It may have helped to have had a slightly friendlier welcome at check-in, but then maybe the person was fed-up of annoyingly repetitive questions about wifi codes... But is it the responsibility of the hostel to make the atmosphere, or the guests? I think given the layout of the small kitchen, it's tough to create a relaxed hanging out area, where people might naturally chat. But hey, it's near everything, and affordable so if you don't care about the experience, it's cool.

I stayed in a 4-bed dorm room, and there were 2 other people there but they left really early the next day so I basically had the room to myself for half my stay. The sheets are pretty warm, and the hostel has a comfortable temperature. There's even a toilet and sink inside the room! The shower is pretty weird though; the water drains really slowly so that by the end of my shower (and I take like 5-min showers), the entire floor was flooded. The wifi is really slow in the rooms, but the kitchen and dining/hangout area has good, fast, reliable wifi. The location is pretty convenient, as it's right next to the metro station, and it's not far from the central metro/train station. It's far from Old Town (Gamla Stan) though! The staff is not particularly friendly nor helpful, but they get the job done. Pretty average place on the cheaper end as far as Stockholm goes I think.

Prison cell because it was in a dark, humid windowless cave. Hospital room because the walls were curtains. So basically, you share your room with strangers. They even provide you ear plugs. No intimacy, no twin beds like we requested, no possibility to change rooms, for a refund or to cancel our room. So we paid, and we looked for another hotel, and found one that was three time as expensive, and it didn't look like too much of a price if it meant NOT to sleep in that awful place. Also, don't get me wrong. We knew it was a guest house. We've been in guest houses. This is is a scary horror movie dorm, not a guesthouse.

The roof has an office style ceiling that isn't think and runs across the entire hotel. The rats seem to sound rather large as they rattle the lights and ceiling squares as they run across. It is only a matter of time before one of them buggers fall through onto your bed or bites through the cheap drywalls. We complained to the owners, but they say they know about it, but don't care. We asked for our money back, but they smile and said there is nothing they can do about it. No discount, NOTHING! The hotel has great pictures and a couple of good reviews, but for the slight price benefit and health risks it is simply just not worth it. Owners are stingy and have made their online presence appealing enough for people to pay upfront for rooms due to limited accommodation in Stockholm. In all my travels around the world and in Africa, this was by far the worst and especially for the high price-tag.

There is also a sauna and cold plunge in the basement. Hotel staff is pleasant and helpful and respond quickly in Whatsapp. Excellent in room amenities as well. Only downside is there is no AC. It was blazing hot every night we were there. We slept uncomfortably every night for 4 nights. We opened a window but it's ridiculously loud outside (even with the window closed).

Stayed for 6 days/five nights and had an awesome experience. As the name states, this was an apartment, so a little different in that the room had a stove with 2 burners, towel warmer, dishwasher, microwave, small refrigerator and coffee pot....which was everything we needed. You don't get daily towel service or room cleaning, which I prefer and I was able to just move in and not worry about anyone bothering me. We bought the breakfast in the restaurant which was convenient. Very close to 2 train stops (Luma and Sickla Kaj) which helped us get around tremendously. I will return to this location again.

Lol) It's a shopper's paradise by day and a clubber's dream by night. So, you know what that means? Bring earplugs! Although I'll have to say that staying on the 3rd floor with our room facing the street, the sound proofing in the room was definitely better than our hotel at the train station in Copenhagen. Did you know that its cheaper to stay in certain areas of Stockholm over the weekend than on weekdays?! We wouldn't have known this if not for my friend's travel agent. Our room rate from Friday to Sunday came to an average of $160/night, which includes a delicious breakfast buffet! In the neighborhood of Stureplan, this is unreal. The metro is a 7 min walk away, Humlegarden park is directly across the street and one of the world's best indoor markets, Ostermalm Saluhall is nearby too. Will definitely stay here again next time.

The rooms are small, but they're charming, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed to make decent use of the space. I liked hanging out on the little balcony in the mornings. The best part of my stay, though, was the people. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to care about making my visit enjoyable. They offered great recommendations for places to visit and were proactive about helping improve my experience in ways I didn't expect or ask for. Their hospitality made a memorable stay even better.
