    Water damage in bathroom

Abysmal! Room was dark to hide the stains on the linens and ironing board. Rough drywall patching with no paint. Water damage hole above toilet, possible mold, and peeling ceiling in hallway. When I informed them of the problems they weren't surprised and said they were doing "renovations" which wasn't advertised anywhere. Requested a new room, was told they were booked solid. Wifi was unusable in the rooms. Went to a nearby McDonalds and got lodging elsewhere. (in my search for availability for the date duration, this hotel appeared proving that they were NOT booked up. So they are also LIARS. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Parking lot was also falling apart. You could hear the nearby highway louder in the room than outside. Exterior in bad condition.

So the sign said newly renovated rooms thought I'd give it a try well if they were newly remodeled rooms I don't ever want that contractor doing any work for me paint an ceiling falling down in bathroom an mold furniture was old had a patch on wall by door that wasn't painted the door had a draft coming through it heater ran all night trying to keep room warm I definitely won't ever stay here again

Dump! Busted faucet, Gouged vanity. Missing drawer handle. No screen.

Complete slum! Busted off faucet. Stains. Cranky staff. Gouged vanity. Missing drawer handle. Shower leaks on the floor beneath the tub. Broken ironing board. (Iron missing anyway.) No screen. Bathroom door doesn't shut. Did someone have a fight in here? Refrigerator wobbles. Lamp looks like it came out of a zombie apocalypse. Walls in disrepair. I hope there aren't bedbugs. (Bed itches!) The Internet doesn't work. The TV keeps cutting out. Yuck. And, here's the kicker: $170 per night. Stay away. Stay far, far away. The only thing that might improve this is the liquor store next door. . . (I hope we don't get charged for the missing iron. We just checked in.) Rooms this bad should be illegal...in fact it probably is. Whelp, I warned you. If you ended up here it's your own d@## fault. LOL. This is so bad it's laughable.

AC doesnt work. Lady gave him a fan. No screen in the window. No lock on the window. Inhumane with a service dog!!!

I cant even give this a 1 star. DO NOT STAY HERE. PERIOD. I am reporting this hotel. They charged my son $72 to stay here cause every hotel was booked up and he was exhausted. The AC was not working and they gave him a fan. REALLY??? WHERE IS THE MAINTENANCE MAN?? I called and asked this really mean woman WHY they put him in this room???? That is inhumane, especially with a service dog. HOW can people run a business like this and get away with it???? The window has no screen and the lock on the window doesn't work!!!! Im highly upset. The lady said she didn't know the AC didnt work..yea right---- try again. She also told me she had more rooms. My son does NOT lie. Why would he say the lady said there were no more rooms and stay in a room with no AC. She also gave him a fan and she gave him a fan. WOW. WOW. WOW. She told me to contact the manager on monday that she is just an employee here--- WOW. I plan on contacting more then just a manager!!!

The only reason they got a one is because you can't give a minus. This place needs to close. The worst place I have ever stayed. Nasty, broken, unsafe, loud and gross breakfast if, that's what you want to call it. There should be some kind of law against this place. The health inspector needs to check it out. I wash d my hands every time I touched something, yuck.

    Renovated rooms?
    Laree J.

HORRIBLE. DIRTY. And BAD SERVICE! Air conditioner didnt work in room, so had to ask to be moved by a disgruntled woman at the counter. Then In the next room the tv remote didnt work. When I asked about that, the reply was an argument detailing about how that could not be. My reply was, whatever the reason, it is not working. Gave up on that and went to dinner to return and find they had entered our room when we were out to replace the remote. WOW. Check the pictures out. The rooms were supposedly renovated. Sh#thole.

The door does not have a good fit to the door frame.

The door does not lock when shut unless you mess with the knob. It smells stale n the room. I would NOT book another room here.

