I called Ostvig in Aug to set up a chlorosis treatment in Fall, maybe Oct. Since the first of Oct I have called every week to find out if I am on the schedule. Each call is answered by a very courteous answering service that states I will get a call back in 24 hours. I've called each week over the last three weeks and no one has called me back. Ostvig is busy. I get that. Assign someone to call and communicate. It's what the well run, reputable , customer focused companies do. Step it up. read more

Ostvig did a great job removing a few dead and problem trees. Highly skilled guys who did not let a single branch hit our house and cleaned up quickly leaving no sign of debris behind. We had Ostvig out to remove several trees from our property. Josh at Ostvig came out and I had an estimate within a day. The crew sent out were exceptional... what else can I say. A total of seven trees were cut, chipped, and stumped... very quickly. I had also requested they trim a lot of other trees across our property, and that was also completed (with the exception of a couple of trees that had a vehicles under them) with great speed and professionalism. We recently had Ostvig out for a tree trimming and removal job. we had 3 trees that needed shaping and thining, and removal of 2 trees and several bushes. the crew they sent out did an excellent job, all the trees look great. for the tree and bush removal, they did a great job on the stumps we paid to have ground. They also did great job cleaning up, hardly a branch left when they were through. Also very little lawn damage considering the amount of work done. Russ is very slow to respond to any communication and not very thorough or clear which resulted in a misunderstanding and eventually to their refusal to do the work. Russ originally visited, reviewed the work and gave a verbal quote which we agreed to pay. The work to be done was to trim several trees around the house and to remove 3 trees. 6 days later we received the quote. I immediately signed and returned the agreement with a note added that I assumed that the tree removal included the removal of the stumps (which was not noted in the agreement). When I still had not received any response a week after returning the agreement with the notes, I sent another email that I was concerned about the lack of response to my emails. He did reply to that email and said he needed to visit again to actually see the other trees that I wanted to have removed. At that time, he did not mention my note saying that I expected the stumps to be removed also. 6 days after the 2nd visit, I received the revised quote. This quote noted the chipping of some stumps but not 2 of the ones on the original quote. I added a note that I expected those 2 trees to include chipping and signed and returned the quote. The next day he replied that we had not discussed the removals of those stumps and they could do that but it would require added cost. I sent an email explaining why I felt we had talked about it and pointed out that he had not objected to my note on the original quote. He then emailed that he would not do the work at all. I immediately replied that I wanted them to do the work and that I would pay for the chipping of the 2 stumps in question. He did not have the courtesy of responding or acknowledging that email. So, we were left in the lurch a month after I thought we had an agreement. Very disappointing! read more
