Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place, but just for the coconut shrimp I would. The ambiance is fun, but the service was incredibly slow and most of the the food wasn't anything special. However, if you are a coconut shrimp type of person, these shouldn't be missed.

Breakfast was amazing, so good I forgot to take a picture. Service is excellent! We sat indoor and it was nice and cool, great ambiance with classic rock music and decor.

Review #160 Great spot to eat in Mazatlan and listen to rock music at night. However, I go here for breakfast as they have my favorite breakfast I think about all year before I come to Mazatlan in December. The prawn omelette It's called Camarones Omelette which in the U.S. when you think of a shrimp omelette you think of those tiny bay shrimp that are always frozen and never super fresh. I never get that in the U.S. Huge prawns are a plenty inside and on top of your omelette with cheese, egg, and a cream sauce that is fantastic. Not too thick but not watery. Served with hot tortillas, refritos (smooth as silk), hash browns and roasted jalapeños on the side (take little bites as they are hot but flavorful). This is my favorite breakfast in all of Mazatlan as you can get the usual breakfast foods anywhere. I like unique. The service here is fantastic. Coffee always hot, always filled, and you are always being checked on. The same staff have been here the past 8 years we have eaten here but they have probably been here at keadt 15-20 years if my guess is right. I think the omelette was even better this year for some reason. Maybe more prawns. Yes I love prawns! Others had the Chillaquillas with chicken and the Eggs Montulena which is eggs, tortilla, beans, cheese and fried plantain with a red sauce. They all loved their dishes. TIP: They do make a mean fajita dish I have gotten in the evening last year so if you like carne asada fajitas with your 80's rock music at night, this is a great place for some evening food and entertainment. Muchas Gracias Gus Gus! 5 stars for the service and Camarone Omelette. The song for this review is "Rock The Casbah" by The Clash. Come here at night after 9pm and you'll know why.

Food is mediocre, ordered steak tacos that should be called fat tacos. The chicken is dry and unseasoned.

We stopped by here as one of our first stops. It has plenty of outdoor seating. Service was fine, but not great. The food was so-so.

Some positives: - it's on the beach, - great view of the ocean, - the special guacamole is delicious That's all. It took over 20 minutes to get a server to take our drink order and the place wasn't busy. But in the meantime the tequila sample guy brought over 4 bottles of tequila for us to taste. Eventually a server came by after we flagged one down took our orders. My order came wrong twice. How do you screw up a beer. Oh well. The coco loco took a long time to come to the table, but it's a giant coconut and probably took time to break into. I shared the special guacamole with my one friend and the other ordered the chicken chimichangas. She loved them. If my friend didn't want to come to this location I never would have come back.

Staff keeps the night moving with a fun party vibe. I'd definitely recommend this place for a small group looking for fun, music (acoustic 80s/70s top 40 hits) & drinks. Food was VERY bland. I had the enchiladas rojos and it didn't taste like anything at all... tortillas were dry and the chicken inside was dry and bland, the cheese was thick and greasy and it dominated the dish. I definitely wouldn't return for any food. Looking for authentic mexican cuisine and this was a disappointment to the taste buds.

So our pulmonia driver recommended Cheers, a full service bar that was about 5 minutes away. We gave it a try and within 10 minutes, a live band started playing. The band began playing ranchero like music, not the genre we wanted to hear. However, being the good sport we were, we stayed a good 45 minutes and ordered drinks. All staff were polite, helpful and accommodating. Servers definitely worked the room. There were lots of chairs to choose from, front and back but decided to sit at the very back area of the bar. No offense to the band, but we preferred not too close as we were not feeling the music already, unfortunately. Lesson learned, we should have asked the hostess what kind of music the band was going to play for the evening. How did we miss that. Cheers had tons of tables and chairs to choose from, especially for large groups. There was even a private room. The ambience was perfect, giant TV, good service, basically a good package. We would definitely come back to Cheers if DJ (or band) if hip hop, reggaeton, 70s/80s/90s pop dance were being played. We would even come for Ibiza sounds just so we can get out of resort to chill for the evening. We ended up finishing our night at Gus Gus, half a mile down the street.

The proprietor was busy cleaning the exterior of the place and we asked (in Spanish) if he was open and he answered back in English that yeah, we could come on inside. Sometimes little happenstance discoveries make life the best, and this is one of them. There's a very small brewery room where beer is made right on the premises. It's not the fanciest of operations, but it works. We opted for a sampler of local beers from regions throughout the country. The portion sizes of the sampler were huge. I had a large bottle of water and our total check was less than $6 U.S. The guy also popped fresh popcorn for us as a bar snack. The vibe is really cool, with loud Spanish music and an open (practically outdoor) beer garden feel. Instead of a traditional German look, it felt more like a warehouse with rad graffiti and street art all over. Since it was still early, we were the only folks inside until two older American women wandered in. They came up to the bar where we were quietly enjoying the beer and conversation in Spanish with the man there and loudly yelled out "do you have BELGIAN BEER?!?" No kidding. He was so polite and said no, they only had Mexican beer. The ladies were none to happy with this and said something along the lines of "what kind of brewery doesn't have Belgian beer?" and left. We then all three proceeded to shake our heads, roll our eyes, and poke fun at them. Ridiculing idiots is the universal language that can bring us all together, LOL.

But walking down the street one day while exploring Mazatlan, we stumbled across Cueva Del Diablo. This is an amazing open air craft beer bar with some delicious offerings. Pale Ale's, Red's, IPA's etc. This is exactly what I needed and have been searching for all week. Even the locals I asked didn't know about this place. Cueva needs to be put on the map, especially with such good beers on tap. However, their is an apartment right above the brewery that has a patio overlooking the entire establishment. This patio sadly held the most obnoxious POS dog on the planet that was incessantly barking at every patron in this place. It was so obnoxious that it caused us to leave prematurely. So if someone could do away with it that would be great. Mkay.
