We ordered the chilaquiles poblano because my wife wanted to compare to yesterday's (next door). We didn't finish yesterday's and after eating the plate here, we left hungry. We were also disappointed that our menu showed panela as part of our dish but they were out. They put some shredded cotija. And no cheese to supplement their being out of panella. We sat in the cafe, which was slightly cooled, but the service (waiter and cooks) are in another room. Food is not bad, overpriced like every restaurant on this street. In a pinch, I guts it will do but they have some strong competition close by with better food, service and at the same prices! read more

Had lunch with hubby, the best Hamburger and French Fries in ALL of Mazatlan. Cook to perfection, meat tasty, fresh lettuce, sliced tomato, onion raw or grilled, crisp lettuce, French fries crisp on the outside still creamy on the inside. This is where I go when I'm looking for a fresh salad. My choice is the Mediterranean Salad. Always delicious. My husband prefers the steak quesadilla. So there something about Mary's (ha, I had to, don't judge me) that I can't quite put my finger on. The reviews are very high at this place and I completely agree that service, staff, hospitality are all top notch. Kudos to all the staff, they are super friendly and awesome. I just wasn't really feeling their burgers as much. By no means was the burger bad, it was OK but not the best burger I have ever eaten in Mexico. I think people flocking here more or less contributes to people missing home and wanting a taste of the States. You get that all here: burgers, fries, salads, milkshakes, 50s-style decor, Coco Cola in a glass, ice cream - Americanan at its best. I guess for me when I'm in Mexico I would rather eat great Mexican food =) Also the shrimp here are AMAZING! But that is just my opinion which by no means takes away what works well, Mary's is always busy for a reason. Good service and good food draw people in. Today we had a late lunch to hold us until our 10pm New Years Dinner. We all split the Juicy Lucy Burger and Philly Cheesesteak Mexican Style. The Juicy Lucy is a 1/2 pound burger made with cheese inside and topped off however you like. We had lettuce and tomato on ours Served on a nice fresh roll, this was one juicy delicious burger. They have tons of burgers made any way you want so be sure to put this on your list for a lunch. The Philly Cheesesteak Mexican Style combines both steak and chorizo! Cooked with onions and mushrooms and Poblano Chiles and served on a traditional Philly type roll. This was equally as excellent as the Juicy Lucy. Topo Chico is available which is great here (Soda Water) on a warm day. One of the best parts of the meal is always seeing the owner Mary. She has been here from Minnesota for the past 15 years and really has a passion for service and good food. One of our favorite breakfast and lunch spots. We had a nice breakfast after a short walk from our resort. We've been looking for a GOOD breakfast (resort buffets haven't been that great, unfortunately). Here at Mary's, our food came out quick, hot, and well prepared. Priced at a good value, staff is very nice and the outside patio is great for enjoying the December summer weather. Only complaint is the flies...but hey, we were outside, so outside elements are expected. We would definitely return when we come back to mazatlan. read more

If you are in the mood for more American food on Mazatlan, this place is perfect! Walking distance from our resort, we ordered a little of everything. Pancakes, waffle, eggs, sausage, omelettes, burgers, salads, hash browns...you name it. Everything was delicious and made to order. English is spoken here as well. Mary's a great little gem hidden in the city of Mazatlan! Close proximity to our hotel, Royal Villas, it was within walking distance. My boyfriend and I went for ice cream because it was recommended and ended up getting dinner when there because it all looked so good! As a gringo craving a classic hamburger this really hit the spot. I had a mushroom cheeseburger (with bacon for an extra 20 pesos). It came with very good fries, and along with a lemonade i got out for a reasonable 200 pesos. Really good service too. I'll definitely go back! Back again a few months later, this time substituted a salad for the fries and no bacon on the burger. Totally stuffed and the burger as big and juicy as before, and the salad and caeser dressing was great. read more

The restaurant is family owned and operated. Very friendly atmosphere. The seating is outdoors, but if it is too hot Mary's has an onsite ice cream shop with indoor seating and AC. read more
