot of kids and it's smaller. I have visited Evans 14 Stadium several times. I always enjoy my experience. The theater is usually showing new releases. It doesn't have a very large lobby, but it is large enough to accommodate a crowd for a popular new release. The ticket booth is a breeze. The staff gets your tickets quickly. I may have overlooked it, but I don't recall seeing an electronic ticketing station at the theater. If they do have one...Great! If they don't, then that is a needed upgrade. The concessions area is nice and clean. The food and beverages are overpriced, but that is to be expected. The seating is my favorite part about the theaters. The seats are already in a laid back position for your viewing ease and comfort. The seats are clean too. I've never sat in a stained seat. I think this one of the things that keeps me visiting. The parking lot is huge with plenty of parking. The Evans 14 Stadium is located near a bunch of restaurants, so you can actually grab dinner and a movie. It's not hard to get to; the theater actually has about four entry locations from the highway, which is really helpful after leaving a packed movie. I like this location and I will continue to visit for the latest blockbusters! read more

Visiting with some friends for the Labor Day weekend. We took the kids to see a movie at the GTC theater. We arrived early for the show and were hoping they had some arcade type games to pass the time. Unfortunately, we didn't see any. Games would be a nice feature to add at this location. Confession stand prices were average for theaters. With a large popcorn and large drink, you do receive a free refill (if you can eat and drink that much!). :). I believe matinee prices were $8.00 each? No recliner seats at this location. Actually, the seats were very uncomfortable. My friend and I noticed that you can feel a bar in the seat when you sit down. It's near the back of the seat cushion. I can't remember the last time I had a bad seat at a theater - maybe dollar theater days?? Staff was friendly. The location was clean. Picture quality was ok, but in general I would rank this location lower than my local AMC or Regal cinemas. Would probably try another theater chain the next time to compare theaters in this area. read more

I love the location convenience of this theatre. It's away from the hubbub of what seems to be the primary shopping area in Augusta. The seats are very comfortable even though they don't recline. Recliner seats are not very good for people who fall asleep easily! We came to the theater on a Friday afternoon. Not crowded at all. The popcorn was a little stale. My husband asked for fresh, watched them pop it fresh, but it still was stale. It just didn't feel fresh. Do unpopped kernels get stale? One of the nicer movie theaters I've been in. The seats were very comfortable (to the point that I fell asleep during the movie). They did not play an overwhelming amount of ads and previews (which is a good thing). Their popcorn was fresh and tasted great. They did not offer full service to your seat - just a normal movie theater. I'd go there again. read more

You have some really cool places to eat nearby(check on the Yelp app) parking is kind of tight depending when you come here but i always find find a good spot, especially when it's bad weather.I don't wait on the booth line for tickets as I always get them online so if i'm running late I don't have to wait, especially when your meeting someone and they are late! Clean seats and floors, nice staff,and comfortable seats. This place has been here for awhile and I see some areas need a face lift but let's get real your here to watch a movie not do a sleepover .We only have only 4 movie spots in a 10 mile area and I would place this one at #2 on my list. read more

Worst customer service i have ever seen. They oversold the movie my family and i were trying to see on christmas day. We had bought the tickets through fandango and found that our seats were not available when we arrived. While trying to get help from an employee we were brushed off being told there were no seats anywhere, even in any other movie and that there was nothing to do. When we asked if he was a manager or if there was anyone we could talk to to help. he told us he was a manager and there was nothing he could do but refund our tickets. We told him we just wanted to see a movie, and asked if there is anything he could do for us or someone who else who could help. We had driven from thomson, a half hour drive, to see a movie on christmas day. He just kept shrugging as he was eyeing the man in a blue shirt pretending to sweep while listening to us just 10 feet away. Seeing where he was eyeing we asked if this was the manager. Upon asking he dropped the sweeping facade and told us that they didn't sell the tickets so this was not their responsibility. There was no customer service. If you go here be prepared to be treated like cattle and talked down to. This was Christmas of all days. We were given a refund and a cold shoulder. This is the theatre of choice that I prefer to go to. Even though it miles away from where I live, I make the trekk every time. What keeps me coming back? Quick entrance and super clean bathrooms. Movie theaters are pricey little hells-on-earth about 60% of the time. This place is no different. You get lots of gypsies creeping around, tons of loud teenagers on the weekends, and people who apparently like to spend money on movie tickets so they can sit down and talk for 2 hours. But as far as godawful movie theaters go, this one is not as bad as the rest. It's less crowded, the seats are comfortable, and the seating is graduated enough that if someone sits in front of you (and someone ALWAYS sits in front of you), you can probably still see the screen. If you have to go to a theater (and can't just wait to see something at the dollar cinema), this is the one to go to. read more

