By far one of the best little Italian restaurants I've been to. Just south of the border in Tijuana. Service was great, waiter was friendly and asked what we wanted to drink right away. Brought out some bread for dipping in oil/balsamic vinegar. The bread was soft and perfectly toasted with seasonings on it. Made in house. Ordered chicken Alfredo and the chicken was cooked to perfection, very tender, perfectly seasoned on top of a bed of fettuccine noodles with just the right amount of sauce with lots of Parmesan cheese on top. The entire plate was delicious and such a great portion. I could not eat it all. At the moment, I wish I'd been going home so I could've took it with me but traveling didn't allow me to. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. Not too big inside, but the outdoor seating did have heaters for colder days. They had many options for desserts also. Wish I had enough space in my stomach to try them, but the plate was so filling there was no room for more. I will definitely visit again when in the area and I would recommend this to someone wanting some great Italian food in that area. The restaurant is tucked away in the back of a parking lot. Would've never expected the food to taste this great by the outside. But like they say, never judge a book by its cover. Menu is also in Spanish no English option. read more

I had no flavor and I told the waiter and he said oh yeah people say that all the time it was for a birthday and I didn't wanna make it such a big deal, but I felt really bad that I took my good friend there to celebrate her birthday Thinking it was a really nice special place ordered I think the meatballs they were like little rocks we both ordered different pastas and they both taste the same. Amazing dining experience in Tijuana!! One of the oldest Italian restaurants, if not the oldest, in Tijuana. The food is some of the best that you will find anywhere in the world. Looking for a place to eat in Mother's Day, and we were lucky to have access to this tiny precious Restaurant. You can see all the love that the owners had pouring into this fine establishment, good service, the drinks were okay, and the food looks amazing but didn't taste special or Italian to us, our Carbonara & Alfredo pasta tasted exactly the same and were extremely creamy and tasteless, hopefully the cooks get a better training. Looking forward to come hopefully on my next visit to this place and this Cosmopolitan City! read more

Me invitaron a cenar por mi cumpleaños... me encantó! Lugar escondido parece pequeño pero decorado coqueto, par de mesas afuera con calentones y área de espera verde. Aunque un establecimiento no puede ser el responsable del comportamiento de su clientela si deben de llevar la responsabilidad en el momento en que se le sigue sirviendo alcohol cuando es obvio que se les deberia de haber negado 10 bebidas atras. Estaba una pareja haciendo un espectaculo de lo mas desagradeble entre demasiadas caricias,empujones y groserias. Al momento de sentarno vimos que estaban equivocados de lugar con sus muestras de afecto. Trate de ver otra mesa pero estaba lleno.Se les veia de lo mas tomados y todavia me toco ver que les llevaron 2 bebidas mas cuando ni el vaso podian sostener. Lo mas desagradable fue ver que se sale la muchacha y el galan se queda dormido en la mesa, vuelve a entrar la muchacha y ya cuando vieron que habia que hacer lugar para una familia grande deciden CARGAR al galar entre 2 meseros y llevarlo afuera y dejarlo alla. En eso va la muchacha detras para caerse entre las mesas antes de salir. Al momento de nosotros salir vemos al galan acostado en el suelo incomodando ahora a los que estaban cenando en el patio chico que tienen. Da coraje pensar que todavia de consumir 2,500 pesos y querer gozar de una rica cena teniamos que presenciar este tipo de espectaculos. Al estar en la mesa de enseguida oimos que el consumo fue de 7000 pesos en 2 personas. Obvio que la mayoria fue en alcohol.Luego nos enteramos que ya llevaban horas alli. Veo varios reviews que te limitan la estancia. Aqui fue obvio que no. Porfavor dueños, no siempre el cliente tiene la razon. No se le puede dar servicio a todos. Es por el mismo bien de ustedes. Asi como esta pareja consumio 7000. Habremos otros que no regresaremos. Yo traia a mis hijas adolecentes y la familia que estaban tratando de acomodar entre este espectaculo traian varios menores. Came here because I am actually really good friends with the Chef, but this is my honest opinion of the restaurant, service and layout. It's kinda hidden and inside a small shopping center-ish kinda thing, there are multiple restaurants in this area, that doesn't seem to be a problem though, since when I came here on a thursday it was packed. Good thing we had reservations! Since we got there the service was outstanding, our waiter was actually related to the owner of the restaurant, which is amazing! He truly cares about the costumers and wants to see them happy, it's a family owned business and you can feel it as soon as you walk in. They have everything a standard Italian restaurant would have, the portions are generous and the food is delicious. I love the fact that they give you a little bruschetta with fresh tomato, Parmesan cheese and garlic, it tastes sooo good! I love the ambiance and energy at this location. The staff is very tentative and organized. The taste of the food is extremely good. The owner is also a great host at his restaurant. Every dish we had was far and above what we expected. Salad was excellent, nothing fancy, but we loved it. Ribeye steak was on point, the very definition of medium rare. Zolfatara comes with a lengthy history, dating back to when it was prepared by miners. The portobello would have been enough for lunch for the five of us. Lovely ambiance, friendly and high level service. Food is gorgeous. The ribeye is a must as is the delicious pasta with breadcrumbs and fennel - Zolfatara both beautiful! Went here yesterday. and i was delightfully surprised i had a great experience, I've never been so it was new to me the valet parking was quick, as soon as we walked in the restaurant there was somebody there to greet and sit us in our table, i had no reservation and still got a table quickly, the waiter was great i had already picked out what i wanted to try before i went there and ended up trying out something totally different because of the waiters suggestions. the attention was very prompt and our food was very good. i have no bad comments about this place or its staff, more restaurants should be like this!. read more

The food is amazing made with true Italian recipes and procedures from La Nona (Owner's Grandmother) from Sicilia so the food is fantastic and you feel you are in Italy.
