I was seen by Dr. Khushigian who listened to me and actually did what I wanted, despite it not being his first course of action. They removed my toenail (which was extremely painful despite the nerve block) but I was told I did very well. LVN Desiree was by my side through the entire visit and was extremely comforting. I was squeezing her arm so hard during the procedure I was worried I was going to bruise her, but despite that she comforted me and kept me calm and helped me through the pain. There was another nurse who helped me after with wrapping my toe and putting on my little boot but I didn't her name. She was a sweet little Asian lady lol. They were all really nice and I was able to joke around with them and it was an overall good experience, despite the immense pain I was in lol.

Most medical facilities struggle to keep good reviews because lack of staffing cause long wait times and quick interactions. Secondly, I was shocked that the urgent care wasn't extremely busy and that I was brought into the back within 15 minutes of my arrival. Thirdly, I was so so IMPRESSED with how kind, and just happy my doctor was. I don't meet too many doctors who really strike a cord with me, but DR.KERR was genuinely just such a nice doctor. I was seen for a kidney infection, I knew the symptoms, had experienced them a year before, after a quick urine test he agreed. He said he'd prescribe a tablet to take once a day for 10 days, if I experienced fever to go to the ER. I asked if he knew how fast the CVS right next door would possibly fill that prescription (dumb question-that isn't something most doctors are really going to know, but I have word vomit sometimes) and he said it could take anywhere from an hour to longer. He asked if I ever used them before and I said no. He then said he wanted to give me an antibiotic shot that would at least cover me for 24 hours in case they didn't get the prescription filled that night, which was AMAZING. He didn't have to do that at all. I am so thankful that he did, though. CVS didn't get the prescription filled until late. I went to bed in a lot of pain due to the kidney infection, but that shot did it's job and by this morning I am as good as new!!!!! I'm still going to grab my prescription after work today, because following the treatment plan all the way through is how it gets fixed and doesn't just flare back up in a couple days, but I cannot express how fantastic Dr. Kerr and really ALL of the staff was.

So I go up and talk with a different receptionist and she asked if I've talked to anyone once I arrived. I answered "yes" and she proceeds to hand me papers to "check me in". I asked her if this was paper work that I've should have filled out upon arrival and she answers "yes". The quality of care and attention to detail is poor at this office, I should not nor anyone else for that matter be overlooked for care because a receptionist failed to follow procedure. They also did an X-ray and found that I had pneumonia. The doctor was very helpful and did his very best to treat me. He gave me antibiotics, and I am forever grateful. One of my visits was for a moderately embarrassing issue and the doctor and MA helped me feel comfortable and I didn't feel any sort of judgement from either of them. My concerns were addressed both times I visited this urgent care and my issues were resolved. This isn't the closest UC to my house at all (I don't even live in this city!), but if time allows, I would absolutely choose this office again. We've had really good discussions about my overall health, lifestyle, things I'm doing well, and areas where I can improve. It feels collaborative instead of transactional, which is honestly rare to find. Whenever I've brought up issues that are outside the scope of primary care, he has had no problem referring me to specialists, and I also appreciate that he follows up on that care afterward instead of just sending you off and forgetting about it. Overall, I've been very happy with the care I've received here, and I genuinely hope I'm able to continue seeing Sam for a long time. Raj left a detailed message for me regarding my procedure today and he was wondering where I was it was 8:47 my arrival time was 8:45. I value their promptness. The case before me ended up being complicated and both Raj and Sophie made sure to continue to check on me, ask if I had any needs, and explained the Dr Patel was taking extra rime with the patient before me to ensure patient safety. This was reassuring because when it is my turn, I'll appreciate that just the same. Sophie and Raj both spoke highly of Dr, Patels thorough nature and his great skill level and bedside manner being quite respectful. I love hearing staff members speak RESPECTFULLY to you regarding their team. As the patient it lends a sense of relief and shows a close team ethic! After the procedure my care was provided by Adam and he also was amazing! I felt every single part of the team communicated well with each other, myself and moved appropriately to ensure safety. Bed rails were up, time outs completely, the room was hushed for the time out, everything was double checked, I felt the procedure was going to be completely safely from start to finish. Because of that, I wake up earlier than usual and make sure I arrive 15-30 minutes before my scheduled time. Despite this, I am consistently waiting over an hour past my appointment time before being seen. This is not a one-time issue -- it happens every visit. If I were an hour late, I'm certain I would be told to reschedule, so it's frustrating that patients' time is not given the same respect. On top of that, some staff members come across as rude and uninterested, as if they don't want to be there. When patients are already dealing with pain or injuries, a little professionalism and courtesy would go a long way. If there were other options available, I would choose them. I hope management addresses the scheduling delays and customer service, because this experience has been consistently disappointing.
