Decided to try Vemax Beauty Spa since my usual massage place was booked up. Based on the reviews, I was optimistic that the massage would go well but it was mediocre at best. I opted for a 60 minute massage, and was led down the stairs to a small room with just the bare minimum in there. The massage itself was just not great. I requested for the masseuse to focus on my shoulders, and the request went largely ignored. When she did massage the area, it wasn't relaxing - it was just painful! When the massage was finished, they didn't offer towels or anything to help with wiping away excess oils. Cash & card are both accepted. Walk ins are welcome. I was looking for a head spa to visit in Flushing when my friend came to town. I've been to a couple others, but I always like trying a new spot. I saw on Google that Vemax Beauty Spa had a 1 hour bodywork / 1 hour scalp treatment special for $79.99. We visited on a weekday early afternoon without an appointment and were the only people there. They treated us like queens! We started downstairs with massages. They put us together since we're friends, but they have curtain dividers between beds if you are solo. The bodywork was very intense--they really worked on your knots, and a few times I had to tell them to use less pressure. I had asked about cupping, which they included for free. That's the only part I'd skip again. I've had cupping before, but the suction was too strong this time. After our massages, we went back upstairs for our scalp treatments and head/shoulder massages. Again, there were curtains separating each bed, but they can put you together if you're with friends. I was completely in heaven with the scalp massage. It felt like it lasted longer than an hour somehow. After our scalp treatment, they gave us a rough, quick blow-dry and loaded up our purses with candy and little stuffed animals. My friends and I were here for the head spa, which was $48 for 50 minutes and generally speaking a great experience. It wasn't sketchy at all, the staff was really nice, and it wasn't a problem that we don't speak Chinese well. The only thing I would change is that they went a bit too hard on the ear portion. The staff was kind and the entire experience was super relaxing - I fell asleep toward the end! I did the H3, which includes a head treatment / massage and foot wash. We booked an appointment for a Saturday afternoon and they seemed busy so appointments are encouraged. Once we walked into the place the lady offered us tea and to use the bathroom. Two of us were then walked to the basement for our full body massage while our friend was getting the hair massage upstairs. We originally tried to get an appointment at another place that was viral all over tiktok but they didn't have any availability for my bday today. You need this massage in your life! When you walk in, there are several beds with curtains. The curtain provides privacy. I came in for a massage for my scalp, which is not a soft massage. You will get a massage, but it feels great afterward. I booked for myself the 60-minute head massage. I really recommend this place. It's clean and comfortable. What I can say is I got here when it grand opened, got a good deal,had my hair wash here including facial care, best thing about it is that it's only 1 block away from where I work out at the gym. this is my second time here and I sadly was disappointed. the service was rushed and yet I was the only client there, the scalp massage was a few mins out of the whole 50 min service and the woman spent more time shampoo and scratching my scalp which is not at all comfortable. When I laid down on the bed for the facial I smelled a bit of sanitizer, which honestly made me feel better knowing they sanitized the surface. They did not Provide relaxing spa music and do not massage feet. : ( what a bummer to find out after I signed up for full body massage. I Guess they do not consider feet part of the body. My job i am on my feet so was very disappointing to find out after. Did not disclose no feet when we signed up. I cannot return bc massaging my feet is a huge part of why i want a massage. The MTs spent the first 15 mins pressing a white cloth towel down on me. Strange getting a massage thru a towel. I was hoping this wouldn't be a towel massage the entire massage. Then MT finally put oil and started massaging. So really paid for a 40 min massage when supposed to be a 60 min massage because ended abt 5 min early. I gave a tip and they wanted more of a tip. I said nogo and left. Place was Not really dirty but not really clean either. MTs were nice I would have given a 4.5 rating if the place was a lil cleaner, they didn't talk, played relaxing music and gave me a full 60 min massage that I paid for. $ is as impt to me as to them.
