It was a roundabout journey to a sleep study for sure. (More on that in my review of Dr. Houston (…read more I was contacted by this sleep center after being referred by a sleep doctor. The gentleman that called was very thorough explanation the entire process from beginning to the multiple potential outcomes. He was very good with making me comfortable with the experience and gave me more than enough insight so I knew exactly what to expect. I received several text message reminders AND a follow-up phone call reminding me when, why, where, etc., nicely done! When I arrived I was greeted, no insurance info needed at check-in, and shown to my room for the night. I was then immediately attended to by Jason Turner, a certified respiratory therapist, who have me some health and sleep related forms, and made me quite comfortable. The room was very much like many motels I've stayed in on my countless days on the road on my travels with a sem-comfy bed with cheap linen on the bed and in the full bathroom and a generic paitning on the wall with a somewhat worn recliner, basic furniture and a working big tub TV. I'm not knocking it, it was comfortable but like an economy motel and not a suite. My son has had a CPAP machine for years so I'm very familiar with the technology and it's uses so the extensive explanation was fine abd the following hookup to a bunch of electrodes was expected. The gentleman, who is a respiratory therapist, was very thorough and quite good at his job so after watching a little TV I was off to bed. I was comfy and not maybe a little surprised how well I slept considering that I was hooked up to stuff & being observed LOL The process takes 4-6 hours of both observing the data sent from the electrodes as well as video observation. After he woke me up their was a minimal amount of paperwork and a briefing if what to expect next. What was indeed to follow was a call from the sleep Doc telling me about my terrible sleep apnea and I was scheduled for another session to determine what kind of CPAP would be best for me. The next visit went exactly like the first and within a few weeks a machine showed up at my door. Bottom line: The folks I interacted with at this facility were very professional and do a great job. Highly recommended

My study went flawless thanks to Jason again. Looks like I'm gonna be hooked up.

She reviewed my latest sleep study and told be I was not eligible for this device. No tests were performed or other medical services. Lo and behold I receive a bill for an addition amount the said the insurance didn't cover. I spoke with the insurance company and they told me that they had paid the the allotted amount. I could have seen the extra charge if some medical tests or other procedures were done. So they tried to get more money for nothing. I have been to many "specialists" and only paid my co-payment and never was billed for more. I have a Medicare Advantage plan. Even if I had qualified for this device, I wouldn't have this place to it - they would probably over charge.

I was given a prescription to a pharmacy that more resembled a health store than an actual pharmacy, for them to mix up a powdered concoction for me to mix into a saline nasal rinse solution. It took 2 days for this pharmacy to have this concoction ready. After a few days of using this powder mixed into my nasal rinse solution, I developed a terrible upper respiratory tract infection, which was a listed possible side effect of this concoction. So, I ceased using it. Then I was scheduled by this office to have a CT scan of my sinuses. I called multiple times to cancel this scheduled CT scan, as I had one performed on me not long before then by my pulmonologist. I wanted to instead bring the ENT office the results of that scan. But this practice NEVER answers their phone. And when you leave a message, they do not call you back (except once). After what was probably a couple dozen attempts to contact them, and leaving multiple voice mail messages, they called back one time. But I was at the other end of my house and did not get to my phone in time. I called back immediately, but again, no answer. And no call back on the message I left. Then the day before my scheduled CT scan, I was sent a text message to either confirm (enter 1) or cancel (enter 3) the CT scan. I entered 3 to cancel. I assumed I was in the clear on that matter. And my proof is still stored in my phone. But it did not matter that I hit 3 to cancel, as my next bill had a $50 'no show' fee added to it. But they will have to take me to court to get that $50 is all I have to say on that.

As my…read morenew Alabama neurologist.he has proven to be a very competent and caring individual that listens to my concerns and unlike several other MDs, that I've had the misfortune to encounter, he actually took the time to read my records, assess the situation and has an informed. While he seems to care, more than the average putz doctor he's one of the more compassionate MD's I've dealt with over the last 40+ years both ion and out of the medical profession and he actually seems to be genuinely committed to doing the right thing and that's seriously all that I require from any medical professional. The office staff is professional but the group is behind the times with online offerings and who doesn't accept Discover cards, seriously? But in the scheme of things, this is the small stuff. Bottom line: This doc went to Ohio State for undergrad, Brown for his MD and he's worked in trauma centers, VA's, and loves his home here on the Gulf Coast of AL and he is one of the good ones.
