Funny thing, he put the broken inserts inside the box and hung it back on the display. Ugh, really? I told him not to put it back, so I took it back to the front where I had left my original and the receipt, i got my money back and went to the other store to get the inserts, better quality and very similar price.

This is hands down the worst service department I've ever dealt with -- not just in Michigan, but…read moretruly a contender for the worst in the entire United States. Service is consistently unreliable, disorganized, and careless. They say one thing, do another, and somehow always find a way to charge more than originally quoted. Nothing ever feels straightforward, and there is zero sense of accountability. I personally know a large handful of people who refuse to ever step foot in their service department again because the experiences are consistently bad. They do not stand behind their products, their customers, or their own warranties. Buying a warranty here is equivalent to donating money than receiving any real protection or service. To be fair, their retail side is much better. The store itself is nice, well-stocked, and worth browsing. But the service department? Get rid of it and stick to retail. If you value your time, your money, or your sanity, don't put yourself through the same frustration so many customers already have. This place will never get another dollar from me -- and based on what I've witnessed, I'm far from the only one who feels that way.

I spent three months researching before choosing the 2024 Coachmen Cross Trail 20XG. In December 2024, I found one at Camping World in Coldwater, Michigan, and was especially drawn in by the advertised Renogy battery upgrade. I spoke with Mike in sales for weeks, negotiated pricing, and even planned to fly in from Texas to buy it. The day before my flight, I called to confirm and was told Mike had quit for another job. I still went, trusting the "benefits of a nationwide chain." That trust was a massive mistake. Here's what happened immediately after purchase: * First night: No heat. I had to sleep with the engine running just to avoid freezing. * Day two: Gasoline poured out from under the RV at my first fuel stop. Good Sam, Ford Roadside, and AAA were useless. Ford and Coachmen pointed fingers at each other until a mechanic discovered the generator fuel line was only zip-tied up -- a sloppy, dangerous shortcut that caused the leak. * Nationwide service - a flat-out lie: Coldwater sold me this RV with the promise I could get service at any Camping World nationwide -- especially important since I live in Texas. That was a sales tactic, nothing more. When I actually needed help, Camping World Texas flat-out refused to touch it because it was purchased out of state. After dozens of calls, I was told they "can't know every state's rules." That's not a detail -- that's deliberate deception at the point of sale. * The real cause of the heat issue: An independent Texas shop (NOT Camping World) finally discovered a stray bullet lodged in the AC/heating system. The entire system had to be replaced under warranty -- less than a month into ownership. * Other disasters: * The Renogy battery system has never worked reliably despite three mechanics trying. * The awning fell off because screws weren't tightened. * A side compartment literally collapsed and won't lock. * The tank sensors have never worked, even after six shops in three states. * Most recently, coolant started leaking because a hose was routed against an engine belt until it wore through. This wasn't just bad luck -- this was negligence, dishonesty, and complete lack of accountability from both Camping World and Coachmen. They sold me a brand-new RV that was unsafe from day one, and then abandoned me when problems appeared. From a gas leak, to a bullet in the heating system, to falling parts, failing batteries, and endless lies -- Camping World Coldwater sold me a lemon and washed their hands of it. My advice: RUN from Camping World Coldwater. They will say anything to close a sale, and then leave you stranded when the RV inevitably falls apart.
