BTW...She was and still is the absolute best small breed groomer in the Lower Mainland. Anyways, at the time we met back in the early 90's, she was just starting out as a Yorkie Breeder, and her goal was to be among the best Yorkshire Terrier show quality Breeders in North America. She researched tirelessly, she did everything right in terms of being a bonafide Breeder, (not a backyard Breeder) and went to extreme financial lengths, and still does, to show her dogs in the best shows all over the world. Only a Breeder of Champions can develop a reputation as a serious champion show Breeder of exceptional quality dogs among other show Breeders, and the dog show world is extremely difficult to penetrate in terms of being taken seriously and regarded as a credible show breeder. It takes years and years of dedication, effort, incredible hard work and extreme amounts of money. However, Kristy understood that without that reputation and acceptance, she would be nothing more than a backyard breeder, and that was out of the question. She maintained a busy grooming business 7 days a week, in order to fund her HUGE expenses, which include outrageously high veterinary bills, show expenses, handler costs, supplies etc etc., and on top of that, she regularly rescues dogs from bad breeders, most with serious genetic health issues. So, for those who balk at the high cost of a show quality puppy, and think that all Breeders are "in it for the money", WRONG! A backyard Breeder is in it for the money, Kristy is in it for the love, dedication, devotion and preservation of the breeds she is involved with. You know, many small dog breeds need cesarian sections to give birth, and the cost of that is outrageous! A simple spay costs $1500 now, so trust me, the $4,000 price for a show quality Yorkie, for example may sound high to those who don't understand the true cost of quality breeding, but after all the vet checks, shots, Stud fees, supplies, CKC admin costs, (papers etc.) trust me, the profit margin is borderline "loss" when all is said and done. All of Kristy's puppies are well cared for in her home, and are even paper trained before leaving. I leave you with this...Without people like Kristy, those breeds would be extinct due to genetic damage and pain and suffering caused by backyard breeders.

We waited 6 months on her waiting list, only to find out that 2 litters of puppies had died! Due to the highly unusual circumstance, and some doubts about the health of the dogs, we asked for our deposit back. She refused and told us to wait for the next litter (which would have been 9 months). We didn't even know how many puppies died under her supervision, or how they died! We decided she was unreliable, since we could not be sure the next litter would even survive. We searched for other breeders and even got a puppy from one, Kristy still refused to give us the $500 back. She is also difficult to communicate with, and said I was "threatening" and "blackmailing" her for saying I was going to write a negative review. She will probably reply to this review trying to play the victim, even though she's the one who's $500 richer. Save your time and money, she's not worth the stress, there are plenty of reliable breeders out there who will refund your deposit if anything happens to the puppy that they are selling you.

The most traumatic experience ever. Was at a previous Vet…read moreearlier for an examination and found advanced stage of lung cancer with the lungs filling with fluid causing him distress while breathing. Told that to the Vet at Nordel Animal hospital which I was recommended to because he's treated our other 3 pets. He said the prognosis was bad and it was right to end his life. He proceeded to shave Jake's leg and Jake pulled away...I told the Vet that he didn't like his paws touched. He proceeded to try and put a needle in Jake's arm and Jake fought and pulled away ripping the needle out. The Vet said he will sedate him. He roughly gave Jake a shot to his side and proceeded to shave Jake's other arm and Jake fought it. I asked "how long does sedation take?" He said about 15 minutes but he was already closed and he needed to go. Jake fought, got up and tried to get away, he was pulled back and Jake ran out of breath and fell to his side gasping for air. The assistant even gasped and said "oh no".I told the Vet he was hurting him and he's now dying right there. The Vet didn't say anything, just proceeded to put the needle in his arm again for the anathetics. I told him that he didn't need it, he already killed him. At that time Jake was barely breathing. The assistant asked if he was charging for sedation and with his back turned he simply nodded his head yes. I was so traumatized that I needed out of the room and couldn't even spend a few minutes to say goodbye. While paying the bill the Vet came out and said I could have a 5% discount. This was the most traumatic and torturous death that could ever be imagined and now I'm left with this last memory of our loved pet. I was charged an examination fee, sedation fee and euthanasia. I already had him examined, the Vet knew I was bringing Jake in to end his suffering. The Vet did not let Sedation to take effect. This was the worst mistake I have ever made. He tortured and killed Jake I am looking to sue as well as press charges. Got the opinion from 3 different Veterinarian's and they agree that Jake was tortured. They gave me info to further this investigation.

