The Gulf Coast Inn is a phenomenal hidden gem right off of Pensacola Beach! We were trying to get our beloved fur baby to the beach one last time before he crossed the rainbow bridge. The beach was his happy place. I called several places the morning as this was an impromptu get-away. After a few harsh phone calls from other establishments, I finally got a friendly, professional, refreshing rapport from Niko at The Gulf Coast Inn. Hours later, we were welcomed with the same pleasant candor from Niko upon arrival. He even gave great suggestions for puppy-friendly places for locals. Samuel was equally accommodating on the evening shift. The accommodations were perfect for our little tribe. Super clean and orderly!!! I'd never been to a hotel that had a broom and dust pan in the room. This is sheer brilliance for a pet-friendly, beach hotel. Foster thoroughly enjoyed his last beach trip and so did his parents and sister. We will return on happier times.

She was blazing through whatever she said quietly and at about the same speed as the side effects warning on a TV commercial for prescription meds. I asked her to slow down because my hearing isn't great and she was talking way too fast. She , literally, rolled her eyes and continued to the end of her speech at which time I had a room key and a pink square of paper with numbers on it that I had no idea was for. Not a great first impression. Fortunately this was a one off experience and the remainder of our stay was perfect. The resort is beautiful. The pool area was great. Our room was generously sized and very well appointed. (I still recommend all nice hotels stop buying those packets for the coffee maker with powdered creamer and that horrible pink stuff for sweetener. You're better than that.) The staff, no matter who or where we bumped into them, was friendly, engaging, and helpful. Housekeeping, maintenance, lobby, bars, food service. 100% awesome. The food and drinks in the lobby bar were amazing. We ate there several times because we couldn't think of a good reason to go anywhere else and fight the crowds and traffic for lesser food. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again.

Service - everyone from check in to check out was so professional and courteous that they made me feel right at home. 2. Amenities - right on the beach, swimming, lazy river, hot tubs, all great! (But, again, it was too cold to enjoy much but the hot tub. Still worth it.) 3. The room - clean and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the Gulf. Plus, after a week on a cruise ship, it felt like the biggest room in the world! (It was standard hotel size for two queens, but still felt ginormous.) 4. Great bathroom and supplies. My only real drawback was the water pressure. On the 7th floor, the shower took quite a bit longer than usual to get all the shampoo out. 5. Location - not only on the beach, but within walking distance to great restaurants, bars, and fun. Loved it all around. I love Pensacola Beach, and this definitely gives you the vibe they're going for.

The fridge and the microwave are a really good size, but it does not have a stove. You can request a hot plate, which my friend said he did, but when it got hot it was smoky and lowering the heat made it impossible to cook in. There's always parking available, and the breakfast is good, they offer warm breakfast and waffles. The gym had a good selection of equipment, 3 treadmills, 2 elliptical, a peloton bike, dumbbells, stability ball, medicine balls and a cross trainer. The biggest complaint I have is the cleanliness. I stayed there 3 weeks and they literally only gave me one full clean and that's only when I asked for it the third time by the third week. Every week I had to ask them to clean my room and they did a mediocre job. They're supposed to do a full clean every 4 days and it wasn't done. They were also supposed to come take the trash out and renew towels every two days but I went almost a whole week without that service until I asked them to come in. I thought it was just my problem and my room because they were probably tired of me, but multiple members I knew stayed there and they explained they experienced the same problem. In addition to all that, the gym ran out of wipes and they weren't replaced I had to bring in my own until I left. There are 2 washers and 2 dryers and the dryers stopped working the second week I was there, and as far as I know they didn't get fixed by the time I left. The rooms have really thin walls and you can hear almost everything even a cough. At least the staff is nice, I just wish they fixed the cleaning problem especially for an extended stay.

