After 10 years as a high revenue established business client trusting JTC CPAs with my personal and…read morebusiness taxes I have finally had enough. The basics are getting missed with this firm repeatedly . The last straw was being advised by Jack Trent himself to make a large additional tax payment before any projection was completed -- resulting in an overpayment of approximately $180,000 to the IRS. His own bookkeeping numbers displayed on screen during our meeting showed I was already in overpayment territory before the additional payment was made. It gets worse. The IRS subsequently identified that the large December payment Jack advised me to make was not even included on my filed return -- a filing error confirmed by my new CPA. When I raised these concerns in writing I was repeatedly deflected rather than receiving straight answers. A very small partial fee refund around 2k was only issued after weeks of persistent documented demands. This was not isolated -- a prior year late filing resulted in an IRS penalty letter as well. I stayed loyal for 10 years. Last 4 not so great. Business owners and the general public deserve better than this.

I told her what he was charging me and she understood it was a high rate. And then said she would help me. The communication with her has been terrible. Very friendly in person, but once you leave the office, it's a different story. I have presented the majority of my taxes. She adds it up and sends it off. It's also in a Google spreadsheet so it's not difficult. I had to ask for my taxes from her, and then contact IRS to review what I owed. It's an option to pay quarterly, which she does not communicate, nor explain. I have at least six emails to her, asking her about billing and payments-she ignores them every time until today, which she was rude, and still did not answer my questions.

In the meeting when I asked how much she would charge to file my taxes, she stumbled over her words a few times and said $275... which in turn seems strange considering she charged me $250 to chat and no actual work was applied in that time. Her receptionist never mentioned any fees when I called to ask if she was accepting new clients and set up an consultation and nothing regarding a payment was ever asked of me during my visit and then a week later a $250 invoice was emailed. When I contacted them about it, Linda maybe up some fabricated story about it all. During the consult, the way she described getting money back on my return and then assuring me that "only one person in each profession really only gets audited" didn't make me feel too confident in how she would handle my taxes. I should of left her office when I read the negative reviews on her Yelp account before calling me back into my appointment. Believe these reviews people, my experience was very similar to them.

When my husband called her only to ask if there was anything she could do to help, she went crazy on him over the phone. She told him she never makes a mistake. I find that hard to believe unless she is a robot. Then her secretary emailed my husband to let him know that it was the banks fault and that I should talk to a manager at the bank. First off it was not the banks fault that the IRS did not have correct account information and second I did talk to a manager because he was the only one with enough experience to figure out what had happened. Bottom line is if you want your taxes/accounting done by someone who is a professional and treats you like she appreciates you as a customper DON'T GO TO LINDA M. ELLISON!!!
