As a Filipino man, I'm not someone who likes to fuss about my skin. In fact, washing my face with antibacterial soap and water pretty much sums up my everyday skincare regimen. However, before my wedding, my then girlfriend compelled me to have regular facials six months before our big day. If not, she said that my large pores would be visible in the photos and HD videos, especially in close-up shots.
Since I have no idea where to go for quality facials, I just decided to go wherever she was having her treatments as well. And the place was Guinot, located at the fifth level of Shangri-la Plaza Mall. The therapist suggested the Hydradermie Lift for me, but since it was the most expensive treatment on the menu, I declined. I just decided to get their signature facial, the Hydradermie Double Ionisation, which was still a bit expensive at PHP 1,800.00 per session. The treatment made use of positive and negative ions to help clean, moisturize, and lessen the appearance of my skin pores.
After just one try, I really felt the difference. My skin was more supple and soft. To my mind, I was like one of those women celebrities in beauty soap ads, except that I'm not a celebrity and I'm not a woman. I underwent three more facials before the wedding and I think it really helped improve the overall look of my skin. Sadly, I have yet to return to Guinot after the wedding. I guess I have ran out of a compelling reason to spend money for supple skin. read more
