The…read moreguide we had (Lisa) was knowledgeable, had been with the company a long time, and had a great personality for the tour. She was alternately friendly, funny, and informative. The tour was organised around the four main ingredients of beer (barley, water, hops, and yeast) and it showed the old way and new way of brewing at each stage. Often you see an old copper and brick version and then you see the new, computerised and stainless steel version. Lots of the photo opportunities are in pretty poor light. If you bring a camera, be sure to be ready for dim indoor lighting. On the up side, you see a real working brewery doing its thing. You really do sometimes step out of the way so someone can walk by and keep doing his job. On the down side, this means they generally only do tours during business hours. Skive off work one afternoon, though. It's worth it. Parking near the brewery is limited, so be sure to allow yourself some time to find a spot. There's ample pay-and-display parking, but it's a lot of twisty turny streets in there. I'm not sure how easy it is to get to this on public transport. We drove. That's a shame, because somebody's not getting the full experience. The tastings at the end were generous and we got to sample lots of different beers. I had only really had the London Pride and Honeydew before the tour. I'll be watching for the Jack Frost Christmas ale and Chiswick Ale now.

The tour was a standard soup to nuts of the brewing process but it was throughout an old brewery with many of the "old" brewing containers on display. Tour ended with a tasting and the only problem was that there were too many choices (cask and keg) to choose from. Definitely recommend this brewery tour for all my hops heads

Now the space has been turned into a event center and part-time Market stall and that really works as well. I had been drinking Camden Hells Lager since I've been in the UK, so when we saw the Camden Town Brewery, we decided to stop and get a bit to eat. It is in a great spot, right on the Camden Locks, in the heart of the Camden Market. It isn't much to look at once you walk in, pretty standard. Same goes for the cocktail offering. The cocktails on their cocktail menu mostly contained Beefeater Gin, but they were out of Beefeater Gin and said they couldn't substitute for one of the other Gins they had in the wall, which was quite a few, so that was disappointing. We were a little worried there wasn't a kids menu but we got the Cotswold fried chicken, without hot sauce and it was incredible. My wife and I shared the fish and chips and it was very good as well. We were a little underwhelmed when we walked in but were very satisfied and pleased with the food. We would comeback for the ambiance but definitely would for the food.

It's a great tap room, trendy and laid back vibes with knowledgeable and friendly staff. The beer is very reasonably priced for London, especially for craft beer - that's the benefit of buying it straight from the brewers I guess. There's a good variety of their beers on tap and a whole range of cans which you can take home. My favourite beer at the moment is the New England IPA, hazy and juicey, real delicious. (I've also spied a couple of bottles of wine in their fridge for the non beer drinkers - though I'd suggest encouraging any with you to try the apricot or grapefruit sours. They are well made and perfect for someone who doesn't usually drink beer.) Being a brewery they don't have their own kitchen but they do have a different food stall/van every week, showcasing some of London's top quality street food. I've also heard that if the food stall doesn't suit you then they are happy for you to get take away delivered or to bring in your own food - but I'd check that with the staff to be sure. This is a really welcome addition to an area where craft beer is lacking, I'd highly recommend it to anyone, just wish the tap room was open during the week so that I could go more often.

The brewery is…read morefairly small and not that old, and the tours and shop started last December but it is an absolute must if you enjoy beer and are interested in the local history of the area. The tour guide was extremely friendly and knowledgable and able to answer everyone's questions. The tour itself lasted about 45 minutes and then you all sit round the tasting table in the shop to try 4 of the beers whilst the tour guide explains how each was made and tasting notes. They are also very happy to give you an extra glass of any of the beers you fancy drinking more of after the initial tasting. They definitely aren't scrimping on the beer available to you! Also part of the tour is a goodie bag to take home containing a bottle of beer and a long man glass, and you get 15% off any purchases you make in the shop on the day. It was really excellent value for money and a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours.
