Mark the tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the neighborhood. He made several points about the history of the area that I had not heard about before and I thought I was familiar with the area. If you're looking for a relaxed date night and enjoy brews and history, give this tour a go, you won't be disappointed!

Trust me, my husband and I have done a lot of Segway-ing in the past few years, and this operation out of Charlotte is solid, and a definite for any guests you may have visiting from out of town. (Heck, it's a definite for anyone who hasn't been on a Seg before and LIVES in Charlotte!) QCS has different tours, and we've been on a historical one, along with one for the South End. They're always informative, and include plenty of riding. You'll have ample time to get acclimated to their machines-- which are in good condition. (Trust me, some places have old, old Segways that don't quite respond the right way...not fun.) This place also doesn't put their machines on Turtle Mode. That prevents the rider from going fast. Actually, it prevents the rider from going ANY speed over a turtle's speed. The various tour guides we've had here in Charlotte are entertaining without being cheesy and rehearsed, and they're big into safety, as they should be. TIP: Sign up for their mailing list, or check them out on Facebook or call for specials. Prices can be up there, but having a Groupon, or other deal helps make it affordable for a big group. PS: I always like asking our tour guides, no matter where we are, how many people have fallen off the Segway. The response is always kinda funny... :-)

I started to watch it some when I moved to Indiana in the early 2000's. The 1st race I watched all the way through was when Dale Earnhardt died. Other than that, my knowledge comes from Days of Thunder, Cars and Talladega Nights. I say all that to say, I don't know much about NASCAR. The HOF has a bunch of different packages; we just did the General Admission which didn't include a whole lot of the interactive parts like simulators. The HOF has 3 different floors that spirals up a ramp with cars from the various eras. There are tons of displays with cars, trophies, gear, etc. throughout the facility. No sport has trophies as good as NASCAR. See Dover's Monster Mile trophy for reference. I like how they show the cars cut in half to show now vs the other eras so you can see how far the engineering has come. They also have a room with all the plaques and busts of the HOF members. No matter your knowledge base, the NASCAR HOF is fun. If you have kiddos or are a racer yourself, the interactive packages may be worth the investment.

This is fun for the whole family and the audience is taken into account so the stories are tapered to fit the youth of the audience. We were all older so, some of the scarier versions were revealed. Came to the Museum for Father's Day since entrance for Dads was free today. Was excellent to see…read morethe Caravaggio special exhibit, so my fee was a bit higher $25. But my college age son got a student rate and my husband was free. Nice perk, they also do this on Mother's Day, in case you didn't know for next year. I didn't take too many photos of the artwork. The special exhibit is quite large and there is a lot to see. There are two floors full of different types of art and sculptures. Really has so much to see here. I love where the Mint is located, too. Across the street is a green space with a few restaurants and a beautiful church that we visited while waiting for the museum to open at 1pm. Sunday. The entrance fee is good for two consecutive days so if you are staying close by, go back and walk through again. Lots to see. There is also a restaurant attached to the building that was very busy. They had live music as well.

Our first trip was to the Amalfi coast, never could I imagine a more wonderful experience. Every minute from arriving in Rome, to arriving in Positano for 8 nights, and returning to Rome was amazing. Our journey director was outstanding. Our fellow travelers were fabulous, a group of 12. We would explore the coast from this beautiful spot in Positano, each day setting out for adventure in a lovely Mercedes van. We were mostly in places where we saw few Americans, we ate at wonderful restaurants, and had an absolute blast. We had a wonderful blend of active and down time, we learned and saw so much, and laughed every day ! Amazing! The next trip was Florence, Cinque Terra, and Tuscany, amazing as well. The hotels and villa we stayed in were top notch, our journey director amazing, another perfect trip. This was a more active trip, but we enjoyed every second, we felt like we saw a very real side of Italy, not just tourist spots. The Time we spent on each spot was magical. The charming town of Lucca and the Villa in Tuscany were top of our list. We are not organized tour people, but the small group, perfectly curated Nada's trips are beyond. We could not recommend them more highly.
