This is, to me, the best gun shop in the South Hills area. Greg -- the owner -- and his staff are extremely friendly, and they manage to make even the complete newbie feel welcome and valuable. More impressively, they are sensitive to the needs of women, minorities, and youth -- for instance, a woman is available to help female customers talk through gun selection, concealed carry, and other topics. Guns Priced Right gives off the same kind of vibe that you used to see in the best mom-and-pop stores in America: a business built by people who are so passionate about their hobby that the hobby became a business. These guys will not push you or try to upsell you just because they want to make a commission. They will not talk down to you, or treat you with suspicion/dismissal because of your sex or the color of your skin. They currently have one of the best selections of guns in the area, they do layaway, and have a great consignment policy: they'll sell your gun for you, and you get 90% of the sale price. When I came in here on a Saturday with my wife and infant son, I had no idea what to expect. Most gun shops I've been to (a) aren't welcoming of babies, (b) treat women like they were children, (c) treat minorities like they were criminals, and (d) are insensitive to the first-time gun buyer. At Guns Priced Right, the staff (a) oohed and aahed over my baby, (b) treated my wife with the respect I feel she deserves, (c) treated me like a valued customer ... almost as if I were an old friend they hadn't seen in years, and (d) answered every question -- no matter how simple -- correctly and with aplomb. And they had the gun I wanted (no small feat, given the current political climate) for a more than fair price point! No one was wearing a mask, on top of that I walked in and they didn't even want to help me no one said hi. tried doing a title transfer they scoffed & told me they can't do past 3 because they are lazy. Save yourself the trip just go to GUNNER ARMS & AMMO they have more stock & are way friendlier people. Will be buying from this store because as others have said a no nonsense approach. Prices are cheap IMO and the service is outstanding allowing you a low pressure buying experience even for those that are not experience with buying guns. My gf wanted to look at a few guns just to get an idea for her next visit to actually buy one and the guy behind the counter allowed her to handle a few of them with no pressure on any one brand more on questions how she liked the feel of one gun vs another etc.. 5 stars all day long. read more

Purchased a couple long guns and several handguns over the last few years and a lot of ammo. Went to return 1 box of ammo that was packaged wrong (3 inch shells in a 2 3/4 box) I was given a hard time. The boxes are identical for 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells in .410. Was told they did not sell me the ammo. It's true that if you don't go there on a weekly basis, you don't matter. Buy all you want. But try to return something and their true colors shine through. So Greg, you lost a good paying customer over a $24.00 box of ammo and a bad attitude; not going there ever again. read more

absolutely awesome gun store! super nice and amazing staff, my first experience there was with my brother when he went to get his first gun, and he purchased a taurus pt111 g2 at an amazing price!, my brother has looked at other gun stores in the area and was looking for something cheap bc it was his first gun purchase, other stores would tell him how crappy that brand was and to never buy them! however this wasnt the case at guns priced right, they didnt trash the brand and showed him the safety features and educated him on proper use, they made him feel welcome and confident on his purchase which is rare these days at a lot of gun shops. this experience i shared with my brother then lead me to purchase my own gun bc of the knowledge, friendliness and experience of the employees and i have to say i had the same exact experience!!! this place is perfect for the newbie all the way up to the professional. just on the buying experience alone i have recommended all my friends to purchase here. guns priced right will continue to have my business! read more

For me I find this shop to be the best around from what I can see. I use to live real close to them but now on the otherside of Pittsburgh, but I still go to them. Here are some reasons I like them so much. They are nice! It seems like so many other shops have an attitude, almost as if they are somehow doing me a favor by being open. The sell your guns on commission! We have two basic ways to sell guns we do not want, with the first option of taking it to a store or shop and getting next to nothing for it while the shop turns it around and sells it for almost twice what you got paid. The second option is to try and sell it ourselves, which can be a hassle as you have to put up ads, some cost money, answer emails and go meet the buyer for a transfer. Guns Priced Right will sell it for you and only charge a 10% fee. They even take pictures of the gun and put it on the website for free. You get to price your gun and keep 90% of the profit and you don't have to do a damn thing but pick up your money. The thing I like the best about Guns Priced Right is that they accept all transfers. There is no extra fee from a online purchase, there are no restriction as to what companies they will accept a transfer from and they are just as friendly and nice to you doing a transfer as they are selling you one of their guns. The fee for transfers, either from other FFL or private is $25. Yes there are a couple people who do transfer for $20, but you have to make an appointment with them and some have restrictions on what online companies they will accept from. The $5 extra dollars goes to the rent at Guns Priced Right so that I can walk in an get my new gun any time I want during business hours. The extra $5 is worth it, plus I am supporting a great local buisness that prices their products at or even lower then big box stores. I find Guns Priced Right to be the best and truly believe that they do right by their customers and live up to their name. Greg could charge more and make more money but he wants to be fair to people and provide great service at a reasonable price. read more
