Listen up Ladies!! If you are fed up with doctors who are…read moreall the cliches we hate (LATE for appt, inattentive, spend very little face time with you) then go see my doctor and you will be SPOILED. Although he is only has office hrs in STL 2-3 days weekly, you can usually get in that very day you phone. In 2 yrs, I've only waited 1 time in lobby for my appt, that was 10 min. every other appt has been right on schedule. He doesn't have a nurse, you see him, Dr. Ishida, for 15 min to 30 min. however long it takes. He listens, explains, then discusses coarse of care AND gets your opinions of his choice of care, medication, cure, etc. I have to warn you, the appearance of his office may be a bit off-putting because he has paperwork and books everywhere---he is somewhat eccentric---but he is a prolific reader & writer---you'll GET it. He has an impressive resume, including a stint at educating medical students. How adorable is this: he just returned from a 2 wk trip to Japan and brought back some small souvenirs for some of his patients. ahhh He took the time to explain to me, the area he visited and how the gift represented the region and even translated the kanjis so I could share the info with my hubby. Bad news: he has recently decided not to deal with insurance companies any more (can't say I blame him). And, although I was only paying $15 co-pay to him as a general physician, I am now paying his full office rate - $65. I will continue to do so, cuz I love this doctor. DR. ISHIDA is the best doctor I've had in my entire adult life (I'm 39).

Let's be honest, no one likes going to the gynecologist. (Reason #1 why I can't give this place 5…read morestars, but I seriously considered it.) Seriously. But we do it because we're supposed to. I've been coming to OB-Gyn Associates for years, mainly because that's where my mother goes. They run quite the good office, making what could be a horrifying trip to the doctor, merely a minorly uncomfortably one. The office is located conveniently at the U Club tower across from the Galleria. The waiting room is clean, pretty, and spacious. They usually are playing some sort of women's health related TV show and there's plenty of magazines to choose from (even ones unrelated to childcare, which is nice for those of us not dealing with that aspect of life yet.) The nurses are all very professional and get you in and out very quickly. My doctor is Meera Patel and I can't say enough good things about her. (I'm sure the other doctors are great, too, but I've never seen them.) She's soft-spoken, pretty young, and non-judgmental-seeming, so she's easy to talk to and I feel comfortable asking any questions to her. She does a fabulous job of explaining what she's about to do, so that you're comfortable for the duration of the exam and know exactly what's coming. And, best of all, they operate right on time, so you're in and out as soon as possible, but they don't rush you, so you don't feel hassled and like they're shoving you out of the way. My total stay: 40 minutes from the time I pulled into the parking lot to when I was back in the car. I would definitely recommend OB-Gyn Associates and, specifically Dr. Patel, to anyone looking for a woman doctor in the St. Louis area.

I had a nasty growth, I know Ewe, which needed to be removed. The staff was very professional in every respect. The office itself is very nice and I was highly impressed with Dr. Bryan. He is gentle, spent a lot of time with me, was very thorough, and answered all my questions. I was seen numerous times in a 10 day period and each time I was treated very well by all staff I came in contact with. I ended up having to have surgery and Dr. Bryan was wonderful at the hospital. His staff made all the arrangements and everything went smoothly. This is a highly professional group of Doc's in a clean environment. If you are looking for a good Doc I would recommend Dr. Bryan or one of the others.

No, no, no, no, NO…read more So, I've been waffling back and forth on whether I was going to write a review of this particular place. With restaurants, etc. I have NO problem gushing about a place (or tearing it apart, for that matter!). But with physicians? I always hesitate. Maybe it's because I feel a closer connection with my doctor. But after today's horrid appointment, I knew I had to say something. Anything. So to Yelp I went. I had a well-woman appointment with Dr. Ewing today. My appointment was at 3:00pm. Like a good patient, I showed up 15 minutes early. The receptionist was friendly and handed me all of the necessary paperwork to fill out. I thought that was weird, since I was a current patient, but maybe that was necessary since I only visit once a year. I fill out the paperwork, and hand it back to the receptionist. I look at the clock. 2:55. Okay, cool. I play around on my phone a bit, I read a magazine. I look back up at the clock. 3:15. Hmm. Whatever, I'm used to waiting at a doctor's office a little bit past my appointment time. A nurse's aide finally comes into the waiting room to retrieve me. 3:20pm. Sigh. She does the usual blood pressure, weight check, etc. And places me in the room. Tells me the doctor will be right with me. I change into the stupid scratchy paper dress that EVERY woman hates, and I sat. And sat. And sat some more. FORTY FIVE MINUTES LATER, Dr. Ewing strolls in. No apology, no explanation, NOTHING. She uh...gets to business. I'll keep the gory details to myself. Besides my annual well-woman check up, the other reason I made an appointment was to get information on an alternate form of contraceptive. Without going into too much detail (I feel like I already did!), I told her I wanted to switch to a different birth control method. I explained to her all of my reasons why, and all of my concerns. She patiently listened, and I sat there afterwards, waiting for some professional advice. Her 'professional' advice? "Well, I can give you a pamphlet, and you can make the decision from there. It's different for every woman". WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK. Listen, I KNOW it's different for every woman. I don't expect you to look into some magical crystal ball and tell me exactly how my body will respond to a different medication. But, DOCTOR, I was hoping you'd be able to, oh I don't know, give me some actual USEFUL information that I couldn't just look up myself on the internet? I knooow you have other women who are on this form of birth control; couldn't you give me some of their experiences, complaints, etc? Needless to say, I was a bit frustrated. I hate going to the gynecologist anyway, and Dr. Ewing did nothing to make my experience at least somewhat tolerable. She couldn't even answer the questions that I asked her. I'm looking for a different doctor as we speak. I rarely say this about anything, but I will never go back.
