Touted as a "posh hostel," I expected much more. I guess that's what I get for trying to be cheap,…read moreas I only paid $130 for 4 nights. The lobby area was cute, with a nice area to sit and chill by the window. However, the room (I chose the 4 female only option) was kind of bare bones with 2 bunk beds, small 1 seater couch seat, lockers (need to bring your own lock) and a large window. Also, during check in, I had to pay 35 SEK for sheets (one time fee, but still). On top of that, towels were 30 SEK and I couldn't even get 1 the first night because I returned after hours, which was quite early at 8PM. I was pretty upset about that. I've stayed in hostels all throughout Europe and NEVER had to pay for sheets and / or towel, but I later learned this is common in Scandinavia. Location is very central and in the city center. It is walking distance from the train station, shops, bakeries for Fika, restaurants, the park near Royal Palace, Gamla Stan (old town), along with T-Central (and others) metro station. The hostel uses a code system for access to the courtyard to get to the rooms (which changes each day), the room itself, as well as for night entrance. All the codes are listed on a small piece of paper, and is attached to a map of the space. Before entering the main area where all the rooms were, there was a place to put shoes, which I didn't mind doing. One morning I put my boots down for a few seconds and when I got back, they were not in the same spot I left them. The staff was great about this though, as they checked the cameras and located my boots. After that I didn't trust leaving them there and carried them to the room. There was a downstairs common area, which includes a kitchen with free pasta (have to bring your own sauce though), cozy hang out area, and showers. I went down here with one of my roommates and quickly made friends. I ended up chilling here after exploring the city for 2 nights in a row, just chatting with fellow travelers. Definitely a great place to socialize! After around 11PM, we were asked in a very gentle way to keep the noise level to a minimum, which I thought was a considerate gesture for other guests. The place offers a breakfast, which costs 95 SEK. This consists of a berry smoothie (or orange juice) and ham with cheese panini (or mozzarella with tomato), which was pretty tasty. I think it should have also came with coffee. The folks working here were nice and friendly. They even have a way to chat with them after hours on WhatsApp, even though they couldn't help me with the towel situation since I hadn't paid for one. Overall, these were decent accommodations, at an awesome price point, but some improvements can definitely be made.

The rooms are fairly nice, I was in a huge dorm with many beds (I think 12 total) and it was a fairly good experience. There were many other solo travelers my age so it was really easy to meet people and everyone was so friendly. The hostel was very clean which is what I liked most. It is required that you take your shoes off when inside, which helped with the cleanliness and I really respected. The kitchen is also really large for a hostel which was nice to be able to buy groceries and come back to cook them. Overall I had a great experience here, my favorite hostel out of the 6 I stayed at across Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. Would definitely return when in Stockholm again

It turned out to be a really good hostel - aside that it's really easy to walk past it (it's not well signposted) and the check in/out office is only open at limited hours, they are very helpful and do what they can to make your stay a good one. The kitchen, toilets and showers were clean (seemed like they were cleaned several times a day!), and the common area was very comfortable. It felt very homely for a hostel, and I met plenty of new people to hang out with whilst I was in town. The bunk beds - Ikea, obviously - were comfortable as you can expect in a hostel, and renting of bedsheets and towel were a reasonable enough price. I didn't have any problems with anyone messing with my property (didn't even need to use the lockers) and overall had a really good stay. Definitely recommended if you're looking for a hostel in Stockholm.

I had no trouble meeting people in the common area. Linens cost extra and the flight of stairs can make it annoying to carry large luggage up the stairs though. It can also be a little hard to find but other than that, no complaints.

We found the location to be pretty central which is super important to me when I'm deciding to stay someplace. We were able to get on the bus or take the train to where we wanted to go with just a few minutes walk. This hostel offered a private room which made us feel safe and secure. We were given a room with two bunk beds and the bathroom was just down the hall. It was clean and small. There was bedding for us and we just needed to throw it in the laundry shoot as we checked out. The bathroom was right down the hall. It was clean with no frills. I never ended up taking a shower so I can't speak to that. Overall I would stay here again. The price point was great, the staff was helpful, the wifi was free and it was clean. If you're looking to get a drink at the bar it's pricey but other than that our stay was great.

It's located aside the big roads alongside green areas so it's calm, quiet and cosy. We've were three girls going to the Eurovision 2016 and looked for something kindda cheap yet still close to the city center and boy did we find a nice place. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Arrived early and it was possible to check in 3 hours earlier, they helped us with tickets to the T-train and was alway kind and smiling. Room was small but functional, nice beds, nice bedroom, small TV and ok space for storage. The only thing we missed was a refrigerator for our beverages. Our room had the breakfast included and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Great variety of bread, yoghurt, egg, bacon, tea, coffee, waffles, jam, croissants, smoothies etc and everything tasted good. Nice dining surroundings too! Would definitely go there if I'm visiting Stockholm again.

I came in with my non-Asian coworker and he was helped at the desk while I waited right behind him. There were 3 employees at the front desk. An Italian family came up after me and they were waved over to be helped. I thought maybe the staff just didn't see me but then it happened again. Another European lady walks up and is waved over to be helped. I stepped up and asked why everyone is cutting me off in line and that's when the front desk said "oh sorry about that." After 18 hours of travel, this was a horrible way to start the week. I had a few coworkers staying at the hobo across the street and everytime I walked in to meet up with them, I was greeted by staff. I stayed there last year as well and didn't experience anything discriminatory. I assumed the Downtown Camper would be better since they have a few more amenities in the room such an iron and kettle but this was not worth it. Being treated like you are invisible ruins the entire experience. On top of that, it makes me look at Sweden in a different light. Right outside the hotel there was a group of men that proceeded to yell things like "ni hao Ching Chang Chong!" I expected more from a place/staff that is supposed to be hospitable and welcoming. While we cannot control what happens outside of the hotel, it would have been nice to feel safer in your hotel and free from judgement just because we don't look the same.

They have a bar, workout room, spa area, dining area, this cool neat thing you can lounge in, etc. kind of had a fancy hostel feel, except super expensive. Things to watch out for: adding breakfast with your room is not cheap, 48 USD is what we were told. Rooms are super hot and you don't have access to air and aren't able to turn the heat below around 70 Fahrenheit (and it's only fall, not winter), bar staff wasn't very friendly, we didn't ask for cleaning, specifically said we didn't want it, and someone still walked into our room the first day, terrace tables shown in the ads for the hotel are part of the spa and you can't access them if you don't want to pay, should be clear before hand. We had a good stay here, would say the biggest thing was the room heat issue and we'd wake up sweating each night and have trouble getting back to sleep. But hotel has no major issues, would just expect a little bit more in these areas for the price!
