My staffordshire terrier is on the high energy end, so she needs to be paired with larger dogs and/or equivalently crazy dogs :). They do slow introductions to all the dogs and see how they pair well. There are a ton of separated areas for different groups to play. The Facebook photos are awesome to see how much fun they are having during the day. It's the best 100$ or so per month I spend regularly. Keeps my dog tired, socialized, and exercised.

It was critical to find a kennel that was a good fit for him. We had been using another boarding facility for the past ten years and had been pretty happy with them for most of that time. Due to a detour, I happened to drive by FurrWoods and saw their sign. So, we scheduled a time to take a tour. Oscar was reactive to the owner and staff and was barking and lunging at them. They knew exactly how to greet him and put him at ease. Within minutes, he was comfortable and leaning in for ear scratches. We took Oscar out to the play yards and put him in one by himself. He immediately went to the fence and happily greeted the other pups in the adjacent yard. The play yards here are repurposed astroturf from a football field, and the surface is immaculate. The previous boarding facility has gravel yards and our previous dog would sometimes eat rocks there or be dirty from digging. There are 3 or 4 different yards so they can group dogs by size or demeanor or age to ensure everyone has a positive playtime. The kennels are also very clean! There are only 28 kennels so it is much more peaceful than at a larger facility. They provide trampoline beds and even have slow feeders if you need them, which Oscar does. They have an online reservation system which helps me keep track of my bookings. You can also sign your dog up for an activity such as individual fetch time or a walk in the woods. We have boarded Oscar at FurrWoods several times over the past few months - sometimes just overnight and for as long as two weeks. He LOVES it there!! When we arrive, he pulls me to the door and wants to go straight out to play! This speaks volumes, as Oscar normally has separation anxiety!! When I pick him up, he is clean, happy, and exhausted. Kelsey often sends me pictures of my dogs out on the trails and matches my dogs with other dogs that are the same energy and age. There is a lot of flexibility in the service and there is also pet sitting available. Kelsey really has gotten to know my dogs well and was able to alert me to possible medical issues, that once treated gave my doggy a new lease on life. Highly recommended.

Our pup is often anxious when going to a new place, so we didn't want to torture him. The owner and staff at Freddie's made him feel right at home, and in no time, it was his favourite place to be! He's excited for his daycare days where he gets to play with his friends, both four-legged and two-legged, that we now schedule him regularly and plan to keep him going beyond the trip. This place lost my family's dog…read more They were grooming our two dogs. They are both quite skittish and the groomer should have been aware of this as we had brought them there many times before. For some reason, one of the (now ex-) employees took one of our dogs outside at some point, without his collar on, and he ran away across the parking lot and disappeared. Apparently they tried to chase him but he got away. That employee was then extremely rude to my mother when she came in to find out what happened. The owner, to her credit, fired the negligent employee who let him loose, and was very involved with the efforts to retrieve him (hired a pet searcher, hung posters, drove around searching). We are grateful to her for that. Our pup was (THANKFULLY!) found 2 days later, after being picked up by animal control and brought to SARC. I am torn about this review now because the owner Megan obviously felt horrible and was so relieved when she learned that he was found. However, all of this could have been avoided had that employee acted with a modicum of common sense, and ultimately the responsibility for that does fall on the business owner. People trust you with their pets. To most of us they are family members. To have one of them go lost or missing because someone you trusted let him down is absolutely heartbreaking.

This is after they decided that chasing the loose, scared dog far away was better than calmly coaxing him. Oh, and taking him outside in the parking lot by the busy street without a collar on. All of this could have been easily avoided by someone with any common sense. The incompetent employee then decided that it was appropriate to give attitude to the owner who was looking for her dog. The dog was found 2 days later by animal control but I will be telling everyone I know to avoid this place, and so should you. The dog could easily have died. This is not the first time this has happened. Hopefully they are not given the chance to let it happen again. This establishment has no business looking after anyone's animal. Regarding the owner's friend's review: the fact that they have multiple gates just makes it even more ludicrous that they lost a dog. The dog did not plan an elaborate prison break. This is now the second time they have lost a dog. This was a series of unbelievable screwups followed by a token attempt at retrieval and this place should not be in business.

My dog was traumatized, and lost 8 pounds because he would rarely eat or leave his crate for weeks…read more Lack of supervision or dishonesty from the staff. I brought my (medium size) dog here, as I needed care for him during the work week for about 10 days. I had never been to a dog daycare before, and the initial visit seemed decent. After picking him up on the first day he was fine, and happy to see me. I decided to buy a "10-day package" On the second day, I picked him up, and he was behaving unusual. I noticed he had deep scratches all over his stomach as though he was being attacked while submitting (I have photos of this). He had bite marks on his neck. I was concerned at this point, but I thought maybe he was just getting into some rough play wrestling. I started looking for other care arrangements as these injuries were obviously due to lack of supervision. The third day I had no other options and had to take him one last day, we arrived in the morning to drop him off and he told me exactly how he felt. He was terrified of the place. Trembling, and trying to escape. I asked them what had happened to him and they said "nothing out of the ordinary." I asked if he had been eating the food I had dropped off with him every day as he had lost a lot of weight in the last three days. They said "no" when I asked where all the 3 bags of dry food and meat went, they said "unless it's in a re-sealable container, we throw away the food after a couple hours because it goes stale". Funny since I always took it in a ziplock or Tupperware. Also, since when are large 50lb dog food bags resealable? I asked why my dog was now terrified of "snapping" plastic sounds, why he runs into his crate, tail and ears down and stays there almost the entire time we are home. Why he used to be very social, and now the only time I see him is if I sit next to his crate. They said they didn't know. I was furious, and wrote an email to the owner with the same questions, and asking for a refund of my remaining "package visits" Their reply said "He is going through a stage in his life where things could scare him." (This was determined to be false by my vet according to my dog's age.) They wouldn't refund my money, but gave me "store credit" I was given not the slightest idea as to what actually happened to my dog and will never know. This can only be due to either someone's dishonesty, abuse, or extreme lack of supervision. I have found a new daycare which my dog is excited to visit. He is very happy to see the owner and employees. My advice: Please don't settle on one place. Visit a few different daycare places and ask them their opinion of the other ones. Canine harmony was not spoken of in very high regard. The pain I put my dog through was avoidable. -Aaron.
