Get EVERYTHING in writing, especially her prices. She charged me $250 for a "50 min consultation" and was all over the place in that consult, not offering any substantial helpful information. In the meeting when I asked how much she would charge to file my taxes, she stumbled over her words a few times and said $275... which in turn seems strange considering she charged me $250 to chat and no actual work was applied in that time. Her receptionist never mentioned any fees when I called to ask if she was accepting new clients and set up an consultation and nothing regarding a payment was ever asked of me during my visit and then a week later a $250 invoice was emailed. When I contacted them about it, Linda maybe up some fabricated story about it all. During the consult, the way she described getting money back on my return and then assuring me that "only one person in each profession really only gets audited" didn't make me feel too confident in how she would handle my taxes. I should of left her office when I read the negative reviews on her Yelp account before calling me back into my appointment. Believe these reviews people, my experience was very similar to them. read more

Horribly unprofessional! Linda made a minor mistake on our tax return that truly could have been my mistake as well. When my husband called her only to ask if there was anything she could do to help, she went crazy on him over the phone. She told him she never makes a mistake. I find that hard to believe unless she is a robot. Then her secretary emailed my husband to let him know that it was the banks fault and that I should talk to a manager at the bank. First off it was not the banks fault that the IRS did not have correct account information and second I did talk to a manager because he was the only one with enough experience to figure out what had happened. Bottom line is if you want your taxes/accounting done by someone who is a professional and treats you like she appreciates you as a customper DON'T GO TO LINDA M. ELLISON!!! Side note, we had recommended Linda to my mom before all this happened and her office didn't even have the decency to call her back. Luckily for my mom. read more

I wont recommend her! She is so classless, rude and expensive. My company hired her to take care of our books and she didn't do her job. Her office was always close, emails were returned 2-4 days later with no clear answer. All the people you see on her website don't exist. She has only 1 employee who works part time and 1 seasonal employee who only works during tax season. At the end of the year, she billed us for a big amount with out any disclosure of the job she claimed it was done. She threatened us to send us to collection with her attorney brother if we fail to pay instead of negotiating or giving us more options. She was so unprofessional to the point that she will hang off the phone and yield at you for no reason. She acts so sweet to get your business but then she become so evil. Linda has been doing my taxes for over 15 years. She's personal, professional and my appointments are always on time. I have recommended tons of people to her and not one of them has had anything bad to say. I love that I can call her during the year with a question and she's right there with the answer. Keep up the good work Linda. read more

This "Lady" used the "Bait & Hook" scam on Me..& wen i called her out on it, she refused my business the Next Year!! I was working with one of her associates but when she found out, she forced that associate to call me and tell me Linda refused my business and not her associate. What kind of Employer does that??! She didnt even have the common courtesy to do it herself. You will be sorry to work with this unprofessional clown that cheats the "system", like Linda Ellison. And dont be surprised if she decides you arent worth her time and she doesnt need your business the following year. And if you are dumb enough to use her, have another CPA as a back-up.;) read more

I am a Certified Public Accountant with over 25 years of experience. I was raised in Modesto and attended local schools. Graduated from Stanislaus State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. I have worked for American Express Tax & Business Services as their Senior Accountant and then opened my own firm when American Express closed their office doors in 1997. My specialties are in tax accounting, planning, and preparation with clients who have complex tax returns. I have passed the Series 6 & 7 Securities License exam as a prerequisite for my employment with American Express. Also working closely with many financial planners due to my prior history with investment firms and all aspects of business operations. This qualifies me to service all financial needs. Filed our taxes online through the Boise, Idaho office. Started with Stephanie, then got passed to…read moreKarlie. After filing in April, both stopped replying. No refund, no updates. Then came two IRS letters saying we owed money. We found out they filed the wrong year, 2023 instead of 2024. We've spent nearly $300 to fix their mistake and still can't get help. Offices are closed, the 800 number told us to buy software, and no one is taking accountability. This is not okay. Someone from H&R Block needs to make this right, immediately.

The woman doing her taxes even said that if she needs more help, not referring to giving her money, to come back and she can help her more. This is what makes this place great. The empathetic employees. These ladies seem to know that this is a hard year on everyone and that we all need an empathetic ear. H&R Block now charges over $200 to do your taxes. If you have more than one paper, they will charge you for each document they have to file. So if you have your normal tax form but you also have a tax form for stocks, they will charge you more because of the extra forms. Crazy. They also do not do military or senior citizen discounts anymore. Just a heads up for anyone that is looking for that.

I told her what he was charging me and she understood it was a high rate. And then said she would help me. The communication with her has been terrible. Very friendly in person, but once you leave the office, it's a different story. I have presented the majority of my taxes. She adds it up and sends it off. It's also in a Google spreadsheet so it's not difficult. I had to ask for my taxes from her, and then contact IRS to review what I owed. It's an option to pay quarterly, which she does not communicate, nor explain. I have at least six emails to her, asking her about billing and payments-she ignores them every time until today, which she was rude, and still did not answer my questions.

I have been both a individual client and a business client with this company for over 10 years. Linda is very professional and up to date on all tax information (both business and personal). She has very professional and constant business hours for her office and educated staff. I felt compelled to write this review after reading the review written on 1/21/2014- You must take charge of your own business Lbm Logistics?? Linda Ellision,CPA is an honored and established accountant in the Modesto area. We have multiple units with weekly vendors, G&L's, and monthly P&L's with a balance sheet for the company as a whole every month. After 120 mo. I have only encountered 1 mistake and it was because I coded incorrectly. This office recognized the potential error,called me, and corrected it to the correct cost center before the ink was dry on the P&L. I have been a client of Linda Ellison for just under 2 years now and her and her staff have been absolutely amazing! I have been met with nothing but professionalism and friendliness in all of my experiences with them. Inez, the book keeper is incredible and will get you organized in a jiffy, so you can stop pulling your hair out. My calls and emails are always returned promptly, and I've never once had a problem with office hours conflict etc. Linda has saved me so much money, time, and stress that I couldn't possibly put a price tag on it. Id recommend Linda Ellisons to anybody looking for a loyal and honest accountant. Not to mention she's personable and won't make you feel silly for asking help on certain business things that professionals act like we should all know. Thats hard to find. read more

Linda and her staff are wonderful. I would greatly recommend this CPA. Before we went to Linda we would give our tax preparer our information and they wouldn't ask us any questions or give us any advice. We always owed. With Linda she gave us many options on how to keep our liability down. We have been with her for 8 years. Her staff is great and very friendly and her office is really nice. 5 stars for sure!
