Our daughter takes voice lessons with excellent voice teacher Shannon Scoles (she's also on the faculty at WMU). I never imagined that Lillie would connect so well with her teacher, and learn so much in such a relatively short time. She looks forward to her lessons each week, and has strengthened her voice, learned new styles, and progress with her passion for singing. Crescendo Academy has deeply impacted our family. Beyond that, I am always in awe of this non-profit organization. There are scholarships for students, a plethora of options for private instruction, group ensembles, and even music classes for littles. You'll find that the faculty is highly regarded, and boasts many musicians you'll recognize from the KSO and other musical organizations. April, who is the operations manager, is a connector, a genius at matching students with faculty, and planning all kinds of events (like art hop!). Even seeing her will bring a smile to your face - she's the epitome of a friendly face of a beloved organization. Take your kids to Crescendo. Get yourself involved. You'll be glad you did!

Bought a Mothers day present, stood around waiting while the lady started lying "she's just polishing it up" Then she tries to pass off A TOTALY DIFFERENT RING AS MY WIFE'S LIKE WERE IDIOTS AND RINGS DON'T REALLY HAVE A MEANING. We have had a terrible experience with this store. My fiance ordered my engagement ring on July 8…read more It is now February 19 and we have not received my ring yet. It started with my ring needed to be sized down. It was sent in to be resized 3 sizes down. We were told an estimate of 8 weeks. After 8 weeks we called to check on the status. We were told the ring the order wasn't properly placed, and the ring would need to be remade and we were given an estimate of 8 - 10 weeks. 11 weeks later, the ring came in, and was still too large. It needed to be sent in to get resized. We also picked out a wedding band knowing that the resizing seems to take some time. We were told it would be another 8 - 10 weeks. We were told we would be notified when either ring came in. 10 weeks later, we call to check on the status. The band was in. We never were notified. The engagement ring had a ship date of the next day, so it would be in within the next couple of days. We call a few days later and are told that the ring is going to be another 4 - 6 weeks. At this point, we are beyond tired of waiting for the ring. I haven't had my ring for most of my engagement, and will not have it at my shower. Our wedding is in May, and at this point I am wondering if I will even have my ring before the wedding. We asked the store for a return. I talked with a local jeweler who said they can make a ring for me within the next 4 weeks. Helzberg adamantly told us no, that we couldn't return the ring because it was purchased more than 30 days ago. We still don't even have it in our possession, yet we can't return it! The managers at the store that we have been dealing with , Kristin and Ashley, have not been very understanding. Ashley at one point was talking to my fiance extremely disrespectfully and told him that there has been a study that 75% of brides do not like their rings, and he is just going to have to deal with it. The issue is not the ring. The issue has been the service and the continued delays. I tried contacting Helzberg through the website 2 weeks ago, and have received no response. I tried their chat online, no one answered. Word of warning, go far in advance of any special date you may need your jewelry by.

Oof, what a rough experience. Took a cheap Casio watch in because I thought it needed a new…read morebattery. Never been to this shop, but found it by Google search and figured I'd support a small business. Older gentleman was the only one in the shop - he took my watch and said he'd take a look. He opened up the watch and said the battery was "like new". I said, "Well thanks, I don't want to waste your time." He says, "Well, I've already got this all opened up." (!) I wait a few more minutes for him to tell me more, or return my watch. Nothing. After about 15 minutes of waiting, he finally exclaims from his workbench, "You may have to leave this here a while - I've never opened one of these up before and [nothing's going back together like it should]." I left my name and phone number and asked him to call me when it was ready to pick up. This was on Friday at lunchtime. No call comes the rest of the day, or the next day. Closed on Sunday, still no call Monday. Finally, after work Monday I go by to pick up the watch. He hands me the watch and says nothing. I say, "Did you end up putting a new battery in?" He says, "That one's like new." (So, no.) I say, "Do I owe you anything?" He says, "Well, I gotta charge you $12 for taking that thing apart and putting it back together." Here's the thing, I'm all about supporting the little guy and honoring their time. But what about my time? Dude took my watch apart without knowing he could put it back together, then never called to say it was done, kept it for three days, and didn't actually DO anything. If it was my shop, I might say, "Hey, I'm not gonna charge you today because I kept it for so long and didn't actually do any repair on it. Have a nice day. Come see me when the watch actually stops and we'll get it fixed up." Instead, the guy got his $12, but I'll never go back there again.
