So many reasons to love this place for grooming of our 85 lb labradoodle. Never a bad haircut! They learned our preferences and our boy leaves looking perfect every time! Easy parking. Located in a business park with beautiful and well maintained grounds! Our boy looks forward to walking around and stretching his long legs before his appointment and he says there are lots of wonderful smells here! (Don't forget your dog bags!) Service with a smile! I just called them, and in spite of their name, they do not provide any functional Kitty Kastle services. The gal who answered the phone said they only have six "Kitty Kastles", and are not accepting any new customers, now or in the foreseeable future. They are only serving established customers. Easily made an appointment over the phone for a few weeks out when most groomers in Bham are booking 6-8 weeks. Brought Butch in, the groomer (Melissa?) asked exactly how I wanted him groomed. Super friendly service. They did such a great job! So happy with his haircut, which had grown out all wooly bully over the winter months. He was so scared and they took good care of him. 100% recommended. Would go back for sure. read more

Pooch Palace is such a gem for the community. I've been taking my two Cavaliers here since 2020 for both boarding and grooming and Heather has always been so accommodating, helpful and loving towards my pups. She really cares about her animals as well as their humans, she is truly the best :) Even when she is swamped, Heather finds a way to make things work and fit me in last minute. Also, I've never had a better groomer than Missy. Missy is the only groomer I've had that actually took detailed notes on how I liked the dogs to look and I don't know how she remembers the tweaks I mention from the last grooming session, but she does and always does such a great job. They saved our 13 year old cat from total misery! She had painful knots and mats on her belly and her claws don't shed and they were starting to grow into her paw pads but our vet and most other groomers were closed due to COVID-19. This place was great. I took my 120# French mastiff in on a Saturday morning for a nail trim. Her nails are very thick and even with the best clippers that I bought, I could still not do them. The gals at Pooch Palace did it well, and efficiently. In and out in about 10 minutes and no appointment needed. $10 was a great charge for that in my opinion. I made an appointment for my MINI Aussie shepherd, and when my husband went to drop him off, ( driving from Laconner. Over 1 hour drive) she argued with him as to whether he was a full size Aussie or a mini. I think we know what kind of dog we have. She then said it would be more money then she quoted, because she insisted that he is a full size. Then she said she didn't even think she had time to do it today either. All we wanted was a bath, nail trim, and shave him. We weren't looking for a complicated cut. My husband took half a day off work to get him in, because we cant find anyone that isn't a month out. For the Lady that waisted our time. My dog is papered, and he is indeed a Mini. You should never argue with the owner. Pretty sure they know more than you since it is their dog. If you would have bathed and cut him like we were scheduled for you to do, you would have seen how small he is under that coat. He is just over grown at the moment. It was a revelation to board my dog here. Not only did he get attention, Heather and Kayleigh helped him socialise with other dogs. He came back a changed dog--no longer so fearful around other dogs. I am guessing that daycare is just as terrific --the attitude is positive and caring. It's an hour's drive for us, so we tend to take our canine there for longer term boarding. Or- for a clip and visit after we take him to Blaine Animal Clinic, another great find. In fact, the Clinic referred us. We are very grateful for the care our crazy doggie gets here-- we never need to worry about him, and he comes back clean and happy. He loves coming here--and that is a big change too. I have a 16 year old, blind, Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier and had boarded her at a local Bellingham kennel in the past. We were going on vacation. Due to my dog's advanced age, I needed to find another kennel that could give my dog special attention. This is the perfect place. We were able to go on vacation and I did not have to worry the whole time about my dog. The wonderful staff placed her in a area at the kennel that was warm, comfortable and safe. I've had dogs for over fifteen years, and have never had a good boarding experience until Pooch Palace. My lhasa apso is allergic to everything but his own food, and I don't want him thrown in with big dogs to play where he can get hurt when they're playing. I was told to call if I felt worried, since I had never left him before, and I did so twice. It really helped me to enjoy my trip. I wanted him to have something from the house since he was staying five days, and Heather was great about keeping his bed for him until the evenings. They fed him separately, and when I picked him up he was happy and clean! These folks are great, and they do grooming also! read more