I've been long overdue for some rest and relaxation. I'd been to Pensacola years ago visiting some…read morefriends and loved my time there. I decided this would be an excellent place for a little break. I am a Hilton Diamond member. I appreciate the quality and service that come with the Hilton experience. This trip did live up to my high expectations with a few minor improvements. I was able to check in and select my room ahead of time on the Hilton app. I did stop by the desk to grab a set of key cards for my party. The lobby is on the smaller side. The space is warm and inviting. The lobby has a very small shop for incidentals and a Starbucks kiosk. Off the lobby is their main restaurant Salt. I will write a separate review about the restaurant. Our room was located in the tower which is accessible around the back side of the restaurant to get to the elevators. The tower has 17 floors and only two elevators servicing the tower. During peak times, there could be a considerable wait for a ride up or down. We had a two queen suite with the additional bunk beds. There were three guests total in our party and we were very comfortable. The bunk beds are tucked in near the entrance. Walking in there is a generous sleeping space with two beds, two closets , nightstand, and dresser/tv stand. Definitely room to spread out. The beds were comfortable, the linens soft and cool. My only issue are those feather pillows that seem to be pervasive to every Hilton I've been to. One pillow isn't enough and two are too many. I just need to start bringing my own. Walking back, we had a well appointed bathroom with separate tub and shower perfect for parents with small children. I would have liked more hooks or a towel rack for hanging bathroom linens. It was ok for three people, but any more than that could be a challenge. The water pressure in the shower was great. The toiletries were also very nice, with a bright fresh scent. Walking further back, we had a nice sized living space with sleeper sofa, chair, coffee table, small dining table, and a reasonably functional kitchenette. There's a sink, generous sized mini fridge, and microwave. We were able to have an Instacart order delivered with a small amount of provisions. My favorite part of the room was the balcony. We over looked the pool and had stunning views of the beach and the water. We did encounter some issues with housekeeping during our stay. Service was unpredictable and sometimes non existent. I realize a hotel this size it can be difficult keeping up with checkouts and daily service. One day in particular I had to approach the front desk staff three times over a period of 3-4 hours about service for our room. The housekeeping staff I interacted with spoke limited English and so it was a challenge to approach them directly for assistance. The best perk about our stay is the amount of access to some kind of water. The back of the hotel walks right down to the beach. They have a very nice sized pool and separate kiddie pool. Plenty of loungers and umbrellas. The bar Sal de Mar is steps from your chair. Plus, with your stay you get access to the pools at three of the adjacent hotels: Holiday Inn, Fairfield Inn, and Hampton Inn. We were able to spend the day exploring all of these amenities. We recommend checking out the Holiday Inn and Fairfield Inn pools. Both have a fantastic layout, and features. The only downside was not being able to charge my bar tab to my room! My only frustration with the pool was the towel situation. There were never enough towels to be had. I stopped by our first evening after we were done swimming and they were completely out of towels. I figured it's the end of the day and they probably ran out. I was up early the following morning to walk the beach. I went to grab a towel and was told they didn't have any. I would assume that they would have been washed overnight and ready for the next day. I went to the front desk and was put in touch with the pool manager. She explained to me that this has been a challenge for sometime. It's not just this hotel in particular but most of the other hotels have a similar problem. One thing I did notice is that the pool attendants do not clean the pool deck at the end of their shift. There's trash, towels etc strewn around. We also did late night swims several nights and saw towels on pool chairs that had been sitting all day. I passed through early the following morning and those towels were still sitting on the chairs and ground. They would benefit from someone doing a quick walk through at the end of the night. I also noted there wasn't a clearly marked area for returning your used towels. Other than this suggestions, this is definitely something that needs to be addressed further up the in the organization. All in all, my stay here made for a fantastic vacation. The staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The amount of amenities were fantastic. They lived up to my expectations of the Hilton name.

You cannot see the ocean from the pool deck. Calling them "waterfront pools" is misleading. My stay was also plagued by a series of maintenance and housekeeping issues: * I was initially checked into a room that wasn't actually ready. * One of the balcony doors had a broken handle, leaving me stuck on the balcony until maintenance let me back in. Rather than repair it, I was told to use the other door. At this price point, I'd expect broken things to be fixed. * The ice machines on multiple floors were out of service but weren't marked as such. * My room door often wouldn't latch securely on the first try. * My swimsuit was ruined after being hung on a bathroom towel bar that apparently had self-tanner from a prior guest or a housekeeping chemical on it. None of these issues alone would have ruined my trip, but together they turned what was supposed to be a relaxing beach vacation into a frustrating one.
