After getting several estimates, I went with Ascent Roofing Solutions for my tear-off/re-roof needs. Ascent wasn't the cheapest, nor the most expensive. Like Goldilocks, it was just right. From the get-go, I had a good gut feeling just talking with Bill. We just "clicked". He was professional, courteous and took the extra step to drive by my home ahead of time so he could bring out samples of shingles in colors I might like. I appreciated that. I liked that Ascent was local. Being a Navy brat, I appreciate the company is owned/operated by vets. Bill answered all my questions and got my project scheduled quickly. The crew arrived at 6:30 AM and was done by just after 12:30PM. They were very careful to tarp above my landscaping to protect it. They worked quickly and efficiently. Afterwards, they were meticulous with clean up, going over not once but twice with the magnets to find practically every nail in my grass and landscaping. They missed very few. They used a leaf blower to get any debris off deck roof, deck, driveway and walkway. Bill returned after the crew left and he courteously "tweaked" a few things for me. To say the least, I was impressed. From inspection to quote to finished project, I'm very pleased with the outcome. I would not hesitate to recommend Ascent Roofing Solutions. Mark brought in samples for us to look at as well as explained the different options in detail. Other companies we received quotes from just looked at the roof and said we will send you an estimate al with no details of materials etc. Ascent definitely stands out among all other companies bc of their attention to detail and professionalism. The crew came out around 7/8am and were done by 1pm. Great clean up and Mark even did a second magnetic pass to ensure all nails were picked up. Ascent Roofing did a great job on my commercial roof repair. We had wind damage on the roof of our restaurant and damage from a produce truck that backed into one of the corners of the building. Ascent Roofing did multiple repairs to fix the damage as well as coordinated with the insurance companies to get the repairs covered 100%. Through their detailed inspection process, they also made us aware that we did not have any insulation over half of the restaurant. They blew in 20" of Owens Corning Attic Cat insulation which has saved my restaurant 30% or more on our heating and cooling bills. Their whole team from the owner Brent who came out for the estimate to their laborers were on-time, courteous and professional. They even worked around our schedule so it didn't disrupt our business and did the install on a Saturday morning at 5am. My experiences with Ascent were twofold - once for a repair last year, and a roof replacement here in the past month. We had some additional windstorms here in central Ohio that blew more of my old 3-tab tiles off and caused a leak. The leaking caused some ugly water spots in my living room. They didn't need to be replaced, but the ceiling did need to be repainted. I couldn't even get one of the bigger local contractors (Able Roofing) to return my calls and requests for a bid. Not only did the owner Brent return my call, he offered me his personal cell number in addition to the office number. Brent, one of the owners helped guide me through the insurance replacement process and helped select an attractive dimensional tile that matched my house as well as fit in with the neighbors, who almost all had dimensional roofs. He made himself available when I had questions or needed to reschedule. They will work with you to minimize your out of pocket expenses, and they are very low-pressure on upselling warranties. They help you with selecting what you want in the price range you can afford without harrassing you. They also did a great job of priming and repainting my living room ceiling with a flat white - you cannot see the dried out brown water spots at all any more. They did the roof while I was gone at work. It was done in a timely manner, complete cleanup, and the roof looks great! I shouldn't need a new roof here for a very, very long time, but if I move to another house that does, I'll definitely be giving Brent another call. I scheduled an appointment for 9 AM, 7/8/14. It is currently 9:42 AM, and they have still not shown up. I have called the office three times, left two messages, and just now received an answer saying that they could be there within a half hour. I could not do that as I had to be at work and was already pushing it by coming in at 10. They offered to reschedule for another day, but frankly after this experience I don't feel comfortable taking another chance on them. They did not offer any kind of discount or extra service to make up for their tardiness. I made this appointment back on 6/30/14 and have patiently waited through several storms that have caused my gutters to overflow and flood my basement. I am FURIOUS that I took time off work to wait for a contractor that never showed up. I went with Ascent Roofing due to their professional looking website and great reviews on both Angie's List and several other sites including Yelp. When I was quoted a cost that was much higher than other companies, I assumed that I would get what I paid for, aka, a quality job with superior craftsmanship. It's too bad that they have turned me off of their company, because now we will be certain to not go anywhere near them when it comes time to replace our roof. read more
