I stopped by Market Bar and tried the Lavender Matcha for $10, and it was absolutely delicious!…read more The matcha was smooth, refreshing, and had a wonderful lavender flavor that made it feel extra special. The manager I believed welcomed me BACK. I said "Oh thank you", but in my head I was thinking this was my first time back in months, lol. I must have a twin, lol. Ok, back to the review. The staff was very friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. There's also plenty of seating in a quaint, charming little market setting, making it a great spot to sit, relax, and enjoy your drink. Definitely a hidden gem--I'll be back to try more flavors! 5 stars!

Houston Flea Market is the definition of "you get what you pay for." It's overcrowded, disorganized, and feels like a maze of the same vendors selling the same cheap imported products over and over. The aisles can be dirty, parking is chaotic, and customer service varies wildly depending on who you're dealing with. Prices aren't always the bargain you'd expect either--many sellers charge close to retail unless you're willing to haggle. The food is one of the better parts, but it isn't enough to make up for the overall experience. If you're hoping to find unique antiques or hidden treasures, you'll probably leave disappointed after digging through piles of low-quality merchandise. Unless you specifically enjoy the flea market atmosphere or know exactly what you're looking for, there are much better ways to spend your time.

The market itself is intimate and easy to navigate with about 20 vendors. Pecans, produce, mushrooms, hummus, samosas, seasonal veggies, gluten free tamales, wild caught shrimp, sweet potato donuts, home roast coffee, jewelry, fragrance, juice, and pet treats were a few items that came to mind in remembering the market. They do have a bit of everything with few duplicates! The wild caught shrimp, mushrooms and burbz coffee were truly stand out for me, but the real treat, was that the few vendors I talked to really knew their stuff. If you're in the area, this market is worth a visit.

Wonderful variety of farmers, bakers, and artisan makers -- plus food vendors serving tamales and other multicultural favorites. Many people make the mistake of thinking a farmers market works like a grocery store. It doesn't. Once a vendor sells out, that's it -- there's no back room to restock. It opens at 8 am, so come early if you can.
