I'm African American so I was concerned about them handling my hair but they knew what to do. They detangled it twice (with a detangling comb), once while conditioning and then again when they were done. They put leave in conditioner & grease afterwards. I wanted to love this place but unfortunately I had the worst experience.. Candy was the lady who did my scalp treatment. She was so rough and continuously dug her nails into my scalp while washing my hair and was scrubbing so hard with her nails. I thought my scalp was going to bleed. I asked her several times for less pressure and nails but she didn't. I was so tense bc of how painful this was that I couldn't even relax. She also skipped out on several things that came with the package I bought. My scalp left hurting to even touch it. This was by far the worst experience and it's very unfortunate because i wanted to love it. I went with two other friends who got the same treatment as me and we all had different things done to our heads.. I have been to head spas in Korea and Japan, and a few spots in NYC as well. When I saw this spot on social media, I had to book an appointment! I went for the option C. - the Signature Scalp Herbal Steam Treatment (60 min for $78). They accept cash only. You walk down two sets of stairs and are in the reception area, then there is a blow drying station you walk past and I was put in one of the rooms. I think the bright fluorescent lights could be dimmed - it's a bit glaring when you're trying to relax. One improvement they can make is putting a covering over your eyes during the service - water kept on getting splashed onto my eyes and also could help with the bright lights above. When I think of a head spa, I think of it as nice, long head massage incorporated with a hair wash. I felt like my appointment was more of a hair washing (I did love the tea tree oil shampoo!) than a relaxing massage. The brush that was used on my scalp was a bit too abrasive and the pressure actually hurt. When I got home to look at my scalp I noticed there were areas of broken, red skin! I also felt that there was forced tugging on the ends my hair and it sounded like there was hair being snapped off. The shoulder massage hurt more than relaxed me, and I didn't enjoy the arm massage either. I also noticed that the hair massaging device that I saw in all the social media posts was not used (I have one of these at home from Japan). The head massage I did get was relaxing until she did this weird sudden flick upwards with her hands that really alarmed me. She kept doing the relaxing one for 3 seconds and the quick flicking upwards a second later - I really did not enjoy this! There was a steaming treatment that had an interesting smell. After the treatments were done, she brought me over to blow dry my hair and maybe did it for a minute or two. I have long, thick hair, so to fully blow dry my hair takes longer than the normal person. She then did the scalp camera and said clean! and then basically rushed me out. My hair was still soaking wet, and I had an hour long commute in 50 degree weather at 9PM at night (the timing was also more like 8:50, which they started me 10 minutes late...this was not a full hour). My hair felt very dry afterwards; I believe they use cheap products. If you have colored hair it is even worse! I think my hair looked a lot more brassy afterwards. As excited as I was for it, this head spa just did not live up to my expectations unfortunately. Maybe it was the person who was assigned to me, but not sure if I can recommend this spot as much as all the hype around it shows. read more

You get to pick the shampoo you want that best suits your hair needs. The treatment was so meticulous and thorough. They do different massages on your scalp using herbs, shampoo, scrub tools, etc. The beds were nice and heated !! I tried this spa a few months ago, after one of my girlfriends came across it on social media. We made appointments for the Scalp Treatment (40 minutes). You get to choose the type of treatment (for colored hair, for damaged hair, etc.). The spa was spotlessly clean, the staff was very nice and professional, and the hair treatment was amazing. My hair never felt that soft (and lasted that way for days after the treatment). And at the end they use Dyson dryers to blow dry your hair! The location is near a parking lot, in case you can't find street parking. It's also near some really tasty restaurants, including a hot pot place. We will definitely be going back! I opted for the $78 treatment that was for 60 mins. I had the pleasure of having Jenny as my technician. She was lovely, she kept checking up on me and asking if the pressure was enough or if i was in pain. I also just got my lashes done about an hour upon arrival and the owner in the front was so considerate and asked her to get a face covering for me so that my lashes wouldn't get wet! Bonus points for that. The shampoo was super tingly on my scalp and the massage was great. I had a lot of tension around my neck and shoulders and Jenny eased everything for me! Terrible experience. We reserved a room for 3 massages - an adult and 2 kids. We drove an hour to get there for a fun family experience. When we got there (a shady basement), they told us we couldn't be together; as if I'd leave my kids totally unattended in this shady spa in a separate room They did nothing to fix the situation - they could care less. I am extremely disappointed in the customer service. I scheduled an appointment for December in September, but they didn't honor it. I have text messages that confirmed receipt of my request. I planned a day trip from many states away just so that my partner and I could experience the scalp massage I saw trending on TikTok. I will not be attempting to go back as they have lost my trust. They said they could put me on the waitlist, but I shouldn't have had to been rescheduled since I booked my appointment months in advanced. I never got off the waitlist. Also, I scheduled over text because I saw a TikTok that recommended doing it that way since some of the workers don't speak English. However, after this experience, if you have to go, I recommend that you schedule in person or over the phone just to be certain. Excellent service!! They shampoo your hair twice, the first one was tingly and felt really nice. My specialist yoyo was a bit strong but she adjusted her pressure perfectly after I asked! Parking can be a bit rough, but there's a private parking lot across the street that has space (a bit pricey though). They only take cash / zelle, and the tip goes directly to the specialist. We then got there the women who welcomed us was rude and told us we needed to shorten our treatment and only had time for 3 of the 4 of us even though we called to confirm in the mornings they said they could do all. the women was not helpful we then left after driving that far. i would not recommend this spa. to then get a response like we did below from them just shows the lack of awareness. to thank us for our understanding when we clearly don't is just more frustrating. we all have children and jobs and took the time to drive over and hour . they wasted 3 hours of our time. and to get a generic response/ half ass apology is not ok. read more