Have been going to GTC Evans since it started back in the 1995 or so. While I love the new reclining seats I wish the popcorn was not so awful. Today it was so salty we couldn't eat it. It was the same way a couple of weeks ago. PLEASE fix the popcorn. It used to be good. And I don't want to hear it's a company thing because River Watch's popcorn is just perfect and that's the same movie chain. I wholeheartedly agree with other reviewers who have said this is the best movie theater in the area. In my experience, it's always kept clean, the volume is kept at a decent level (not "blow out your eardrums"), the staff is friendly, and they frequently have someone in to remind folks they will be escorted out if they mess with their cell phones during the movie. Prices are what you expect for a theater - high, but the same you'll find anywhere. The Fandango stand inside never has a line, so I almost always use that instead of the front desk. The only thing I wish the theater would do is get that upstairs arcade up and running again. We tend to show up early to movies, and I always thought that was a good way to spend time with the kids (out of everyone's hair downstairs). read more

This is the safest Movie Theater in our area. They always have at least two Deputy Sheriffs there, right at the entrances, in uniform, and lock and loaded. And our Sheriff lets them park their police cars right out front. Since we don't live in the warm and fuzzy world I grew up in, that's getting real important. But the theater went and upgraded to the reserved seats, the recliners and the snack bar is competitive but expensive, as they all are. They have a lot of very nice young people and they're always nice as they can be. Getting snacks is well roped off and crowds easily access their snacks. The new screens smell new and people don't trash them at all, like others do. As I say, if you've got children or grand children and you want a safe place, well controlled, state of the art sound system, sometimes 3D, when needed, this is good as it gets. I never hear any filthy language around my grand children in or out of the movie. As a father and grand father, most of you can relate to all I'm saying. The whole theater is new again. I've noticed mostly families and a few groups of people on dates go here. read more

I know it's all personal preference, but this is my main movie theater of choice in the Augusta area. The Regal Theater is always crowded with long lines and even if you use Fandango, you can still wait for a while. Evans Theater is smaller, but it's great just for having smaller lines. Their theaters are comparable and popcorn and soda is the same anywhere you go to see a movie. They have a police presence although not really necessary, but Columbia County does really well to keep the patrons safe. The staff is friendly, the restrooms are clean, and so are the theaters themselves. Extra bonus, I watched one of their concession employees assist a wheelchair patron into the theater with their snacks and drinks. That to me makes a big difference when you frequent a business! read more

There were no bad seats, and the sets are big enough and comfortable. The sound level was good. My only problem is- the further up you go, the more reclined the seats. I kinda felt like I was sitting in the lap of the people behind me. The popcorn was good. Definitely go back. Clean floors and seats. read more

Older, older movie theatre. I'm used to Dbox, 3D, etc. They don't offer a military discount and ladies you purchase tickets from don't even seem like they want to be there. I know there is a Regal in Augusta, but maybe they need to update this movie theatre to keep up with demand. read more

I definitely recommend this movie theater. I think it's one of the best movie theater in the whole Augusta area. It's not always packed, making it feel more 'at peace,' and not having to wait for a long time. The location is very convenient, because it is local and close-by.
