Poor stock on intermediate guitars (had really cheap and super expensive ones, not much in the 700-1200 range, homeless people hanging around the front door, the parking lot looks like a bombed out battlefield. I did feel a bit intimidated by the homeless person changing clothes right by the front door as I was leaving. I probably will not go back. I had been shopping for a taylor guitar for my daughter. I found one here but I live in Chicago. I called and asked if it came with a gig bag, the associate told me yes. I ordered the guitar online the next day. I got the guitar... no gig bag. I called the store. I spoke to 2 managers and now the 3rd one interrogated me like I was trying to steal a Les Paul from their showroom floor. He asked why I didn't order it when I called the store. What was the associates name. He told me that there was no way they told me that it came with a gig bag because it didn't. Finally I said "we are talking about a 20 dollar gig bag here sir" and he said FINE will 20 bucks appease you? That was the end of the conversation as I told him what he could do with the 20 bucks. Pure Garbage. You will sit around for quite a while waiting to receive help (especially if you're a drummer), there are numerous employees that make you wonder if they even know anything about music at all. 9x out of 10 whatever you're looking for...they won't have it and they'll just say they can order it for u...as if you couldn't do that for yOurself. Going into the drum department is like walking into an abandoned building. If there's an employee back there, you can rest assure they don't play drums, and probably can't answer any questions u may have regarding your instrument. What musician doesn't love Guitar Center?! Anytime I've come here, the employees are super helpful and generally fun to talk to. Come here to try out instruments and gear. Come waste a little time hanging with other musicians. Come just to get the in-ear monitors that you've been searching for but haven't found anywhere else. Great store. They also have drum competitions here, so be on the lookout for those! Also, The yelp info for the store says they close at 7, but they actually close at 8 on weekdays. read more

Great selection of Fender guitars. The staff was AWESOME and very helpful. One of the employees went way out of his way to locate an item I didn't get but he stayed cool and that is something I appreciate. I did get a mic stand and a great deal on some headphones. No other place matters! Guitar Center always comes through. Positive atmosphere at that. My husband has to buy a sound systems for work. Of course I suggested GC but he wanted to go to Best Buy. That was a flop on his part. I called from BB and talked to Dalton. In a matter of minutes we figured out what the best deal was and drove over. Dalton already had the equipment waiting. I love going there because I know everyone is super knowledgeable and I don't feel like I'm being hustled. Plus... it pays to get the warranty! Extremely disappointed in this company. I called ahead of time and spoke with their Sales Manager about a specific sound I was looking for in a Guitar. He assured he would help me when I got time to drop in and, could definitely find what I was seeking. Upon arrival, I asked for him by name. He had to be paged to call the front showroom or, call. He called and asked who wanted to see him and the employee gave him the wrong name due to everyone having to wear face masks. He finally came up front and came over to me. I reminded him of our conversation and he pretty much brushed me off, passing me off to a sales person who had no earthly idea what I was talking about. He asked if an "F" hole electric would reach the tone I needed and I declined, no acoustics guitars. Low and behold, he brings me a "F" hole guitar, plugged it in to a Fender Amp, played one short riff and handed it off to me. I tried every possible setting and it was not the right pickup coils. He promptly disappearing shortly there after. After standing and sitting with my Wife for roughly 30 minutes, we went back to the front counter and told another sales person "Since y'all don't seem to have time to help me, We are leaving with $10,000.00 in cash I planned to spend in their store. No big loss to them it appeared. We promptly left and drove another 35 miles back home. (My salesman NEVER returned to help me). There were only two other customers in the entire store who seemed to be a husband and wife. They too stood there for some amount of time waiting for help. I will NOT waste my time with a store that has more interest in counting guitar chords than making a large sale. I spotted 3 large Fender Amps, 4 speaker columns, two guitars and other accessories on my list to purchase from my list of musical equipment for our band (Local, popular band, booked solid for the next 60+ days). If you are looking for a Music Store where the Employees/Sales Staff & Manager simple are too busy counting inventory or, just not giving a flip vs. making a sale of $8,000 to $10,000, This is THE place to go! ordered christmas gift for my son. wrong color, a black guitar set, my fault. called customer service. cs said that could fixed with simple exchange but exchange would have to be done in store. Breanna stated that the red guitar was in stock but not in store. it would have to be shipped from your warehouse. this would have been my first time walking into the store. only person that acknowledged my entrance was a man named, Jody. there was another young lady behind counter, but she didn't say a word entire visit. jody tried to exchange guitar. computer system wouldnt allow him to in store because i wanted 36 month pro coverage. so he called someone on the phone. that person couldnt get the 36 month pc either and told Jody to have me go home and repurchase guitar?????????? Jody was unwilling to have me do this bc i was standing right in front of him. so he thanked whom ever was on the phone and told me just to take a 24 month pro coverage. i was unwilling to do so because i had already paid for everything that i wanted. this whole process took 3 hours too long out of my life and im still not satisfied. at this point i was just tired so i told him to just give me my boys gift but it looks like in the system that i returned it. Jody brought the guitar set to my car. so i called customer service again after i left the store in my car and got someone by the name of Alex who never listened to my issue and i had to keep repeating my story over and over and again. when i felt unheard by Alex i asked him several times to speak to a supervisor and he was very angry with me for asking for supervisor and made me wait for a very long time with very loud music on hold. NaKeisha, supposedly floor support for your call center, got on the phone and she said that Alex told her i ordered a red guitar and wanted to exchange it for different one which was so not what i called for. AGAIN i re-repeated my story to her. NaKeisha informed me that because of holiday sales the system didnt recognize properly that the guitar set which was regularly a higher price for a 36 month pro coverage. this made sense to me as to why i was able to order the 36 month pc on my end for the black guitar set but you were unable to get same for the red guitar set on your end.....however how is that my fault? and why in the hell couldnt ANYONE at Guitar Center fix the problem, call me back in a timely manner with the issue resolved? the call disconnected and NaKeisha never called me back. she sounded as if she was tired of listening to me. when someone asks me where i got my son's guitar set, from can you imagine what i will say? read more
