Our two daughters, 2.5 and 4 years old, attend Guidepost Montessori Chantilly. From the first time that I reached out to the Assistant Head of School to find out more about their programs, we felt like part of the Guidepost Family. When we needed help with the Financial Aid process, we had assistance the whole way. Couldn't have been more grateful. Our children have flourished under this Accredited Montessori School with Trained Guides. We could not feel more comfortable that no question seems silly or bothersome by the Guides or Administration. As I said, we truly feel welcome and a member of the Guidepost Family. Also, the way they have handled the COVID-19 pandemic has been incredible. Feeling our children are in safe hands at times like these is paramount and we do at Guidepost. Absolute worst place for my grandson to learn. In my opinion Guidepost Chantilly was very dysfunctional at many levels. My grandson was tested at Guidepost and entered first grade for the 2024 through 2025 school year. The mixed level classroom had about twenty-two students, ranging between 1st and 5th grade. In the beginning of the school year there were two teachers, one of which clearly was not acclimated to talking to younger students. Her fast cadence of speaking was incoherent, and level of explanation was not focused at a first grade level. It took six months of meeting with the Guidepost corporate administrator for action to be taken regarding the teacher. The remaining teacher was very in tune with her students and tried her best to teach to the various level of the group. Unfortunately, there were several students in the class with major behavioral problems. Two of the students displayed physical bullying to the other students. My grandson was hit in the head with a stick, breaking the skin. This was inside of the classroom. One student yelled for a significant part of the day, which caused so much disruption my grandson could not focus on the educational tasks. Much of the teacher's day was spent trying to maintain order in the classroom. This was again discussed with the Guidepost Chantilly corporate administrator. The administrator always had an excuse for the incidents and behaviors, with no concrete corrective action taken. When I came at 5:30 to pick up my grandson, I could see a great deal of disarray in his classroom. Papers were out of place and on the floor. Books, educational materials and student belongings were very out of order along with several other things. The classroom was clearly not clean, with visible garbage around the floor. How could this be a functional classroom? One of the bullies in the class was a student of a Guidepost Chantilly teacher. After two months of the aggressive and bullying behavior toward my grandson, I addressed the parent myself. I did this in a very non-aggressive way. The parent put her hand in my face and stated, "I don't want to talk about it" and walked away. The Guidepost administrator admonished me for going directly to the parent. Other parents expressed that this is a trend with this school, allowing their teachers to bring their children and not addressing their students' aggressive and disruptive behaviors. Everyone should be allowed to raise their children how they see fit, but when it impacts other children's safety and ability to learn the problems must be addressed. During the time at Guidepost, we had two parent teacher conferences. At the second conference my grandson was evaluated to be one step past the first conference. We were told he was falling behind and could have a learning disability. The conclusion was that my grandson had learned very little in eight months. We were paying a private school tuition, but he was not getting the education for which we were paying. After the evaluation in late April 2025, we removed my grandson from Guidepost Chantilly and placed him in public school. He was tested when he entered public school at the mid-kindergarten level. In public school, he came home smiling every day. He said no one was yelling all day and he was able to work on his schoolwork. He was not worried about anyone hitting him. This structured environment allowed him to excel for the remainder of the year. He was voted most helpful of his peers and most improved student at the year ceremony. These two awards were from a total of four kindergarten classes, or eighty-five students. He is now in first grade, and we just had the first parent teacher conference. He is excelling in math doing second grade work and is at level for reading and comprehension. We did a tremendous amount of work with him over the summer to bring him to grade level. It is my opinion that if he had a proper education at Guidepost Chantilly, he would not have been behind in his education and not labeled as learning disabled. In my opinion, Guidepost Chantilly wasted eight months of his educational life which is unacceptable. It is my opinion that Guidepost Chantilly is a disgrace and should not have the ability to be called an educational school. Perhaps this is why the corporate parent of Guidepost declared bankruptcy in the summer of 2025. Lack of student enrollment and poor educational ability. Of course, this is only my opinion, I did not waste my time to do the bankruptcy research because I had actual firsthand knowledge. read more

My wife and I became unhappy at a previous daycare and decided it was time to find a new option for our special little girl. After searching what felt like hundreds of places we finally came across Guidepost. During our first tour, we met Chif and became instant believers. She was attentive and answered all our questions about the campus and the Montessori methids. The entire faculty knows our daughters name. They give each child the love and attention they deserve. It's not just a school but a community I'm proud to be a part of. Our daughter loves all her teachers and at 2 she can count to 10 in French, set the table, and loves to learn. We've been here since February and we still agree that this is still one of the best decisions we've ever made. read more

My family has been a part of Guidepost Montessori for almost three years! Both of my daughters attend; one in the Children's House program and the other in the Elementary program. We were at the Fairfax campus and then transferred to Chantilly for the Elementary program this year. I didn't think it would be possible to love a campus as much as Fairfax, but Chantilly has been wonderful! My daughters walked in the first day of school like they had been there for years. All of their Guides (Ms. Rebeccah, Ms. Nikki, and Ms. Monica) are fantastic and communicate with parents weekly on what they have worked on. They also share beautiful pictures of them that we receive on a web-based app called Transparent Classroom. We were hesitant like most families to send them back for in-person learning with the COVID situation and so many unknown factors. Virtual learning did not work for my older daughter and isn't optimal for most children. When we took into account their entire "health"...physically, mentally, emotional, etc., we decided to opt for them to return. Seeing their excitement everyday going to school (and not wanting to leave) makes my heart truly happy. I am so grateful Guidepost has given them this opportunity through all of this. The extensive health and safety protocols they are taking seem to be "working" to prevent an outbreak thus far. I believe they are taking as many precautions as possible to limit exposure, while still giving the children an environment to flourish and grow in. Nancy and Sudeepa, the Leadership team, are very personable, supportive, and responsive. I really appreciate their dedication (all of the staff for that matter) to providing such a loving environment with a superior-quality, academic program. read more

