He was very communicative--even with the 13 hour time difference, I was able to coordinate with him easily. I had my husband be taken out of the house three hours before the party to set up... the balloon arch was delivered right on time. The photographer showed up half an hour earlier than the party. The magician I wanted to hire was booked somewhere else and I only found out a few days before, but the balloon sculpture artist Mark recommended instead was an absolute hit with the kids as well as the adults, which was a pleasant surprise. He made my husband the most outrageous birthday hat. Right when he was supposed to be done, one of the kids tripped and popped his balloons and got upset, and he stayed longer to make him (and a few other stragglers) more balloons. Truly kind. The photographer David was also really so helpful, friendly, and on it! He came early and helped with some of the set up... he was attentive and also very nice to talk to. Very natural (sometimes it's awkward when a photographer's in your face taking pictures but it wasn't awkward at all). We got a USB full of pictures right after the party! I thought that we could do a lot of the things that a wedding planner could do and save some money but at the same time we had so many things to worry about it would be less stressful for us at the wedding to have a wedding planner who we could rely on to make sure everything went smoothly. After everything has been said and done, I could not be happier that we decided to get one and that we decided to work with Rachel at Glass slipper. What I found most helpful was being able to check in with someone who actually knew what to expect. Neither of us had been married before so you can read all the books you want, sometimes you just need a little life experience to really guide some of the decisions your need to make and will likely never have to make again. Being able to talk to and email Rachel made this a little easier for us, went things were quoted and if it sounds a reasonable rate or when something went awry we were able to check in with someone who knew what you could do or alternatives. I think inevitably thing will go wrong the day of your wedding. I think things will go wrong in various levels of impact the week leading up to your wedding, from last minute sick relatives, to things that went missing, to things that weren't thought of. There was managing venders and any mishaps regarding them and working with everyone in the venue. This is where I really appreciated hiring Rachel. I felt like she really did everything she could to lessen the impact of those things we had the ability to control and really help us enjoy our day to the fullest without having to worry about the small stuff. I think that in itself was what made it worth it and I am so happy we went with Glass Slipper Wedding and Events.
