Searching yelp for a lunch spot while working out here today. Small place with great customer service. Ordered a chicken burrito. The meat had great flavor! Rice was a little hard but everything was fresh and yummy. They don't have chips, was kinda bummed about that. Price was really good! 11 bucks for the burrito and an iced tea. I like this place because it's authentic, not American-ized food. I'm the only non-hispanic in the place. I ordered shrimp, chicken, and carnitas tacos. 3.99 for 4 small shrimp is a bit pricey for that taco, and the corn tortillas not doubled up. So eating with a fork as it tore immediately from the sauces. Shrimp was OK, chicken better, but the flavor was in the carnitas. They offer a salsa toppings bar but not self-service. Add lettuce, tomatoes, onion, and cilantro. Other toppings as cheese, sour cream, salsa, for a price. A lime piece for each one adds nice citrus touch. Driving through between SC and VA, wanted something good and to support a local business (especially during Covid). Pleased to see protocols being followed. Now, on to the food. I use to love this place but now there is a different owner and I do not recommend it! This new owner doesn't understand the value of a happy customer nor fear the impact of an unhappy customer. I stopped in yesterday and ordered a bean burrito deluxe to take out. When I got home and began to eat, I noticed a lot of rice was falling out of the burrito. I decided to open it up and discovered I was given a burrito stuffed with all rice and no beans. I immediately called the store and told the owner. He asked if I was close enough to come back and get another burrito. I told him I was 10 miles away. He told me to come back today and he would give me a burrito with beans. It was really an inconvience to drive there today but I made the trip and asked for my corrected bean burrito. He changed his words and said he told me he would give me a discounted burrito. This was my first time to this Latin Grill. First of all, I was pleasantly surprised at the selection on the menu. I had 1 steak and 1 chicken taco, and tried the pupusa. All of these were excellent. So happy I found this place! It's a little wait but worth it. I read from the reviews there's horchata so I'll be back to try it lol. When the food comes out you get to pick out your sauces and extra garnishes. Lime was a must along with pickled cabbage and cilantro! I had to order Tomato sauce for the pupusas. The mild verde sauce was great! Not so much for my fiancé lol. They only had fork silverware. EVERYTHING tasted absolutely FRESH. Except the guacamole. Let's just say I would not order guacamole from Guacamole Latin Grill. Staff here is very nice. No complaints, but they did NOT have guacamole The staff that were assisting with my order were bilingual (fluent English & Spanish) ... if you're worried about that. It's been better. I loved Guacamole before covid.n Now I'll wait to order again AFTER the problems with covid are gone. I think the A-Team cooks are sheltering at home. I hope they are doing well. Tonights order was 3 Carnitas Tostadas,cooked well done, with slaw and vegi's except cilantro, and 2 cups medium salsa (green). 1 sauce cup, no slaw, greasy carnita meat. We also ordered another meal. Quesadilla and Tostada also short a sauce cup with greasy carnita meat. They may be pre-cooking the meat and letting it sit in a warmer. It may make things easier in the kitchen but but the product suffers. How they were was great, now, not so much. I hope they are great again soon. read more

Crystal Taqueria is next door, and maybe they used to be affiliated, but they seem to have claimed their independence now. Also, i didnt find them to be expensive at all. Atmosphere: sort of like a small Chipotle, clean, new trendy furniture/fixtures, American music playing. Food: standard tacos/burritos/quesadillas but also tostadas and (!!) pupusas. standard array of meats, carne asada, al pastor, pollo, carnitas, ground beef, but they also have lengua. for the pupusas, they even have loroco, which is a flower bud from central america (never seen it before). toppings bar where you can add veggies and salsas, the slaw they have is an excellent crisp palate cleanser. they're medium salsa is spicier than you expect (but not too spicy). Service: excellent. the young man working the front is bilingual, very friendly. the young lady working the kitchen gets your food out quickly. I have only tried their bean and cheese pupusas and their horchata, but judging from my experience with those two items I can genuinely recommend this restaurant. Service is quick, the food is fairly priced, the pupusas are quite large and the horchata is damn good, though not the typical Mexican version you may accustomed to. Give this spot a try! read more