I have 2 boys that attend this school and couldn't be happier. The teachers are wonderful, the philosophy is amazing, and my boys have learned so much in such a short amount of time. If I ever have questions or concerns, I can always call and someone will pick up. If I ever need to touch base with a teacher through email, they usually respond within 24 hours. The communication is great and I couldn't be happier with the decision I made of enrolling my children here. read more

I am very thankful to have found this school when schools closed recently. I have a kindergartener who was not in the Montessori school program and am currently a single parent. I'm also an essential worker. This program checks temperatures every morning, limits contact with others, and is really attentive to the kids needs. Our daughter has been at Guidepost Chantilly for nearly a year and we love it. The decision to move from her previous school was not an easy one, but we have absolutely no regrets. Her teacher Ms. Caroline is fantastic! She's caring, calm and so knowledgeable about Montessori education. My daughter loves her. I always feel informed with what's happening in the classroom and appreciate the many efforts the school makes to get and keep parents involved. My experiences with all the staff at Guidepost has been nothing but positive. Assistant teachers and after care personnel are attentive and committed. The office staff is responsive and the school director is visible and welcoming. I'm constantly impressed that everyone in the school seems to know my child's name. We have really enjoyed our time at the Chantilly Guidepost. We can tell that our son's teacher, Ms. Suzanne, has created a positive atmosphere for the students where they feel both confident and comfortable in exploring their interests while learning. She sends us consistent communication about their week, and it delighted us to see all the work Isa is doing under her guidance at four yo. He doesn't normally tell us what he does in school, but we have heard him singing songs he learned during circle time, talks about house centipedes, nature walks, and writing the letter "I." When I pick him up, he is always happy and likes to give me small tidbits about his day, and that is how I can tell he enjoyed his time at school. We really appreciate all the effort Ms. Suzanne puts into her classroom, communication, planning, and day-to-day engagement. Thank you for being so awesome and for providing the kids with lifelong lessons! You are our hero, Ms. Suzanne! :) The administrative team at Chantilly is also amazing! Ms. Nancy (head of school) has a wealth of experience in education, and I have personally benefitted so much from her knowledge about children. She is empathetic and really works with you and your family to make sure your child is reaching their full potential. I cannot say enough about Sudeepa (assistant head of school), she does it all! She is always willing to help and goes above and beyond. Sudeepa is always quick to answer any questions we have and always makes us feel like we are a part of the community. She is super efficient, and all the kids adore her. Belinda (office admin) is awesome! She is super organized and knows what you need before you do. I can always rely on her for whatever I need and is usually the first face we see at arrival. I have also had the pleasure of getting to know the other teachers at Chantilly through community events and was so impressed by all of their experiences and passion for their work. The community that they have created at Guidepost at Chantilly is a huge part of why we joined the school. We love having the opportunity to get to know the other staff members, families, and students whether it's through virtual events or in-person. My two boys really enjoy attending school here. The teachers put a lot of thought and effort into creating a challenging, fun, supportive learning environment. The children are all treated with respect and treat each other with respect. The classrooms are small and the children get individualized attention from the teachers. As a former child care director with a degree in Child and Family Development, Guidepost is absolutely the best choice. We started our Montessori journey after we left a popular traditional school. At her previous school, it was described as organized chaos; constant noise, movement and stress. Once we did a tour of Guidepost; we instantly fell in love with the Montessori philosophy. We love Guidepost Montessori. Ms. Nancy is an incredibly engaged Head of School, as is Ms. Sudeepa, the Assistant Head of School. Ms. Priscilla, who runs the toddler classroom, is kind, clear, and has helped our daughter grow and develop in a very short period of time. We joined Guidepost in early 2018 mainly because of the proximity to our house and a friend's reference. We were just settling in from a cross-country move and our then 2 year old was not easy to leave behind. He would cry and scream at every drop off, which of course wore on us. The staff there- his teacher, Ms. Gabriela, on up to the office staff, Chif, Sudeepa, Sam, and Nancy- were so incredibly helpful during this transition. Knowing that all parents understand the feelings that we had during that time, I want to highlight how crucial it is to have staff/teachers there that alleviate ALL of your worries. Not only that, they did so without making us feel silly about our own reactions. Needless to say, because of their warmth and professionalism, this phase passed rather quickly, and we have never looked back. Our now 4 year old loves his school, teachers, and friends, as do we. We have had nothing but excellent experiences at Guidepost and now find ourselves making home and work decisions centered around keeping our son here. We are so happy to have our son at Guidepost Montessori Chantilly! Since he was 18 months old, he's been in the toddler program where he spends his day with wonderful friends and teachers in a prepared environment specifically suited for his needs. My son is very active and his teachers do a great job channeling his energy into a routine of activity and learning. He is now very interested in helping with meal prep and baking at home.
