I couldn't have chosen a better place for my father to be laid out. Even coinciding everything with having taps being played and a flag being given to my mom, as my father was in the service. In summary: Authentically-Caring, Attuned to Our Unique Desires followed through with Detail-Oriented Execution My Dad passed away just prior to the Christmas holiday and during the Snowstorm of the Century -certainly not the best timing. From my first phone call with Samantha Burke, her compassionate tone and patience with my numerous phone calls was superb. General Manager, Tim Summerford, took care of us like we were his own family and he made the Arrangement process comfortable, and respectful and put my family at ease. When it came time to do the printing, on the day before Christmas Eve, Amy Thompson stayed late -despite the treacherous weather & road conditions, She pleasantly accommodated my interminable revisions and she even caught a mistake that I made. She ensured everything was done on time despite it being a holiday weekend. On Christmas Eve day, with the roads still treacherous, Erica Simmer showed authentic care about our situation, from the moment I walked in. Her calming demeanor and easygoing responsiveness to my multiple last-minute requests lightened my burden immensely, during a time when I had millions of thoughts going through my head. On the day of the service, Tim Summerford, Tom Townsend, Laura Morrissey, John Desmond, and Bill Frazier all made sure the Visitation, Viewing and Funeral Mass went so smoothly that our family did not have to think of anything. All of our last-minute requests were met with the quiet confidence and responsiveness of a five-star concierge. My Mom, who does the funeral coordination at her Parish, said "everything was perfect." and I would agree. Afterward, they provided a Compassion Help Line, to help with the grieving process at no cost. Funeral services are not something most of us shop for every day. I hope in some small way this enables you to make an informed and wise decision, to select the team at Pixley Funeral Home for one of the most important days of your life, whether you are planning ahead or have an immediate need. I strongly suggest you plan ahead. It makes a world of difference.

The funeral home (Rachel) would not return MULTIPLE phone calls from my funeral director. Finally my husband got a hold of her and told her to pick up the phone and call him. My father died when I was 10 and my mom stressed over and over the vault, plot, and opening and closing had been paid for. All three of us children heard that year after year. Fast forward 45 years later, and they can't find any proof of that, just the plot and vault. Unfortunately , we are having trouble locating the original paperwork after 45 years as well. Our funeral director finds it very odd that that wasn't paid for as well. Whatever, so now we have to pay $4k for the opening and closing which is SIGNIFICANTLY higher than other cemeteries. I have no choice as to pay that as mom wanted to be by my dad. Last summer this cemetery was a weedy, nasty mess. Nobody was taking care of it. By the way, has anyone bothered to fix the water spicket by the Rock of Ages area near the parking lot? It's been broken for like 5 years!!! Eventually when we clean mom's house out we will stumble upon that paperwork. She and her friend purchased this together so I know it was taken care of. I can't believe I have to leave my mother here. Please find another cemetery. Maybe they will use our $4k to hire a lawn crew.

I have to agree with the Clif post. This place really did take advantage of a grieving family…read more The facility is definitely beautiful and I think that's what brings people in. I have never seen such an awful job on a loved one. It was so bad that the deceased was unrecognizable. The disappearance of beer and the attitude when asked about picking up the liquor was just disturbing and unprofessional. Another thing that happened was the fact that a family member left their cigarettes in a "safe" place so they did not have to carry them around in their pocket. It seems that someone there felt this meant it was a free for all and helped themselves to most of them. I am so glad I kept my purse with me at all times. Very little integrity here. The owner or manager really needs to screen their employees better and let them know that preying on grieving families is despicable and down right low. Karma...

First, I have no idea how they could have made my loved one look so unlike himself. From overzealous makeup to being able to see stitches - it was awful. When we asked where we could tuck away our personal items, we were initially told to stow our things in the large closet near the front door. Um, that was a long distance from where we'd be spending our time. It took two more inquiries to find out that there is a closet for family right by the entrance to the viewing room. When the long day ended, it was nice to see that employees ( a couple of girls, under 21 years old, were around all day and we assume that this was their job) had loaded a cart with left over food, soft drinks, wine and beer. BUT, when we loaded all of this into our vehicles, a 12 pack of beer was missing. Just disappeared. Also, one of the folks who came for the wake had placed a bottle of liquor in the casket. It was also missing. We realized all of this the next day. When a family member called to inquire where the liquor bottle was, there was some hesitation on the phone and then finally an admission that the liquor was still at the funeral home. We went to pick that up. It should have been on that cart! You can't cremate a bottle of booze and it did NOT belong to the funeral home. We did not bother with the beer - we had no proof that their employees took that, but everything was intact until everyone attended the closed door service at 7PM. It is completely unprofessional to have kept the liquor. And under age employees stealing beer? The people working here are disgusting, preying on the grieving and hoping we wouldn't notice the missing items. DO NOT send your loved one here for any reason. Truly despicable actions dressed up in a pretty package. Not to mention the horrible job in presenting our family member for visitation. One star is too high a rating!
