We did not move forward with Events at Stone Park due solely to the behavior and response times of their Event Coordinator. I wish I had seen a review like this one before I got my hopes up. The space, the food, and the budget all worked for us. The only reason this is not 1 star is because it wouldn't be fair since we did not end up holding our event here. If you'd like to know all the in and out details here we go: I feel I gave the coordinator Barbara a lot of grace - this is an insane time for the restaurant and event industry and people in general - but ultimately I couldn't continue pursuing an event with her in charge. I reached out via email - no response for 10 days I followed up - she responded I reached out again - she didn't respond for 7 days I followed up again- she responded, apologized, gave me info, and said she'd get in touch with me again shortly with her availability for a meeting 2 weeks pass I follow up again - she responded with no acknowledgement of the time gap We schedule an in person walk through - she emailed saying she'd be a few minutes late. After 15 minutes I emailed her back letting her know we were waiting in front of the event space. After 30 minutes of waiting we knocked on the door of the restaurant space and there she was inside. No apology. It was baffling why she didn't look for us at the event space - we realized then that we had seen her walk by 15 minutes before, laptop in hand. Because it bears repeating I'll repeat - she never apologized. She only hurriedly said she left her phone in an uber and then rushed us through the meeting. It was obvious that she was not taking us seriously. She was patronizing. She seemed amused that I had brought a list of questions on my phone to ask. The only positive to give is that she knew something about the space. I came to the appointment happy to give it a chance (even if she was running a few minutes late), and I left angry and insulted. 3 days later she reaches out, apologizes lightly for being late, and asks if we have questions. 5 days later I email her for a sample contract as she had mentioned in our meeting. I've never heard from her since. We are now working with a different local place.

The reception we attended had a 90 minute cocktail "hour" followed by a 5 course seated Asian/Fusion (Kosher) dinner served family style. Meanwhile, during the beginning of the meal the space used for cocktails was transfomed into the DJ/Dancing area. All the while, terrific wine, beer and cocktails flowed from a well-run open bar. This is a good option for planning an NYC small wedding (the one we attended was about 80-90 people and felt crowded at times.). If you are having a big wedding, this will be too small. It would be a GREAT space for an office holiday party or Bat/Bar mitzvah as well. My only suggestion? Better a/c & ventilation - especially near the 3 unisex bathrooms. The bathroom area was hot and smelled awful. 3 bathrooms was not really adequate for the group especially when one was being used alot for the bride's wardrobe changes. In anycase, the venue is fine - but make sure you get a skilled, competent event planner to help you bring in the right look & catering.
