Vlad #2 was the expert this time and he gave me the rundown for what happened and how he fixed the issue. I was happy with the final cost for the repair. One of the things that I like about the gentlemen at ARC, besides knowing their stuff, is their flexibility. I work a lot, so my schedule is difficult to maneuver around most repair peoples' schedules. Vlad was able to accommodate me and come out on the same evening that I made the request on Yelp. There was great up front communication in reviewing what I wanted to do, and we came up with a plan for purchasing materials and having him do the project. Note this was more of a custom job with pre-determined kits from a retailer, so not a typical project he's worked on, but he assured me multiple times that he could do the project with no issues. Unfortunately, once he started things took a turn. The instructions weren't followed, measurements were off, permit wasn't pulled, and there were multiple other issues that came up that resulted in me having to fire him and hire someone else. We did come up with an exit agreement in terms of fixing repairs and covering damages which was much appreciated. If you're looking for general fence repair, and/or a standard fence install, I would recommend. Just make sure you do you homework, sign a contract, and ensure permit is pulled.

He cleanly removed some of the baseboard so the shelves would be flush with the walls, added quarter round to the base, and caulked the edges for a seamless, built-in look that completely elevated the space. He also relocated our Nest thermostat to the opposite side of the wall. Benjamin has done a variety of other projects, too, including installing a storm door in our sunroom, repairing and replacing rotted wood, and replacing the interior door trim. I regret hiring them to build a screened in porch…read more The quality of work is poor. Parts of the construction are failing less than two years after construction. The roof already leaks and they say they'll try to fix it if we sign a new contract with them. They say it's ice dams but cannot explain why the leaks occurred when there was neither ice nor snow near the seam they say is leaking. The exterior door repeatedly sagged and could not be opened. They came out to fix the door this summer (after many phone calls over a period of months) and nailed a big plywood board over the screen door to strengthen it - that's the permanent solution. The current door and frame are still both visibly crooked. It looks completely unprofessional and we feel like we're going to need to hire another professional to have the door reframed and replaced. The porch was not built according to the original agreement. We paid for helical screw pilings, but Miller Construction switched to cheaper concrete pilings without any notification, did not offer a refund for the difference in cost, and would not talk to us during construction to discuss the situation despite repeated requests. We paid for insulation throughout the addition, but the building was not framed to allow space for insulation in many sections of the room, so we have an addition that is only partially insulated. The communication with Miller Construction has always been poor. We've had multiple promises to call or come out to look at the various issues, but the promises are rarely kept. For the first few months after contracting with us, communication was so lacking we seriously questioned whether the company had run off with the initial payment. They hadn't, but they didn't reach out to us until months later when a crew showed up at the house unannounced. I wouldn't hire them again.

Asked for a $150 more on top of the $650 I was quoted, which was fine because it was a big job and $650 was already by far the best deal I'd found. Paid via Zelle. - Cut up logs and stumps with a chainsaw and used a tarp and wheelbarrow to move all the stuff across half an acre. - Polite, expedient, considerate. I fed him lunch and coffee and water. I wouldn't hesitate to have these dudes back.
