We found this dog beach on Yelp and decided to take a little detour. There was plenty of parking and a green space, as well as a government building of some sort, and then the fenced off dog beach. Unfortunately once we were walking towards the beach, we saw multiple signs saying that the park was closed. However, there were at least a dozen locals with their dogs inside the enclosed area, so we decided to go in anyway. The atmosphere was welcoming and the dogs were all having a great time sniffing, splashing and chasing balls and each other. There was one covered area for shade and a bench but not too many places for people to sit inside the dog beach. Outside the fenced area, however, there are some tables that are shaded by trees and the building closest to the beach does have a restroom inside if you need one. It felt a little weird to walk past the closed sign to get into the park and I'm still not really sure why those signs were up. We did ask two different people inside the park and they said they just ignore them. When in Rome right? It was a little confusing and I don't know if they were doing a renovation or some sort of update but once we were inside the friendliness of the people and the dogs made up for it and we just enjoyed the atmosphere for a while until our pop was ready to go. If you're in the area with your dog, this might be a gamble but it was a good stop for us. Even if your dog doesn't like the water (ours really gets in) there is still a sandy area where they can run around and play. The community is also welcoming so it's good for socialization. I would definitely stop here again.

Nice concrete double gated entry area but I am sure the dogs would have much preferred the grass just be left alone then the nice concrete bone in the middle of the park. Fortunately they have one of every agility item as well as multiple poop bag dispensers and trash cans. Both the big and the small dog park also have covered seating areas. But the one thing lacking is room for the dogs to run and places to park other than at the curb. I do have water in both parks.

Seeing so many happy dogs together should be a joyful experience. Unfortunately, as the day goes on, you also witness a heartbreaking amount of neglect and mistreatment. Far too many owners leave their dogs sitting in the hot sun for hours with little to no shade or water, while they themselves sit comfortably drinking water or cocktails all day. It is painful to watch and honestly shocking that there do not appear to be stronger rules or oversight in place to protect these animals. A dog friendly environment should also be a dog safe environment. While there were some responsible owners, they were unfortunately few and far between. If your dog spends most of its life indoors and you bring it to the beach on a blazing hot day, common sense should tell you that the dog needs shade, hydration, and breaks from the heat. Too many people here seem to ignore that completely. At times, it honestly feels no different than leaving a dog trapped in a hot car. That may sound harsh, but after witnessing it firsthand over and over again, it is hard not to feel angry and heartbroken.

Come to find out Cory was from Chattanooga and I am from Huntsville, so small world when we Met in Pensacola. Enjoyed our visit. the park was clean a lot of toys only drawback is the water fountain for the dogs was very very slow coming out. There was a bowl there for the dogs that you could get water I did bring water and a bowl from my dog and of course I brought toys and bag for his waste. There is bags available for you to use there. somebody was in the small dog side cleaning up, overall the park was clean and was maintained. It looked in good repair. I did give it a five star I was impressed. There is chairs there is also benches and there is shade I did see bathrooms that was up closer to the front of the park so I did not see them by the dog park side so it was a bit of a walk, but there was benches by the trees, so you did have a shade that you could sit in while your fur baby played .

It really needs regular irrigation. The grass patches had a lot of high weeds in them. It's a large park with a very large covered pavilion & picnic tables for large gatherings. It has a great kids playground & several fields. If also has 2 fenced in dog areas for small & large dogs. There were a few people there hanging in their tinted window cars in the parking lot which was a bit of a bummer. I really liked it. I do wish they would maintain the grounds better. It is pretty bare bones for a dog park, and it seems as if there hasn't been much updating in years. They have a side for smaller dogs and a side for larger breed dogs; however, people love to bring in their beloved chihuahua and then proceed to get angry when a mastiff tries to play with it.. common sense here people. They have an "in ground" water bowl with a faucet for the dogs on both sides. For the dogs they have three concrete tubes to...go through? They have a incline board for them to walk over, and then one plywood board with a hole cut in the middle for a dog to jump through. Other than that it's just a larger open space for dogs to run in a caged in area. Would be nice for them to add some more dog related activities into the park. There are two benches with covering to sit under for the humans. As well as a bag dispenser for you to ACTUALLY pick up after your dog..*cough cough* Also.. there is no lighting after sunset so beware..

I'm obsessed because they have two, nice large dog parks separated for big and small…read more It's shaded has lots of oak trees with Spanish moss and some seating in the shade. Couldn't be happier. There's also a small water station. Parking right in front and it's a short walk to the sound which has picnic tables and a ton of veins to trail paths throughout the park. Including those fabulous raised boardwalk paths. We walked some of the boardwalk paths recently and so enjoyed the experience. You are above the Bayou and Marshland and have a lovely perspective of the bay and tons of nature. People were trying to spy frogs and snakes and other critters. I imagine there's a lot you can see if you are patient. We love just having the access to it and being able to see the Santa Rosa sound to Pensacola Beach across the way. It's a true highlight of the area. Gulf Breeze does such an amazing job of maintaining its trails. We are really happy it is easily accessible and a well maintained community feature. Have barely scratched the surface of exploring it yet but look forward to seeing more of what it has to offer!