This hotel is well run, the staff is really friendly, it's older but is clean and well maintained…read more My issue with this hotel is that it's old... my room smelled vaguely of stale cigarettes and it was LOUD. This hotel is on a very busy corner and the windows in my room were old. I could hear every burnout, motorcycle, drag race and semi truck all nihht. I would strongly recommend getting a room with the highest odd number that you can. The parking lot is in back where the higher room numbers are, and the odd numbers are away from one street. I'm not a light sleeper and I still struggled to sleep with the road noise. Other than that it was fine. Breakfast was good, has a pool and small gym. Convenient to the expressway and St Joe. Would stay here again in a different room

Be aware!! Our recent stay at the Hampton Inn in St. Joseph, Missouri was unfortunately…read moredisappointing and far from what we expected from a Hilton property. When we first checked in, we immediately noticed several issues with our room. Half of the electrical outlets and lights on one side of the room were not working, and the phone was completely dead. We went downstairs to address the situation, and after about an hour of back-and-forth discussions with the front desk staff, we were still unable to resolve the problem. It was already late, and after a long day of traveling, my boyfriend and I were simply too exhausted to keep going back and forth, so we decided to stay in the room as it was. We continued to stay in our room. It was eventually fixed. They said the panels Come off all the time... super unsafe and hazard. Unfortunately, the condition of the room left a lot to be desired. The carpet was heavily stained and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. Dust was visible on surfaces, the furniture didn't match, and overall, the room felt dirty and outdated. We were only provided one blanket, and while there was an extra one in the closet, it was so old and grimy that it looked like it hadn't been touched in decades. There were some Cracks in the walls and water leaks that were visibile. Our bathroom tub was stained and the paint or plastic was chipping off. We were told that the last renovation was about 10 years ago, but based on the condition of the room, it looked much older--more like 20 or 30 years since any real update. The hotel's condition really shows its age and is in desperate need of upgrades and deep cleaning. We also noticed a strong odor of marijuana or cigarette smoke in the hallway near our non-smoking room, which made the environment uncomfortable. The hotel lobby also had a lingering smell of cigarettes upon entry. As for the staff, the night staff were decent and tried to help, but the day staff made us feel unwelcome and were not very approachable. Surprisingly, the lady who managed the breakfast area was the most pleasant and helpful person during our entire stay. she was friendly, informative, and seemed to genuinely care about guests. The hotel does not offer room service, dry cleaning, or laundry services, which is disappointing for a Hilton-owned property. One of the few positives was the breakfast. It was actually quite good, and there were different options each morning, which we appreciated. Another thing to note--the walls are extremely thin. You can hear people in the rooms next to, above, and below you. There also seemed to be some kind of electrical or plumbing issue, as the walls made strange noises occasionally. Overall, the location is convenient, but that's about the only major advantage. The property itself is old, needs major renovations, and does not reflect the usual Hampton Inn or Hilton standards. PLEASE RENOVATE OR LOWER YOUR PRICES .

She was super welcoming and shared some fascinating personal background stories of her own history, which added a really unique and personal touch to our visit. Highlights of Our Stay: The Atmosphere & Vibe: Everything was incredibly elegant, warm, and inviting. The Suite & Comfort: Our two-room suite comfortably slept all four of us for our one-night stay. A couple of the beds were on the firmer side, and a few pieces of furniture felt a bit small (almost kid-sized), but it was still a cozy setup. The Breakfast: We were treated to a freshly baked morning spread featuring a savory quiche and homemade scones. As a huge food lover, I was genuinely jealous of the massive kitchen--that gas range is a chef's dream! However, I didn't get to snap a pic of it. Exploring St. Joseph: This part of town itself is overflowing with history. Right in the neighborhood, we loved wandering around to see the breathtaking historical mausoleums In the neighborhood cemetery and making friends with a few very friendly local felines along the way. If you're looking for a warm, unique, and historic retreat with great hospitality, I definitely recommend giving this spot a stay!

I've never seen a place with such beautiful woodwork and stained glass windows. Isobel was so kind to answer all my questions and dive into the history of St. Joe and the house itself, clearly a huge passion of hers. My wife and I stayed in the Romeo and Juliet suite and it was so cozy we had a hard time leaving. I was impressed how clean and functional everything was given the age of the home, Isobel left no detail untouched. Isobel was always available to address our needs. I showed up to breakfast an hour early one morning by accident and that didn't matter, she adjusted for me. The next morning I showed up an hour late to breakfast, when I went downstairs expecting to only have coffee available, she still prepared and served us our breakfast which was so kind and not expected. My only concern before arriving was the location not being very central. Turns out I was wrong. My wife and I could get to any of the restaurants downtown or off Fredrick in 3 to 5 min drive. Everywhere else in town could be driven to within 10min. We'll be back. (PS - Glory is wearing a jacket in photos only because we were on our way out the door. The home was set a very comfortable temperature and our room had an independent thermostat just for us.)
