Most of the staff is extremely rude in this store and follow you around as if you are stealing, in spite of you not being able to bring in a purse or bags. My purse was clear by the way - not because I wascoming there, but because I am always at sporting events and carry a clear bag. The fat guy at the door say it didn't matter. I didn't fuss. I came back in to shop for a gift. I went there on a Friday night and they had at least 10 people between being on the floor and working the register. Guests came and left, but they were highly overstaffed for the amount of traffic in the store. The staff follows you even after you make a purchase to make sure that you are leaving! The store has a lot of items, which can be overwhelming, especially if you are new there, so if someone says they are just looking and they'll let you know if they have questions - they probably mean it! They made me feel very uncomfortable following me and staring every time I touched something. The fat guy at the door is altogether rude and that's no way to begin a visit. Overpriced, STAFF IS VERY UNFRIENDLY, walking around the store with you making the whole experience very uncomfortable. They came off very judgmental, almost like you're being watched the entire time instead of being treated like a customer. The vibe was unwelcoming, and it honestly ruined the whole visit. Checking IDs is understandable I guess. But now they ask to take your purse/bag. I had a wristlet, flat, 7x4" with a significant amount of cash in it and they wanted to take it in order to be allowed to go in and shop. Weren't particularly nice about it either. I understand if I'd come in with a backpack or tote, but this was totally unreasonable. The merch is overpriced and there is never enough variety in shoes/sizes. I've been on a pretty extensive road trip and have made it my duty to stop at nearly every sex shop I come by to grade them. Upon stumbling onto this establishment, I personally found this to be one of the best sex shops I've encountered so far. The selection of toys was outstanding. I will say it was a little crazy with how many toys they had. The prices were very reasonable. Upon the other shops I've visited this by far has the largest selection of toys. I sometimes got lost trying to find a certain toy and I'd end up finding more of what I was looking for in the wrong place. They are very diligent in checking your ID to make sure you are of age to enter which is great! They don't discriminate either based on race, sex, or how old you looked. They will card you and it's nice to know that everyone gets the treatment. The staff is very nice. Very friendly. They will ask you if you need help and if not they'll leave you to your lonesome. Sometimes a different employee would ask you if you needed help and it isn't there fault as they are looking to help better the customer experience and make your purchase worth it. The store is very clean. A lot of clean organization and no dirt or bugs to worry about. Special shout-out to Rachel. As I was checking out she got excited and was very encouraging, friendly, and made me feel better about myself with purchasing some rather embarrassing items. Had the opportunity to visit Guilty Pleasures on a stop through Charleston recently. Loved everything about the store. I've been to adult stores all over the US, but have never felt so comfortable in one as I did at Guilty Pleasures. The staff was incredibly helpful, but not overly intrusive. This place has a lot of pros and one giant con. The pros are that these people are professional - they are knowledgeable and nonjudgmental about whatever you may want to purchase. They are always prompt with answers but know how to give you space when you browse. Plus, they make great recommendations. The con is that they never seem to have my size in intimates.
