We submitted the paperwork almost a MONTH ago for Fidelis to set up the assessment for home care, and it has dragged out until now which is 2 days before he is getting discharged. Literally four of us have been constantly trying to follow up on the phone for weeks, and nothing is happening due to an obnoxious amount of clerical errors and lack of action on their end. The amount of red tape and incompetence we've had to deal with is nothing short of staggering. If my grandfather gets hurt at home after discharge due to not having MEDICALLY NECESSARY care and supervision, our family's lawyers will be getting involved immediately. I truly cannot express in words how disgusting this experience has been for my family.

This visit came on the heels of a visit to an expensive, high-pressure, cult-like, mega-upselling "chiropractor" in Rockville Centre that accomplished nothing but lightening my wallet and, astonishingly, actually aggravating my lower back pain. What a contrast! At Caring Hands, instead of requiring multiple consultations (ie., multiple copays) before anything could even begin to get done, my injury was discussed and my treatment began that very day. Dr. Becker asked questions, listened, never rushed, and made me feel extremely comfortable, both emotionally and physically. She has this enormously caring and kind vibe that translates directly into how you are treated. I also finally experienced not only a bit of relief from the months-long pain of this injury, but hope that I might actually be able to return to my previously active lifestyle eventually. While the doors were open and the signs read that they close at 9 PM, we were flatly told "we aren't taking any more patients for the night." There weren't any other patients waiting. This has to be one of the most insensitive statements that an URGENT medical care center can make to a patient in need ... right up there with "it's not my job". I urge the management to train your employees to have more empathy. People are not coming to you for kicks ... they usually are in medical need. To turn away kids in need of medical attention because your staff wants to clock out at exactly 8:30 PM ... it can't be good for business.

I made an appointment for an annual check up the day before! I make the appointment on the ZocDoc app. The one negative thing is that shortly I made the appointment, the secretary called to say the provider isn't available and suggested for me to see another one. Fine. Problem is that the morning of the appointment I got another phone call saying the new provider isn't available at that time too so they asked if I can switch times again. Luckily I was pretty free that day so I was able to see a different provider that morning instead. I ended with with the PA Michelle. The wait wasn't bad. I was called into the room within 15 minutes of my appointment time. The medical assistant was sweet and professional. The PA was very nice as well and seems knowledgeable. She was able to answer my questions and did a quick and easy Pap smear. Definitely much more gentle that any other providers I've had in the past! She wanted to follow up with me again in 6 months which honestly makes no sense since I've been on the same birth control for over a year. And says I should get a Pap smear annually even though the new recommendations are every three years. Her reason was that insurance still pays for Pap smears once a year and it's easier to catch things if done more frequently. I kind of get it but shouldn't we follow the current guidelines of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology? I would recommend this clinic for women with a uncomplicated gynecological history. For annual testing or if you need birth control methods, etc. If anything more than that I would likely think again. I also like continuity of care so am concern if the office will keep changing my providers based on availability. I will likely return since I liked everyone from the front desk to the medical assistant to the PA. The location is very convenient and appointments are aplenty.

When I called the billing department to get clarification, the customer service was extremely unprofessional. Instead of being helpful, the representative was rude, laughed during the conversation, and repeatedly huffed and puffed while I was simply trying to understand my bill. As a patient, I expected to be treated with respect, especially when asking legitimate questions about charges. Professionalism and clear communication are essential in a medical office, and unfortunately, this experience fell far below those expectations. I hope the office addresses both its billing communication and the way patients are treated when they reach out for assistance.
