A-Ok little gas station a few miles outside of Kings Canyon National Park…read more Gas is still way cheaper than pretty much everywhere else in CA and there's a good chance you'll get to see a family of 20 pull their multiple vans into every pump station, not get any gas and instead open up their trunk and start ladling mounds of ceviche from a plastic bucket into tiny wax paper bowls on a 110+ degree day while you sit and watch and wish that you weren't too old to be adopted so you could get in on what actually looked like some rather delicious trunk bucket ceviche. So, coming here is basically an opportunity to make friends and eat homestyle gourmet food with the option to also gas up your ride with, all things considered, nominally priced gas. win/win/win situation.

They're about .50 cents higher than the chevron in town, but again it's a somewhat remote location and when your on a bike you don't really have a choice when the gas light comes on lol (This a Valero though, so it's almost a .75 cents higher than the city Valero per gallon) Be careful of the credit card reader though it's absolute shit. I had to scan my card 5 times before the pump worked, and then this morning received a fraud alert from capital one. THEY CHARGED ME A DOLLAR ever time I swiped the card even though no gas was purchased. Ended up having to use another card since swiping it five times locked the card. Good thing I had another card or I'd be stuck in the sticks. Great atmosphere and a rocking band we're playing in the back with plenty of bikes out and people having a good time. On 5/11, during a late-night visit to grab drinks and candy after celebrating my birthday and Mother's Day, I had an unpleasant interaction with a cashier named Laci. While ringing up my items, one didn't scan, and I made a lighthearted joke: "Is it free 99?" I immediately added, "Just kidding." Laci responded, not playfully but rudely, with "Now it's going to be $5 for asking," in a tone that felt unnecessarily sharp and disrespectful. This interaction took place at Register 2, Transaction #7206. I'm not overly sensitive, but the dismissive attitude really caught me off guard--especially when I was just trying to enjoy a simple moment at the end of a special day. This isn't the first frustration I've had here. The card readers at the pumps didn't work properly for months--I had to walk inside multiple times because my card kept getting stuck. Thankfully, they've recently been fixed. To be fair, the gas prices here are great--some of the cheapest in town--which is why I've kept coming back. But after this most recent experience, I'm questioning if it's worth it. What's missing here is basic respect and courtesy. As a local, that matters to me.
