I never received a call which made me comfortable that everything was ok. I then receive a text message with a portal alert stating to contact the office in regards to my results (this is 3 months later). At that point very concern and nervous. I contact the office within minutes of reading the message. Finally get a call back 3 hours later from the doctor. She starts with stating that one of the three areas was "benign" but the recommends me to come for a follow up still. Then follows up with telling me that she called and left multiple messages on my phone. Which is an absolute lie. I was legitimately concerned for my health so I was on call as usual because I run a business daily. Waiting to hear anything and hoping to not receive a call like she said. I don't miss a beat when it comes to calls and texts. So what I got from this is. They clearly are hurting to get people in their office and used a benign result as a scare tactic to gain more business from me. They had multiple ways of contacting me over these last three months and didn't use one of them. Not a text, not a call, not an email. They literally have a portal that sends automated texts to you that shows history of messages. I never received one till today. My appointment was beginning of February. If you want a dermatologist you can trust and count on to make you feel comfortable. Stear clear of this place. The doctor also is not a pleasant human being by any means.

Once you finally see him, it's rush, rush, rush! A year ago, he took a biopsy of a small bump on my leg. Even though it came up as basal skin cancer, he said the biopsy took care of it. Shortly thereafter, he sent me 2 certified letters telling me that I needed to have it checked at his office. I called and told his office that I would come in this summer. (I am a teacher and do not like to use substitutes.) When I called, his office person said Dr. Hamel no longer wanted to be my doctor! My new dermatologist said the spot on my leg is gone. He saw me 5 minutes after I arrived and gave me a thorough examination. The spot where Dr. Hamel did moh's surgery last summer has come back! My new doctor is right across the street. His name is Dr. Sable. Go to him!

Example: see this prescription bottle. I called in Monday morning for a refill to be ready by Wednesday. When I went Thursday, the pharmacy said Bay Dermatology never responded to their fax, so they sent another. Friday, still no answer. I called the office in the morning--nothing. I called again early afternoon and insisted on a callback. Cara finally called to say Clarissa claimed the script already had refills. As you can see on the bottle, it says "no refills." The issue isn't who made the original mistake--Clarissa or the pharmacy--but the office's assumption that nothing was wrong and their failure to confirm before the weekend. This medication treats hives that cause facial and throat swelling, so this is not something to treat casually. To make matters worse, when they finally did send the prescription, they sent it in incorrectly again--twice a day instead of once, just as they've done before with a medication I had already reported caused bad side effects. Now the office is closed for the weekend, and I'm left without the correct medication. Bay Dermatology--you're fired.
