This is a very nice Botique hotel with Free WiFI, a great home made breakfast , the rooms are small…read morebut clean and nice, like most hotels in Europe the Bathrooms are made for little people haha, It only has stairs so its a work out up and down to room on steep steps that might be hard for older people or if your Drunk or stop at a local coffee shop. I would stay here again for sure. The Location is amazingly close to High End shops, good bars , food and all the sights.

Our room was stuffy and stale. Felt like it wasn't cleaned properly from the last stay (ex the bedsheet was not "fresh"). The sink was bubbling every time someone flushed the toilet or took a shower in the hallway. Music and noise all through the night. Only stayed one night, changed the hotel the next day. Didn't get any sleep at all. Didn't get the money back.

Thought it was gonna flood. - Dirty walls and floor, no soap on shared toilet. Constant feeling of being dirty. Broken locks. - First guy in reception refused to look me in the eye. Felt very shady, unpleasant. Checked out 3 days early with another guy, he was nice. - Quite a disgusting, harsh part of the city. Tourist shopping district and red light. Only live here if you're planning on not sleeping and feeling disgusting.

While I didn't stay overnight myself, I spent a good amount of time hanging out in their bar and restaurant areas. The bar and dining spots have a great vibe--plenty of space to relax, grab a drink, and catch up without feeling rushed. My friends had nothing but good things to say about their room, mentioning it was clean, modern, and very comfortable (and yes, they definitely enjoyed the signature warm check-in cookie). The location right next to Centraal Station is super convenient for grabbing trams or catching a train, though because of that, the lobby and ground floor stay pretty busy throughout the day. Overall, it's a solid, reliable spot in a very central hub, and a great place to meet up for a drink even if you're staying elsewhere.

I've been told stories about…read moresome more spartanistic hostels and have heard horror stories, but ClinkNOORD was actually super accommodating and very modern. The entry way is hard to find, but it's hiding in the corner looking at a stream. You walk in and have a few sets of staircases, but just go to the right. The front desk was really interesting. All the employees have badges detailing what language they spoke. Check in wasn't later, so we stored our bags in their basement area which was super helpful and a must when you're carrying a crap ton of luggage. We got our keys and headed to our room. The rooms weren't anything out of this world, but very clean and -I'm assuming-standard. There are lockers in the room, which is an absolute must have when you stay in hostels (just bring your own lock). The bunk beds were fine, if not a little squeaky, but my boyfriend and I shared on. The bathrooms were single stall down the hall and the showers were spread out. I never personally had problems finding open bathrooms or showers. There was a bar downstairs with a mini restaurant. We were there on St Patrick's Day, which seemed overly Americanized. Oh well because we had some free beer tickets! We also tried some absinthe for the first time and... WOW! Breakfast was absolutely amazing. They do have a guest kitchen, but why cook breakfast when it's $8/night when you book early? The breakfast was a smorgasbord of local meats, spreads, fruits, veggies, breads (rye, wheat, sweet bread, and etc.), and so much more. The coffee machine has a thousand settings, including chocolate lattes. I highly recommend the chocolate latte with their farmer's bread and chocolate hazelnut spread. All in all I was very pleased with my first hostel experience. We stayed in Air BnBs the rest of the vacation, but I appreciated staying in the hostel. Clink was so close to everything and the central train station hub was a short fairy ride. Definitely invest in the Amsterdam rail pass and you have a quick way to get around town.

I stayed at ClinkNOORD for three nights this summer…read more Overall, it was a fairly good hostel. Had a nice community feel and had a fair amount of social events. The rooms themselves were okay. Definitely a bit grimy, but not too bad. You do have to make your own bed upon arrival, which is a bit silly. And super warm rooms. One fan in the room, but didn't do much to circulate air. My main issues were the bathrooms. The shower stalls didn't have any ventilation, so just opening the door you were hit with the scent of MOLD! Really grossed me out. The price overall was way more expensive than any other hostel I stayed in across Europe. I'm not sure if Amsterdam hostels are just more expensive in general, but I wasn't thrilled with the price hike and the subpar cleanliness and lack of things being ready upon arrival. It is fun to take the ferry across, but if I visit Amsterdam again, I will definitely be trying to stay on the other side of the river just for ease of access.
