Stay away from this business unless you are ok with no follow-up if there are issues with the quality of the product and installation.

When they saw the look on my face they cut it out and got back to the job. I guess. Hard to say because two weeks later, when a hard rain came the gutters overflowed massively in the same places they'd BEEN overflowing. But the brats had such a great time in my yard one returned a week later with the longest garden hose I've ever seen, connected it to my outdoor spigot (which I stupidly neglected to shut off from INSIDE) and dragged the hose through my fence and down the sidewalk, water spewing everywhere. It's just dumb luck I happened to be doing laundry in the basement and HEARD the water start up in the pipe. I immediately shut off the spigot at the indoor valve, went outside, and let the kid know I was not PAYING for his party. His father was sitting on the porch watching. Lord knows what my water bill would have been had I not happened to be home. Yeah, when you're working on a customer's house it's not good to use their water to squirt someone else's kids in the customer's yard. Nice kids (the kids on the job) but I'd recommend hiring grown-ups with some focus.

But then they missed the higher up gutter and didn't connect it to the lower gutter (something specifically called out on their FIRST VISIT and discussion of work to be done, and a FOLLOW UP EMAIL where they said "yes, we will do that work.") Plain and simple, it's a gamble that you'll get what you paid for, but at this price, I had bigger gutters/downspouts and leaf guards added for less than other companies wanted for just a leaf guard. But the inability to complete the contract and then demand payment when I can't afford a lawyer? Does NOT leave a favorable feeling.

I was absolutely convinced I had a major drainage design problem…read more My underground downspout lines drain to the street ditch, and after seeing water back up around a riser pipe, I was certain the issue was a site engineering flaw. In my mind, there were only a few possibilities: the lines needed to be re-pitched, the ditch connection needed to be lowered, or the whole system was somehow hydraulically inadequate. I had this drainage system installed just last fall, so the idea that it could already be clogged seemed impossible. Enter A+ Gutters & Drains. They came out the very same day I called. After I walked them through my highly sophisticated theory of grades, elevations, pitch, and drainage design, we headed to the discharge point at the street ditch. The technician took one look and smiled. "There really shouldn't be a glued-on end cap with a tight grill on it. These tend to back up and clog." "No way. Not already," I replied. "Would you like me to check?" he asked. A few minutes later, after attempting to pry it off with a screwdriver, the cap ultimately had to be cut off with a Sawzall. What was waiting inside? Inches of roof shingle granules, debris, and enough gunk to completely prove my engineering theory wrong. In about five minutes, A+ solved the mystery that I had mentally escalated into a full-scale drainage reconstruction project. To their credit, they graciously cut off the other problematic caps as well and explained why they were destined to clog. No upsell. No unnecessary work. Just an honest diagnosis and a simple fix. As I stood there processing the fact that my "catastrophic drainage failure" was really just a blocked outlet, the technician smiled and said, "Bring on the rain." And with that, he was off. Was my ego slightly bruised? Absolutely. Did A+ save me from chasing an expensive problem that didn't actually exist? Also absolutely. I only wish I had called them first. The estimator recommended replacing the existing gutters around the entire house with a larger size ($10-12K) - completely ignoring the root cause of the issue. As this expense was outside our budget, his recommendation was to call back in a few years when I had enough money saved to pay for it!!! An immediate fix was needed... he reluctantly agreed to provide an estimate to relieve the affected gutter by adding a new downspout in a different location to connect with the underground drain line where it was flowing properly. I contacted two other gutter & drain companies and amazingly their first advice was to do the latter (add a downspout)... and both quotes came in less than half the cost I was quoted from A+ Gutters & Drains. Providing a cost-effective resolution was not in their best interest. Be aware!