We came in with two kittens, I didnt expect the one to make it as he was in shock with very low blood suger. But the other kitten had esperated some milk in her lungs two nights before and needed to be put back into an oxygen chamber. I had been warned that her lungs might become a bit wet after a few hours out of the chamber and if this happened she would need one more night, I had gone to another hospitail the night before paid 560.00 for treatment which had included fluids, oxygen, bottle feeding, and warming care as this was a hairless baby.The choice to come here was not mine, but the owner of the kitten in shock . She could not travel tto vancouver where I could have got one more night on oxygen for 140.00 This Dr. Gave us a bill of 1600.00 We arrived at around 715 pm and they took the kittens in, we were told that the kitten that was in shock would probably not make it, but the other kitten would be ok as she was healthy just slight rasp when she was breathinng, she was also constipated and we asked them to look at this. We were given a quote for 1800.00 and asked to give 600 right away when I said I had to run home to grab more money. While we were gone for 1 and a half hrs after I called to say I had to feed some kittens and would return, they called four times during that time, saying we needed to bring them money. When we got there and gave them the money I saw my kitten just laying on a heating pad that didnt seem to be heating well with no oxygen or care. she had been put into a cage. I inquired about this and was told she was breathing well on her own and they felt she would need a night of observation. If oxygen was needed they would provide it. They said they had tube fed her when I inquired about the large size 8 tube beside her, I said you cant use that, thats huge , Here I have the proper size tube in my bag. I retrieved a size 3.5 tube that was new and sealed in sterial wrapper. I was told I was wrong and ushered away from the cage. I spoke to the Dr. and we were informed the first kitten had died, now I dont know if it was shock as they claimed, what I know is he was given one shot of something and just left in his owners hat on a table. I think I freaked the dr out when I insisted they give us the body. Here is what I discovered, they claimed they had given fluids by pap, this is done throught the back skin subdermal, there was no needle mark, they claimed they had done three blood draws for testing blood suger, there was no needle markes only the one needle mark that I had been there for with glucose in the left hind thigh leg was there yet we had over 600 in charges for services the animal had never recieved such as emrgency nursing care, they had one nnurse and several paitents, then when I picked up my cat after they had been calling since 8am to have her picked up or they would be charging me another 600.00 we could not get there until 10:40 am they handed me my cat covered in mucus ice cold and purple with a swollen abdomen and barly breathing and she was bluish purple. She died less then two hrs after leaving the clinic she had been dehydrated , freezing and she had a swollen throat from the too large tube they had stuffed down her which purferated her tummy. The new can of formula we had bought was missing just 3mls of liquid we weighed and measured it, my guess is they hurt her by jamming that tube down her throat and didnt bother to care for her at all through the night. My 3500 dollar dwelf should never have died she had been ok when she went there. she was ice when they handed her back it was so gross the condition she was in with bloody mucus all over her coming from her mouth from tube damge . I plan to sue this dr. My cat had no needle marks at all on her yet they claimed all these things had been given via injection, foolish my cats have no hair and every poke brusies and shows, the other kitten was in the shock they claimed her was suffering from constipation, and had eaten that afternoon, The shoot of glucose cased him to die it was to much for his little heart they should have put it on his gums. No fluids were given, no blood work no workup to see what was causing his belly to distend, nothing was given and he was not put into a warming oxygen chamber as he should have been. this vet I have read charges for items he does not do and this is fraud. AVOID AT ALL COSTS OR IT WILL COST YOU. Oh I spoke to the other vet who said that my kitten should have never died she had minimal fluid on her lungs, she was healthy and eating on her own by bottle. My dog Shasta developed a huge mass on her flank area and it was bleeding. I was in a frantic mode…read morebecause It was a Saturday morning and didn't think many Veterinarian places will be open. Luckily I found City Petcare on Yelp and called for appointment. Unbelievable they were open and a Vet was available to check on her condition, woohoo!! Dr Ravneet evaluated the mass, suggested taking X-ray views and a fine needle aspiration to assess the cytology of the mass before deciding to remove mass or not. We felt comfortable with his suggestion until 2 days later her leg mass had gotten worse. We immediately decided surgically removing the mass is the only option for our dog's comfort. From her first visit on Saturday at City Petcare and even now the 3rd day after her surgery, each one of the staff at City Petcare has shown great compassionate care to my Shasta girl. Incidentally, City Petcare is the 3rd veterinarian group that evaluated my husky girl's leg mass. We are really happy with the care and attention the team had given her. Oh.....and did I mention the final cost for my dog's treatments? Much less than the first two veterinarians from my home state that have been seeing my husky since she was a puppy. We brought our pup back to Bassi who developed his own opinion. It ended up being the same opinion, but I realized something. I trust Dr. Bassi. Trust is a VERY difficult thing to come by when it comes to a veterinarian. Your dog can not tell you if the vet is nice, how they feel... what is wrong... they can't tell you anything. So you have to trust your vet. And I trust Bassi. Also, it means I get to eat at Planet India... have I told you about Planet India yet?...
