Gurkan replaced a tire for me and it developed a bulge on the side the next day. He said it was not his responibility and would not replace the defective tire. I will not use him again. read more

It's refreshing to find an honest mechanic who does and talk like mechanic. I was surprised to find one inCary right where I live. I have had few visit and always had gotten an honest diagnostic of problems with fare and reasonable estimate. I have seen few reviewers who had problem with their attitude, I find their attitude better than expected. I moved to the Raleigh/Cary area a few months ago and started using Gurkan's shop very shortly after that. Gurkan is VERY honest, reliable and responsive. I have a couple of classics they work on those as well as they work on my Cmax. They don't try to take advantage of you in anyway, in fact they point out the things your vehicle needs and keep you informed along the process. Highly recommended. read more

Story time: I am a home health therapist. I need to see my patients in their home. I woke up and my car battery is dead. I jumped it, brought it over to Mr. G with a new battery and asked how long it would take and the cost. He knows that I have lots of people to get to today, so he took it in himself and said to not worry about the cost. Look, I dont care about the cost, personally. I can afford it, but it just shows that Mr. Gurkan's heart is in the right place. He wants me to go back on the road and see my patients. You tell me another place that is like this. These guys have my business and my wife's business for life. I have not gotten this kind of service before. Especially for auto repair. I've been the Merlin, to dealerships, and so many other places where they gouge you, lie to you, and give you old parts and charge you for new ones. Not here. The guys here are so damn honest. Mr Gurkan and the mechanics who work with him take time to explain to you what happened to your car/parts, why it happened, how to prevent it, what they did to fix it, and top of all, the price is fair. Before buying a used car at this business, have it thoroughly inspected by an independent, professional mechanic who is experienced with the make and model in question. A simple test drive and visual inspection is insufficient to reveal hidden electrical (or mechanical) issues. read more

I do not recommend this place. They charged me $100 for nothing and asked me to take the car to the dealer to check what is wrong with the car (or which sensor is bad). Owner very rude person. Owner speaks my town home language, just was feeling shy toward him otherwise, I would not give them the $100. (Overall will not give them another business) read more

I've been going to Gurkan's for more than 15 years and they have always done an excellent job. Gurkan has a strong Turkish asccent but don't let that be a reason not use these guys. They know what they are doing and their prices are very reasonable. Finding a good mechanic you can trust can be a hard thing to do. Gurkan's is your place. read more

I have been taking my cars to Gurkans since I started working in Cary in 2007 and they've been great to work with. Today my service engine light was on so I took it in. Turns out a gas cap was loose (or some emission cap?), they tightened it, cleared the signal...and no charge. The only time in the 9 years I've been working with them that I wasn't too thrilled was when they couldn't figure out some acceleration problem and they told me the dealer would have to figure it out. But overall, it's been great, and never once have I felt like I was being overcharged. read more
