Outside is simple and clean but it the Food that really counts.

I will start this review by saying HELL...TO..THE..YEAH! So, i should mention that there is ALOT of great places to eat in sitges. Seriously, there is some great produce that these guys turn into some lush food. So when i say i went here twice in 4 nights and means something. There are daily tapas. The owner gies tovtge market everyday and gets a nice range if fresh produce and the team transforms it into a nice range of tempura and topped bread. Seing is believing and tasting is knowing. Please do go. At around 7:30 it opens back up for the night and let me say, it is very popular and for good reason. So get down early. Enjoy. X

Wow, absolutely a must. Came before the opening and there was a line. Tried everything. Duck liver and the stake were absolutely delicious.

With reservations a must, six of us finally got to try La Picara. There are a variety of tapas, ponchos and raciones on their menu. We tried a lot of them, and everything was delicious with the possible exception of Sepia a la Plancha, grilled squid which was too tough and chewy. Do NOT neglect to see their "Suggeriments fora de Carta" on a chalkboard. Most every off-the-chart suggestion we tried was exceptional, with my favorite actually being Tomaquets de Temporada amp Burratina í old D'Alfabrega. This was probably the best Burrata and Tomatoes serving I've ever tasted. It must be their spiced basil oil. The other standout special was a delicious Pintxo de Foie a la Plantxa, luxurious grilled foie gras skewer. A couple of drag queens came in promoting their show. They were a hoot at our table. Paola, the owner, was so kind and gracious. Service was fantastic. La Picara is definitely a must try during your time in Sitges!

Also, reservations for lunch and dinner are basically a requirement especially daily in the high season and on low season weekends. The best way is to stop by in person a few days in advance. Where's the best paella in Sitges? Quite possibly right here at Bon Estar. Whenever we come to Sitges we almost make a pilgrimage to Bon Estar to partake in their famous and fabulous Paella Marinera, Seafood Paella. Also unique and delicious is Arroz negro con Sépia y Almejas, Black Rice with Cuttlefish and Clams. This trip we went to Bon Estar twice. I tried the Prensado de Cochinillo "Bon Estar 50" which is Roasted Suckling Pig. I'm not sure what the 50 meant and the dish was not what I was expecting, thinking it would be more like a Lechon with crispy skin. Instead it came in a pastry puff shell. Paletina de Codero Asada a Baja Tempuratura, Roast Shoulder of Lamb was nice and tender. As always, the Tiramisu dessert is a highlight. It comes in a jar, and so rich and creamy! Pair it with a Cortado!

We had traveled from the US to finalize all details on a prior trip and everything seemed squared away. The day of the dinner came and the actual dinner was converted to a "standing happy hour" without our consent. The staff hid the chairs in back of the tables against the wall so all guest didn't have access to it. I had a pregnant guest part of my bridal party that obtained a chair and they told her she could not sit and had to stand. The service was atrocious and as the couple we were embarrassed for this treatment because the dinner was to show our appreciation to our guest . Also it came with a hefty price tag. We complained and all they did was bring the chairs to the front of the tables and offered an extra drink at the end. It was awful and a waste of money. The staff needs to learn to be more understanding and solution driven. DO NOT DINE HERE. Pretty views but not worth the hassle.
